I couldn't find any groups that specifically included teens who want to lose weight, so I wanted to see if there was anyone else interested. I'm 16, about 140 and I want to get down to at least 120. Anyone else in the same boat?

I started at about 220lbs, right now I am 165lbs and hope by October I'll be 145lbs.

2 yrs ago I weighted 150 lbs! Im 5'1 and weight 139lbs! Ive been struggleing to get 115! someone!? any suggestions? TIPS!?I cant loose weight since the first time I tried!
hey, I'm 18. : ) 5' 1" and 163 lbs. I want to lose at least 10 lbs before the end of summer. My goal weight is 115 for now. :P Ideally I'd like to fit in a size 5, whatever weight I'd have to be to do that *grins*. I've been overweight all of my teen years and would really like to get in shape and keep the weight off. :D
I've lost 3 lbs since last week. Woo! That's 12.5 lbs down since I started.

Hey Guys-I am so happy to have found this group. I am 18 and 5'4 and weigh in at 154 glorious pounds...I have learned to accept my body but really want to build up my confidence before I go to college in the fall and drop some weight. My goal weight is 128-which I haven't weighed since freshman year of high school, but anyway really excited to get started...best wishes and good luck to all of you!!
hey girls, im 19, 5'7 and 149... and there is nothing in this world that i love more than food but....but i dont love my love handles. so let me give you some of my tips.
1. i, used to weigh 125 and thought i was fat then. Then i got into a relationship and put on another 25. I'd kill to be back where i was. What im trying to say is, love yourself and always remember staying the same is a helluva lot better than moving up
2. When i go out to eat i usually ask them not to bring bread and i load up on at least 3 glasses of water with lemon. It helps fill you up and the lemon makes it taste alittle better (if u must, sprinkle some splenda in there).
3. Make an awesome playlist for your ipod so you dont get bored at the gym.
5. I like to read fitness magazines alot ... they mostly all say the same thing but they get my mind into 'fit mode' and it makes me excited about my work out.
6. Stick to a strict routine for about a week...they minute you start to see results you'll be addicted to working out.

Hey guys..so im a teenage girl, 16, 5'3 and i weighed 176...been doin ww for 6 days and have already lost 1 and a half pounds..which isnt alot but im so excited! so now im 174 and something.... i have a wedding to be in april 2008 so im trying to get down to like 120....never had success at losing weight before so i couldnt believe when i stepped on the scale!so if any one is in the same boat maybe we could help each other out!
Hey Im 16, 5'3'' 133 pounds. January 2006 I hit 180 pounds (haha after the holidays) and my new years resolution was to lose weight, I always used to start to but quit after like 5 days. So here I am 18 months later still working at it. My original goal weight was like 140ish but I got there an was like nope I wanna lose some more. My lowest weight was 122 andthat was 2 months ago so since then I gained 15 and lost 4 again. I would like to get down to 120 but I would be happy around 125 but no more than that, and I wanna be toned!

Last week I was 122 lbs, now I'm 120 lbs :))) This is pretty much around my natural pre-weightgain weight and I thought I'd be happy at this weight and well, I am happy about it, I just think I'd feel more comfortable at 110 lbs. So I have 10 lbs left to lose, and then it'll all be about maintaining and toning.

I have had a wieght problem since Hitting puberty in the 5th grade. The smallest i've ever been was between 110lbs. and 120lbs. that was in 8th and 9th grade.
Then my freshman year i did some stupid stuff got put on two anti-depressants, and i had an irregular period so i got put on birth controll. Boy! Did i ever get fat. I got up to 183lbs., and I thought i was fat when i weighed 120lbs. Now i want that body back.
Spring of '06 i was really active when i was getting close to graduating from High school, i got down to 128lbs.
Then around christmas '06 after dating someone steady for a while i got too comfortable, and gained my wieght back. I'm glad I'm catching myself now before I get really discustingly big. Ya know... I'm short and weight shows up quick on us short people.
Anyone have any good, healthy ideas? PLEASE let me know.

Hey everyone, I'm 14 and 5"2 and about 142 pounds. My goal weight is 110 by around December, the only problem is that I'm not very active =\ I can ride my bike outside but the only problem is it's too hot! (only about 111 degrees -.-) so i just go outside around 6:30 and it gets dark around that time. so yeah, any tips? =\

Hey I'm 15 and I'm 5' tall... I'm doomed to never get past 5'4", so I want to start paying attention to my weight (a little bit at least) now, because like you said Carrie; when you're short, even 5 pounds makes you feel sluggish and just uncomfortable. It shows up quickly !
Anyways, 5" at exactly 100 pounds. I really don't want to lose anything (..5 pounds would be nice, just want to slim down my bulky gymnast legs) but mostly am just here for the motivation to keep up a healthy weight and lifestyle, and cheer everyone else on.

I have a friend with diabetes who is 16, and slow metabolisms and diabetes are genetic in her family, meaning she has a really tough time maintaining a healthy weight. When she was trying to find an exercise routine that suited her, she and I came across a Turbo Jam commercial. So she bought it and trust me, it helps ! She's lost about 35 pounds since last year, and she's always talking about how great she feels. She's got great endurance & really strong muscles now. So for anyone who feels like they're in an exercise rut, Turbo Jam is amazing ! I've done the tapes a few times with her to keep her company, but you could honestly do those tapes ALL the time by yourself and it hardly seems like exercise. It's exciting and fast paced, plus they have music & energetic leaders that pump you up.

It's nice to see I'm not the only short person. Well, I guess I'm not very short, 5'4", but I'm not a runway model either. lol. I'm 16 and between 130 and 135 and I'd like to be between 110 and 115 by the end of September. I play a lot of sports and eat healthy, but I just can't seem to lose the fat no matter how much muscle I gain. I've decided to vary my exercise to hopefully trick my body into shedding the excess weight.
okay so bear with me when, when I have a lot on my mind I type to get it out and I thougth I would let it out here.
Tonight I had a breakthrough. I went for a looongg fricken run and pushed myslef harder than I have in a long time. Then I went in the shower to cool off when I got home and had a long motivational thinking sesion with myself. It has taken me this long to realize that if I don't get back on track I am going to continue gaining and end up where I was a year and a half ago, 50 pounds heavier. I have let myself have 3 months off and already gained back 16 pound, and it just seemed to hit me tonight in the shower that is absolutely ridiculous! So I thought Im back on track now with so much determination because I dont want it to be the week before schools back in and Im going shopping for clothes I can jsust see myself getting all depressed thinking "I wish I started doing somehting at the beginning of the summer" So I am not going to let that happen, starting tomorrow I am running EVERYDAY. and I am going to eat as healthy as possible....when I get a craving for somehting I am going to chug a glass of water andthen see if its still there. I am so determined and I cant wait for tomorrow to start with this :):):):)

I'm 17, 5'5" and started at 141- now down to 136. I've always to go on a diet, tried lots, never stick to them. This is my first one that I've actually stuck to and I'm really proud of myself. I've been eating healthy, working out 4-5 times a week. I'm hoping to get down to 126 by the time school starts and maintain after that.

I am 162cm tall, (I think the convertion is 5.3 feet). I hope to loose about a kilogram a week. I have a gym membership so now all i have to do is use it!!!!!!!
i am also going to try and cut most of the junk out of my diet. i eat healthy but i also eat way to much.
Does anyone eat really healthy in the morning but when they get home from school just binge and eat every thing in the fridge?????
