I couldn't find any groups that specifically included teens who want to lose weight, so I wanted to see if there was anyone else interested. I'm 16, about 140 and I want to get down to at least 120. Anyone else in the same boat?
Hey Lissthis---in addition to what phantom said, you could also just do simple things like jogging or biking. I work out daily, and then on top of that when i take my dog for a walk i jog with her, or ill bike with her. Its when you go the extra mile on simple, everyday stuff that you are already doing, like walking your dog, that really seems to make the difference. Also, after your workouts make sure you stretch. It really helps, and a lot of the time i notice that my muscles are more sore from stretching than any excersizes that i do.

I'm 17 and i weighed 158 up untill around feb this year.. im now down to 149 this very morning!!! I think i am 1 lb away from my goal and i am gonna add an extra 5 lbs or so onto it ... but im hoping they will come off naturally when i start to tone up my body more so muscle replaces the fat!!

hey, I'm 17 (turning 18 in about 2 months). I weigh about 153 (at least I did this morning). My goal is 130, and I want to lose the weight by August so I will be slimmer for college (there's a camp for freshmen and there are swimming activities so I need to get past my fear of swimsuits). My main exercise is running, but I start working Monday so my exercise schedule is going to get all messed up.
Thanks for the support! I think I should get a bike and that'll be fun. But I'm not a big fan of jogging though, because I get shin splints. Is there anyway to prevent them?

Im 15 years old and weigh 119. I have gained close to 11 pounds this year and am wroking REALLY hard to lose it.
I'm 19 years old and I weigh about 140 lbs at 5'4". I just finished my first year of college and proved the Freshman 15 wrong! I actually lost close to 20 lbs! So for all of you going away to school if you really are mindful of what you do/eat it really won't be a problem to lose some extra weight. I still want to lose about 15 pounds. I've struggled with my weight for a while now. I've had 2 knee surgeries and gained a lot of weight from not being able to be as active as I was. Right now, it is the motivation that is really holding my back now. My friends tell me I look great and healthy but deep down I just don't feel that way. I recently went on a jog with my very athletic little sister and was amazed at how out of shape I really was. Does anyone know of any motivation that could help me to continue losing weight?
Akolmodi- Sounds to me that youâ??ve already proven to yourself that diet and exercise really do pay off, 20 pounds is awesome! As far as motivation goes, youâ??ve got your friends behind you, your diet and exercise, now all you need is your state of mind. Personally my best motivation is myself. My friends and family can say I look fine but if I donâ??t believe it, it does me no good. You have to believe you can do it and believe that you want it bad enough. Every morning before I get up, before I even open my eyes I think to myself what it is that I want to look like and what I need to do to get there. Iâ??m not gonna remember those 10 extra crunches later, or the fact that I chose fruit and berries over a bagel with cream cheese, but my body will. As long as you want it bad enough, youâ??ll get it.
akolmodi- How did you keep off the freshman 15? I gained about 10 pounds, although I am guessing that probably 5 pounds were muscle (I am on the college swim team, and workouts are a lot more intense!). I think that I would be fine if I actually bought my own food, etc, but I have a meal plan and so go down to the dining hall for pretty much every meal... I mean, its a full buffet, with no limit to how much crap you can eat! I think that next year, I am going to ban myself from dessert in the dining hall. This means that if I have a craving for something sweet, I will have to go back to my room for it, not to mention I probably have healthier/less calorie dense desserts in my room... Any other ideas? I alwyas incorporated some veggies and fruit into every meal, but I just ate too much! Seriously, any help would be taken to heart.

I'm 5'7 and weight around 128-130.. but my weight fluxuates so much. even if i barely eat anything all day.. and go workout at the gym i seem to gain weight.. and after a big dinner can even get up to 135. I starve myself during the dat but as soon as i come home from school just eat everything in sight until dinner. Am i crazyy or does anyone else eat spoonfulls of peanutbutter.

Hey I'm 17 (18 in 2 months) I'm 5'5 and 147 as of yesterday morning. I really would love to be around 130-135 by September for the start of school. I'd love to go in looking good and feeling good about myself. :)

I'm 14 1/2, 5'3 1/2, and 114 pounds. I want to be 105 by the end of the summer. I have a large frame so 114 pounds makes me look large.
