I´m pretty new to this site and even though I thought counting calories is not for me, I have to admit I really see the advantages now :).
I wasn´t aware of the calories and bad nutrients some food has and am making a lot of changes regarding eating habits and excercising now.
Until I reach my goal weight it will take a while (started at 272.8 lbs), but I will try not to put myself under pressure and appreciate small changes.
I wish everyone lots of success and maybe somebody would like to join me on my way to becoming a healthier and happier me :D.
Hi, Rachel! Welcome. I'm pretty new myself. Er, I guess I should say that I've tried this calorie counting thing before and haven't stuck with it. I've heard "getting involved" with the online community helps foster accountability. So here I am, humbling myself, and posting "hellos" on forums. Good luck with everything!
I am also new to this site. I have been following an extremely strict anti candida diet for 2 months now and have lost about 20 pounds but found that I needed moral support and encouragement. Hopefully will get rid of candida and lose weight!
Hi Rachael, I am just starting week 4 on CC. I started eating healthier and exercising more the beginning of this year. However, I knew I needed some kind of support to keep me motivated. I accidentally stumbled on this site and am so glad I did. It has really helped.
I always hated the thought of counting calories but with this site it isn't that hard. It really helps me to stay accountable.
The support here is just wonderful. I know I can make it this time and with staying here I can keep it off.
Let's work together and support and motivate one another.
Looking forward to seeing you post along with the others who have already joined you.
Hi fit_laurel :) Thanks for your post. I think this "getting involved" thing is really important, especially since the people here are dealing with the same or similar problems and it feels good to get the virtual hug, new ideas for excercise or recipes or just to rant when the weight doesn´t wanna go the desired direction etc. :D. Good luck and lots of fun with the positive changes!
Hi pwoo533764158 :) Congratulations to what you´ve already achieved. Having to watch what you eat due to allergies must be tough (lucky to have no known allergies, knock on wood). I guess one doesn´t realize how many things contain the allergens, but I´m sure you´re on a very good way. So far I can say that this site is really helpful to stay focussed, esp. since it´s not just counting calories, but also considering all the important nutrients you need.
What was the toughest change you had to make?
Hi mistyday56 :) Week 4 already, that is great and the changes you made sound like this can really be a long term solution which is the most important thing. How much of a difference is this compared to your "old lifestyle"?
I found this site on Google. Was using a similar site in Germany a few years ago (was more of a forum site, less calorie/nutrient focussed) and wanted to have this online support again to have people with the same or similar issues for the exchange of stories, infos etc. and to have my back ;) The additional infos you get are just an awesome bonus.
Support and motivation? I´m in :D
Looking forward to more motivational stories from you and everyone else...
This is a great site for keeping track of what you eat and your activity level plus your water and viatmin/mineral intake. You can even plug in the components of recipes and calculate the nutritional value per serving.
Before I found this web site,I had been doing this for years on my own by compiling a Excel worksheet which contained the nutritional break down for different foods. I had researched all kinds of foods and recorded this information in my worksheet so that I could transfer it over to my daily diet work sheet log. If I didn't have a nutrional break down for a food, I simply didn't eat it.
I thought i was in heaven when I found this "free" Calorie Count site that would track everything I had been doing manually over the years.
Dieting requires dedication and perserverance. This is a good dieting tool. Good luck on your weight loss efforts.
I need to exercise as much as diet!
Cheers and GL! We can do it!
