This is my second week here and I dont have any friends!!
I can think of two reasons you haven't started making friends:
1. You don't have a profile yet. You need to make one so people can learn about you.
2. You haven't posted anywhere else other than this post :) Without a profile, and not having posted in the forums, noone knows you are here yet :)
Once people 'discover' you, you will make friends :)
I would suggest that you make a profile, and then start checking out the Weight Loss and other forums to start meeting the other members of the community.
Again, welcome to Calorie Count.
IF you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm starting my third week here, and don't have any friends either. I've made tons of posts, and have a profile w/ pics, but haven't figured out yet how to add friends.
And I understand everything you're saying, aftonmae. I've had two kids - they're out of the house now - but the past couple of years have caught up with me and done BAD things to my body!!! ha ha My BF is just a couple years younger than me, but he eats pretty much anything he wants AND drinks regular Coke and doesn't gain. It's all very frustrating.
I stumbled upon CC and told my older sister about it - she and I both are trying to lose. But she's in Ohio, I'm in Georgia, so I rely on this site for alot of support, even if it's just reading posts.
I hope you all don't mind...I've added you all to my friends. This is my first day...and I found this thread and after reading your post I feel that I have found some kindred souls. I understand all about the pain, depression and frustration. I want so badly for this to work for me...but I know how many other programs that I have failed...
but I am keeping hope that THIS WILL BE DIFFERENT!
Hey I'm in too, I just started a week ago, and I lost 5 lbs so far, so if you stick to it, it will definitely work!! I have about 95lbs to go though, so count me in, the more the merrier!
I am new to this forum net-tiquitte so I was just adding ppl, and about half added me too, so I was using guerilla friendship tactics I guess hehe. Well I will add you ladies too!
Hope to see you all around the forums!
Hi,
I'm new to this forum as well. I too have 4 kids - 21, 17 and 14 year old twins. I also have had two thyroid surgeries and no longer have a thyroid gland. Since my second surgery I have gained almost 100 pounds. I have been trying on my own to lose the weight and lifestyle changes such as much improved diet and daily exercise seem to only get me about 10 pound loss.
Like other posters I used to be a very thin person. I told the doctor recently that it feels like I have somebody sitting on my lap. In recent years I changed the way I carry fat - from the back end now to the belly. It's been a very discouraging struggle and I am hoping to learn a lot about ways to jumpstart my metabolism.
Hello, My name is Gina. I found this site last Thursday when I decided that it was time to focus on my weight problem. I have already lost 2 pounds in 6 days by watching what I eat, and by staying active.
My first bit of advice is to search thru the site and use all the information available to you. It will help. For exz. You can use the tools at the top of the page which will help you determine your calorie intake, burner meter, and what is a good daily goal calorie intake for yourself based on your height, weight, and goal. Also, You can use the log found under "my account" to determine your daily exercise, and food intake. You can also learn how much calories are in each food which will help you in choosing healthy food if you are like me which is starting off and not really sure what is the right and wrong thing to eat.
I, myself, have set my calorie intake to 1800 a day because I am 5"10 and need to loose 110 pounds. I try to exercise every day regardless if its doing calisthenics or simply walking on the treadmil. Remember that you are exercising even when you are simply cleaning up your home, or doing a normal daily activity.
As for friends and motivation, I suggest finding a forum that is open, and active. You will find a lot of motivation simply by reading their stories, and getting replies back from your own post. Also, Feel free to add me as you like.
Best Wishes, Gina
About adding friends:
If you are using CC+, click on any member name to go to their profile. In the upper right of the profile, you'll see "Add Buddy". Click on that and the person will be added to your friends list and will get an e-mail saying that you've added them.
If you are in CCC, it's the same, but will say "Add Friend".
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
