So I have seen teen, 20's, 40's, 50's and beyond, but no 30's group. So would anybody like to get something started? Not sure where to begin hmmmm
I guess being in our thirties our metabolism has not hit a wall just yet, but it certainly isn't what it was in the 20's. Don't you miss those days? Anything you want and as long as you did maybe one sport in high school, then no worries. Ohwell on to real life where nothing seems to be on schedule.
Let hear your thoughts.
I'm game!! Although, it sure feels like my metabolism hit that wall... Maybe because I never ever had "that one sport." Rocking out and dancing around like an idiot with my friends seemed to do the trick back then... I'd blame it all on hubby, but I was with him back then.
How much background shall we ask about? I'm jumping in with the basics... I'm 32 (for a few more months LOL), 5'2", 200 ish lbs (ya know how this changes from day to day :O...)... My suggested "healthy" weight is 123 lbs, but seriously... I don't want to be that skinny, curves really are sexy... No really, I would be extremely proud of myself and overjoyed if I got to the 150-160 range. I know that it's still technically obese, but not everyone has the "typical" healthy weight.
I don't really enjoy physical exertion... In fact, one of my favorite sayings is "I'm inherently lazy!!!" However, I have began enjoying working out alot more than I used to... I really think that has more to do with how I fell before, during and after than any amount of "FUN" LOL!!! But hey, whatever works.
Oh ya, I tend to ramble endlessly LOL!!!! Well you brought up the subject
!
I would join! I also feel like it is a lot harder to stay a "healthy" size, but maybe haven't hit a wall yet.
I am 31, 5'5" and 148 (so only slightly overweight) and having a problem with believing that really need to be 135 to be healthy. I don't think I have weighed that since like junior high. But we will give it a shot!
I guess I am not really here to lose weight per se, but just really work on eating healthier and excercise more and see what that gets me!
My biggest problem is that my kids make this stuff kind of difficult (hard to find time to work out with three rugrats trying to "help".) Plus they like my "healthy" food and there is not enough left for me by the end of the day.
But enough about me!

Hi, I'm 30 and I am going on 31 soon. I really think 30 has became my new 20 since I was so depressed during my 20's. My weight was like a yo-yo then, and I really didn't want to go into 30 being over weight. So months before my 30th Birthday, I started my lifestyle program. Getting up every morning, and walking 1 mile for a month, and up-ing the miles as I went on, and losing 30 pounds before I hit my 30th Birthday was great. It was a milestone for me.. 1, I had lost the weight, and 2. Since then I've lost over 66 pounds, and I didn't yo-yo back. I feel great at 30/20, and I feel free to do what every I want. Nothing has held me back from going forward. I've been doing so good, and I can't wait to get the last 15 pounds off and keep them off for the rest of my life. I like this Thread, and I hope other people come and post. I really though there was a 30 thread running. I guess not. SO here I am.. 30 losing weight, and feeling great about myself. I got energy now like a 16 year old again. I have fun, and I play with my 3 children, and I'm living life. I'm not letting life live me.
I'm in! Turning 30 for me has been a great transformation of mind and spirit but my body needs a uhaul.. I have never joined a chat group or buddy system online for weight loss and thought maybe its about time I start getting some buddies to help me along the way. So...definitely count me in..
I'm up for it. I just started back on this site last month. Had a baby 17 months ago and recently decided it was time to start losing again.
I'm also 32, 5'6", 157 lbs, would like to get down to 130, but realistically aiming for 140. I have lost 18 lbs to date since December, hit a plateau and trying to work through it. Increasing my exercise has helped a lot, but some days are really difficult.
i know exactly what you mean, I have three boys - 8, 5 and 17 months. Keeps me busy all day long, plug I work!

I forgot to add my kids are 4, 2 & 2 (the last two are twins)
Hi Everyone!
I'm new! I'm in, with the 30's group! I say start now and create good habits for life. My stats are I'm 32 5'7 and 199lbs, my lowest weight was 151 and I was a size 6-8 then, and I would love to be a size 4. I herniated a disk last year and have had to shift to low impact exercises now, (I used to love running...still do..but cant do it with out aggravating my back.)
I have a family re-union at the begining of next year, and I'm finding some resistance to being consistant with the exercise, so I think this group would be great so I can keep up my motivation. I'm currently doing that vegan cleanse (21 days) on day 7, so far so good.
Go 30's!
I'd like to join too, yay for the thirties!
I am 33, 5'1" and 133 lbs... so also in the "slightly overweight" category, but on my small short frame.. there's nowhere for the extra weight to hide, so every extra pound really shows.
I am a SAHM of 5 kiddos, the oldest is 13 and the youngest is 4, so I spent my twenties being preggies and feeling fat. When thirty approached I was 154 lbs and decided I didn't want to spend my thirties being overweight as well. I lost 30 lbs but I've yo-yoed and now it's time to get serious and make the changes STICK!
I would *like* to get down to 115, but I don't know if that's an unreasonable goal, so I'm aiming first for 120 and then I'll take it from there.
nboes... a 4 year old, and 2 year old twins.. What a blessing...
mjthomas96, how do you keep up with 3 little boy's :) My son has been my coach. I let him help-when I am working out at home. My girls go walking with me. nboes, let them help you.. It makes them feel good too. They just think you are playing a game that they can't play. Just do the easy stuff around them
I have a 13 woman going on 20, and 10 year old.. Young man, and 9 year old, who we call miss dirt. If you want to know who did it.. You can find out from her. She's are little miss tell it all.
I'm 5 even, and I was 226 pounds March of last year. Losing 66 pounds since I started, and I have found losing the weight has made my life with my children so much better. I'm the fun mom, and not the hush, mom don't feel too good. I feel great. I love life so much more now.. I'm feeling great about myself. I am now 160, and I'm working on losing the last pounds...
ladydesira, Curves are sexy. I love mines.. I can never lose that. Had this shape all my life, BUT! I can tone it up. My BMI has me at 101-127, and I am just going for 145. You know what's right for your body.. Not these BMI charts, and who came up with this what is healthy. If you are under weight. Everyone says.. Eat something. If you are over weight. Everyone says. Lose weight. What do they know. There is nothing wrong with feeling sexy in your skin.
there is agroup for ladies over 30, but it does not hurt to have more!
Can I join? I'm not quite 30, (only a few months left) but I feel a little too old for the 20's group. And I really need to accept 30 is fun... I keep thinking of the line in Scouting For Girls 'She's So Lovely' 'she's flirty, turned thirty, ain't that the age a girl gets really dirty' lol 30 is fun 30 IS fun!
You're kids all sound fantastic! My little baby is 9 going on 18, so grown up in her ways, yet often coming for a cuddle or pretending to be whichever animal pet she feels like, bless.
About me, my life changed when I got divorced
and moved to Wales. I started a Physics degree at uni, and met the love of my life there
. My daughter is fluent in Welsh, and everything is just great!
I joined CC to help shift the last few lbs, but instead have found out sooo much I never knew about health and fitness! It's really motivated me to go to the gym and eat healthy as well as lose weight. Best thing I learnt was to up my calories... since I did that I've lost 7lbs, I still can't believe it!
My stats are: 5'7; 140lbs ish (my lowest ever since my teens); and would like to get down to around 135. But mostly I want to be fit, with a bit of muscle and of course healthy!
Well thats me, sorry it was a bit long
30 is fun... 30 is fun...
ooo, can I join too? I am 34, about 5'4", and currently at 177..I want to be down somewhere between 120-130 lbs ( i have a smallish frame) or at least enough lbs to lose the little rolls on my sides and get some space between my thighs ;) ... I am aiming for rest of my years in my thirties to be in the best shape of my life!
I have 4 children- 13 yr boy, 9yr girl, and almost 6 yr twin boys..
nboes, are your twins boys or girls or one of each? They are so much fun!
lynnhaslost, lol about your kids' personalities!- especially miss dirt! that is so funny! My 9 year old knows everything too! and losing 66 lbs already! thats fantastic! good for you!
Sorry I forgot to say genders. The 4 year old is a boy and the 2 year old twins are one of each. I am hoping the twin thing gets easier soon, but 2 two year olds experiencing the terrible twos at the same time is quite interesting.
Oooh, me too! I'm 34 and I've been CC'ing it since mid January. I've lost 39 pounds so far (currently at 169) and I'm feeling great. The more support the better. I'm 5'3.5" and I'm aiming to get down to 135. No kids and no husband, but I'm in a committed relationship of almost 3.5 years and we live together with our 3 insane cats. This seems like a great idea.

Yeah, it's so great to have the different personalities. My oldest child is 4'10", and she was a little over weight, and the family doctor told me to get her active. She was too short to be over weight and she was thinking maybe dance would get her started. My teen was 137lbs when she went to the doctor last December, and now she is 105lbs, and so proud of it. She was telling me how the girls at her school already worry about there weight. She told them. You don't have to diet. That's for grown ups.. Just play and dance. That's what I did. They was asking her how did she lose the weight. She said, I dance with my mom, and now she walks with me every morning. My oldest child was never a small child, she was always the biggin' my family member's told her.. One 4th of july outting. You are going to be big like yo-mama. Did you think she let that slide.. NO! She said, and you are a drunk.. So what. I guess we both have a problem... That's my 13 going on 20, and miss dirt told me all about her lashing out back at them.. LOL.. It's not funny, but a grown up shouldn't tell a child things like that.. She isn't your normal teenager, that's for sure. She's a go getter, and going out for captain of the cheerleading team. She told me the other day.. I got this in the bag Ma, so don't worry about me. I got this! Then she said, if I don't get it. I'm still going to be the co- captain. One or the other.. I'm going to get it. I like the way she see things. Nothing get's her down.. Miss drit... It's not the truth until you hear it from me.. That's what she always tells me.. My son... He's my coach.. Come on Ma! You got one more squat in you, now do it... Great group of kids.. Let them help you lose the weight.. Makes them feel so much better.. My kids even started to show me moves they do in P.E., better than all that running I use to do when I was a kid.
Well I guess since I started this
I need to add my info. Okay so I am 30 for another month with 2 kiddos, oh and a wonderful husband. A boy 5 and girl 2, I can totally understand the terrible two stage, but can't imagine doing it with 2 of them. I am 5'9" 185 ish but that fluctuates. I think I am at a plateau or maybe losing motivation because I am bouncing around 185 to 188 and can't bust out of the 180's cycle. I have been on CC since January and have lost 25lbs so I know I can do it, I just need to get some more motivation and push through the lull in weight loss.
I can totally relate about others eating my healthy food, but I have come to realize that I just won't buy their junk anymore and will buy more of my stuff. That way they don't realize they are eating healthy. Well with my kids they are already skinny minis. They actually like broccoli. My son is a corn a-holic and my daughter green beans. Go figure, but as long as they will eat it I will keep getting more.
My husband is the biggest food theif. I love the Smart ones desserts and well now apparently so does he. I also buy the special K strawberry bars in bulk and he will eat them for breakfast. Oh and I love the special K red berry cereal and who do you think keeps finishing off the box, none other the DH. My husband is smaller then I. He is only 5'7" and about 165-170 or so. He doesn't need to lose any weight until I am his weight.
My goal for myself right now is 170. Once I reach that I will set another, but that is what I was when I got married and got pregnant the first time. Hehe yeah pregancy one month after marriage really puts on some pounds.
Thanks for joining in everyone
lynnhaslost, you sound like you really have a great family..Kids really are so smart! Thats the thing about having them when you are younger, you kind of 'grow up' with them! (I had just had my 20 b-day when I found out I was pregnant with my first) Thats great about your daughter losing her weight through dance and fun, sounds like she really has a great outlook and a healthy self-esteem-- so important at that age! And thats so sweet about your son coaching you along!
nboes, ooo terrible 2's .. It did get easier with mine. When my boys were around 2 I had to start buzzing their hair because they would pull eachothers hair out! They both literally started having bald spots on the tops of their head from it! So I buzzed it off too short for them to pull! Saved alot of screaming anyway! &n bsp;   ; &n bsp;   ; &n bsp;   ; &n bsp;   ; &n bsp;   ; &n bsp;   ; &n bsp; Things get soo much easier when everybody is potty trained! Hang in there, it'll come!
ceclark, lol about your husband stealing your food! I'm currently having a hard time getting the family to eat better.. my hubby works nights and has terrible eating habits and will buy extra junk all the time. He doesnt really like many of the same veggies as me, so i always have to fix extra what he likes (usually corn, peas, carrots, green beans, simple salads) and then my veggies too (broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, etc.) I usually try to limit the junk food I buy and serve everyone, but my hubby will go out and buy what I dont.. and he is often one to say after dinner, 'who wants DairyQueen?' or some other dessert. My kids are to the point where they could lose a few pounds. My hubby really needs to start eating better.. he is diabetic and does not manage it very well- one of my biggest worries. He is a big man- about 6'4" and right now around 235.. He can gain and drop weight like nothing to it.. His heaviest was when our first son was a baby and thats when we found out he was diabetic-- he was about 320! He never really went on any diet or started any major exercise- the doctors say that having high, uncontrolled blood sugars over time can make your body burn up the fat..go figure! I just hope he gets it together soon with staying on track with his meds and making better food choices! He has always been bigger than me, but I think now I am 'fatter'.. My bmi is probably higher than his right now.. I just want all of us to be healthier!
ceclark, your husband is stealing your food.. That's so funny. My boyfriend of 5 years asked me.. Can I have some of your diet food... Okay.. He had it.. Gave him the runs...LOL... Now he said.. He got to work up the guts to eat another one..... LOL.. It was so good.. Smart Ones. LOL! Your kids, they sound great, and you sound like you have a great group there.. That's good.
Wendyb27, I think I my kids are so great. They are go getter's like there me, and they always remind me of what I should be doing. MOM! Don't eat that.. MOM! Are you going for a walk. They stay on top of me. I really do love that.. My oldest child.. SHE is who we call Mama number 2, she is always bossing us around, and me too- if I let her get her way with it. LOL. But she is great.
Nboes, I think I missed the 2 thing with all of my kids.. They didn't do anything bad. But they are going to get past this. I'm sure of it. I just don't remember. One of each.. Wow, that's great. What a blessing.
