I couldn't find any groups that specifically included teens who want to lose weight, so I wanted to see if there was anyone else interested. I'm 16, about 140 and I want to get down to at least 120. Anyone else in the same boat?
Hey everybody! I'm down to 157 now... ;) I'll get there eventually.

18yrs, 134 right now, goal weight 127 (sounds like a random #, but I started at 147 and I wanted to lose 20 lbs!) 7 to go!!!!!!!

It so weird for me to hear you guys talk about how you want to lose weight when you already weigh so little at least in comparison to me: I'm 18 years old, female, 5 foot 4, 231 lbs, and i wear a 18-20 size pants. (I bet now you guys all feel so much better about yourselfs lol) Nonetheless I hope we all reach our target weights and devote ourselves to leading a healthier lifestyle. Good luck to everyone!!!
I'm turning 16 tomorrow (yay!) and I'm about 210 lbs. I'm 5'9ish and
I'm told I carry my weight well. But obviously I have a high BMI
(30ish) and I need to lose about 50lbs to put myself in the "healthy
weight" range.
I'm been dieting off and on since Februay and, after much going up and down, I ended up 3 pounds less than when i started. Now that Dance is over for the year (tear*tear) I need to start taking it upon myself to do more exersize on my own.
I would definitely be your partner except for the fact that I have so much more to lose than you. But I would still be delighted if you wanted to be mine. I need some motivation! haha
I did post this exact same thing in the other teen thread. I didn't see this one!

HEY EVERYONE! I AM 18, 5'9.5 AND I WEIGH 127. i used to be 139 when i was injured. i am very active and i work out daily, and i try to eat right, but im not always successful. :( im getting really frustrated because no matter how much i focus on my butt when i work out, i really cant lose any of the fat. my goal weight is 120-122. i know that sounds low for as tall as i am, but i am very small boned so its unnatural for me to be at the weight i am! how do i lose the fat in my butt? HELP!
I'm 18 years old, 5'7 and 132 lbs... I've already lost 6 pounds and I have 4 more to go to get to my first goal. :D
kelly852: I have stubborn ass fat too. >< I think it's just the way our bodies are... so far, all of the weight I've lost has come from my upper body, but I'm hoping that once I've lost around 15 pounds, it'll start coming from there.

Hey yah i'm 141 right now and i'm trying to get down to about 125ish. I'm 5'8" so i'm at a technically "healthy" weight but i'm just not happy with how i look right now. so yeah i just started my diet/exercise plan thing yesterday.
hey im 16 and im about 5"4 and 150 pounds. I've been gaining like 10 pounds every year since gr. 9 (im in gr. 12) and i really want to be at 130ish when i go to university in september.
im trying to eat healthy and work out but its really hard especially because i have so much work (with exams, summatives etc). Also (this is going to sound really dumb but...), i got a wierd hair-do about a month ago and i hate it but my mom made me do it and i havent been to the gym since because i feel so dumb with my hair (its kindof like afro style)
alsoo i go to boarding school and so its so hard to eat healthy because i cant cook my own food and when i dont like whats served, i end up eating cereal. And they always give us all these treats (even though they claim to be a healthy school) and i find it so hard to resist
i started coming to this site about 2 months ago but then maybe 2.5 weeks after i started, i got really depressed (because i didnt get into these universities that i wanted to) and so i ate ALOT. im not depressed anymore but i havent really been able to bring myself to eat healthy constantly
and now i feel like a big fat blob. i know what i need to do and i want to lose weight so i dont know what my problem is. it felt good to get all of that off my chest though :)

Piecesofme,
100 pound is underweight for someone who is 5'4''. Make sure you're doing the right thing and not hurting yourself. I'm suprised that none of you noticed her goal and said something about it. To be honest, everyone should be concerned with trying to help eachother, and making sure that no one is going to hurt themselves.

Hi! I just thought I'd pop in and lend some support from calorie-count.com
The Tools here are geared for adults. The international standards for teenagers (age 19 and younger) are different because you are still growing. And especially if you are very active as an athlete. It's important that you don't go underweight (anything below a bmi of 18.5 ).
Anyway, here is a calculator with lots of information including calorie information for teenagers. We suggest you read this information carefully and share it with your parents:
http://www.kidsnutrition.org/bodycomp/bmiz2.h tml
If you should find yourself in a situation where you are showing signs of an eating disorder, I'd like to offer this extra resource.

Good Luck to all of you in reaching your goals! Feel free to come to the other forums to ask questions, or to send messages to the moderators if you need extra help.

Clairelaine, I'm glad you made that clear. I'm not a teenager (I'm 25), but I had to take a look at this post because it really concerns me when I see young people (who are not done growing) on diets, especially when they don't need to be. I was looking at some of the stats of the teens who posted here, and alot are underweight, but they are still trying to lose weight. I'm glad that you pointed out the these tools are meant to be used for adult weight loss, and on adult bodies. It really makes a huge difference.
I want to say thanks, too, for putting that information out there.
Im 16, 5'4" (just got a check-up, and guess what? I'm an inch taller since last year! ;D) and 148lbs! yay? yes, definately, because two weeks ago I was 152, so I'm right on schedule!
good luck to everyone out there and don't get to down on yourselves! last semester, i started a bunch of super hard courses and gained back nearly everything i'd lost last summer (about 15 lbs). I wasn't that serious last summer, either, so, this summer, armed with knowledge, my goal is to be either a size 8 (6 if i'm lucky!) or 130lbs!
luckily, i've got a great friend who's joining me, and we plan to start kicking major butt at kickboxing class this summer. thanks for giving me a place to share my story, i feel great now!
so, anyone else got fantastic summer plans?

Heya. I'm 15, 5'9" and 130lbs which doesn't sit well with me since I have a very small frame. Naturally I'm usually 115lbs but I became miserable and ate a lot for a few months and gained, I'm talking whole packets of candy for breakfast and eating compulsively all day long. Very bad. At this point I'll be content at at least being 120lbs again. The catch is that I want to do it eating whatever I want. I find that restricting in any way just leads to bingeing. The funny thing is, if I tell myself that I'm allowed chocolate, junk etc. I usually don't want it, whereas when they're this forbidden food I crave it. I plan on doing more exercise, and hope to be slimmer again in a few months.
I joined about 6 months ago, but decided only just today to actually start logging on here!!!
I'm 16 years old, 163 cms and 63.5 kgs... I think that would mean um... 5 ft 3 1/2 in and 140 lbs. I want to lose about 20 lbs.
Do any of you have the problem of having extra pounds/kilos, but being so athletic that it's hard to lose anything?? I'm finding that I need to run to get my heart rate up.. or do star jumps or something crazy like that!!
And as something different, I'm from AUSTRALIA... you know, Down Under?

I'm 16, 5'6 and 157 pounds. I want to be 145 by teh end of June and then 130-135 by the end of the summer. I'm feeling really unmotived right now though. What do you guys usually do to motivate yourselves?
Raz, thin people get marks from their socks too. If they didn't do that they wouldn't stay up. Especially if you have been sitting all day and are retaining some fluid (water not fat). Don't go overboard with your goals, huh.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
