So I was just sitting here wondering is it easier to lose weight in the summer or in the winter. to my way of thinking it would be easier to lose in the summer then in the winter. You are outside more and doing more activities. My problem is that i stay the same weight all year round. Any thoughts?
You're probably right, but then again if you live someplace really cold your body burns more calories in the winter trying to keep you warm! But either way, the season matters less than what you eat and how much you exercise. ![]()
probably depends on the person, but for me definitely the summer. For many reasons, I'm much more active, all the active things I love to do are outdoor summer activites, hiking, horseback riding, biking, tennis, swimming, etc. I realize some of those you can do indoors but somehow it's just not the same and I either don't have access or room to do them indoors. Also people grill more in the summer, a healthier way of preparing food and a lot more fresh produce is more readily available. And in the winter the cold makes me crave all those comfort foods!
The summer I'd say for me.. as the suns out, its a beauitful day and I wanna get up and active! I feel like working out when the suns out more so than when its raining, cloudy or just plain dull and borning.
So SUMMER for me ![]()
For me, summer time. Mainly because it is SO STINKIN' HOT AND HUMID here that I don't eat big meals...it just makes me feel sick when I do it. So I tend to eat smaller, less filling meals and eat lots of fruit and salads because they are cold...or at least not HOT things.
In the winter I tend to want to cuddle up on the couch with hot cocoa and a big bowl of full fat chili with crackers or something. Not to mention I am not as concerned with how my clothes look on me since you can "hide" more in winter clothes.

I tend to lose more weight in the summer. It seems i want to just eat when im indoors. Summer motivates me a bit because you can't really hide in your clothes then like you can in wintertime. I am more active in summer too.

definitely summer. besides the added activity, my actual cravings change.
In the winter, I crave sweets like mad. But, in the summer, I crave the fresh, ripe veggies. It's very strange, but even with the few warm days we've had here lately, I've noticed my sweet cravings are completely gone.
I'd say it's easier in the summer. I don't have school so I can focus more on what I'm doing and I have enough time where I can eat slowly and take my time exercising, instead of having to squeeze exercising in, in the morning before school, at like 6. ugg, that SUCKED! I should hit my goal weight by late August so it should be easier to maintain my weight in the winter..
