I saw this in the Weight Loss forum and thought it'd be great for the YCC forum (I hope that's alright) :]

I know that there have been/are posts similar to this, but I haven't seen one where we actually work together to reach our goals.  We all need motivation no matter what shape, size, weight, etc. we are, and I think that if we all work together here, have an optional weigh-in day (Sunday), and tell each other about our goals and accomplishments, we'll feel even more motivated to get these pounds off than before!

If you're 5'5" (or within 1-2 inches of it), you're welcome to talk here!! Get acquainted with the other members here with similar stats and goals, and motivate each other!

Tell who you are, your stats, what you eat, your goal weight, your story, and talk to other people about all of it!!  Come here if you need to vent, need support, advice, or whatever.

I came to CC for assistance in recovery from anorexia, it was tough (that's a major understatement...), but I do believe that the rough part is over.  While in recovery, I gained 25lbs. and got back up to the weight I was before all of that started (my current weight), and I really just need to be happy with how I look and feel good about myself again.  Now, I am following a healthy diet and exercise plan that will help me reach my goal and then maintain it.

Hey :) I'd love to join. Not sure if I need to lose weight but I kinda want to, just a little bit, without things getting bad. I've been in recovery from anorexia for about 4 or 5 months now and I am up around 1200-1300 every day. (Proud of myself!) It was really, terribly, awfully hard but I'm glad I did it.

I feel best about myself when I'm around 115-118 lbs; thats just how I look the best and I want to be back there so that I don't have to starve myself anymore. Hopefully if I do it gradually I won't feel the need to lose any more when I reach my goal weight. I only ever started starving myself to get there in the first place.

Hey, Jenny :] I know exactly how you feel.  That's the weight I feel best at, also.  So, it makes complete sense to me. 

Since I posted this thread, I've gone up to 142...? I don't see how, I'm eating 1500 calories a day and exercising for 1.5 hrs. 3-4x a week.  According to the size of my deficit, I should at least be losing a pound a week.  I'm not sure, but maybe it's just muscle gain.  I'll just have to hang in there, I guess.

Thats funny since I've had the same problem lately. I recently gained around 5 pounds and I don't know why since I'm only eating ~1200 calories a day right now. I don't always have time to exercise, but I walk about 30 minutes a day, at lunch and stuff at work, so I do get a bit. It's weird..... though I am on the pill and that tends to make me unable to lose weight... 

Haha, I think we all go through it during/after recovery.  Our metabolism may still be trying to get back to where it once was.  It will stabilize over time :] Just keep it up, that's what I have to tell myself.  It will happen over time, and you'll eventually look like you want to look like.

Alright. So I have taken a break for the past two weeks. Now I need to start a new workout routine. I dont really want to gain muscle, but kind of want to keep what I have. I dont mind doing just cardio but I guess you'll lose your muscle.

What do you girls do for your workouts?

 

That's great that you've had such good results so far.  How long have you been doing it?

For my workout, lately I've been doing about 20-30 minutes of lifting weights (usually 2-4 sets of 12 reps on around 4-6 machines), then I go and do about 45-60 minutes on cardio (mainly treadmill, cycling, and a small time on the elliptical).  I should probably focus a lot more on weights than I am cardio, and I should probably cut back some of the time in the gym, but if I don't I really don't feel like I'm doing enough.  Right now, I'm doing the Couch to 5K, but I'm only in the first week (but I did the first week twice, so really I'm on the second week :P).  I like cardio a lot more than weights, too.  But, at least I'm doing something, right? lol.

Yeah. Tomorrow I am getting back on my workout. I think I will doing it 3x a week and I will do an hour and a half workout. Cardio (30) Weights (30) Calisthenics (30). I might start out again though on 15-15-15 or 20-20-20. Not sure yet. We'll seee. 

I believe I started in March at 140. I got down to 122 and then shot back up to 127 when I added weight lifting into my routine. As of today 125.2.

So weigh in's will be sunday?

 

Mhm :] They're optional, so you don't have to do it every week.  Honestly, I've only weighed twice since June 1st (that's when I started).  But I'll probably begin doing it more regularly soon. 

What was your start weight?

My start weight was 139.6, and as of last week I'm now 142 :/ I honestly don't see how that happened, though.  Maybe muscle weight?

Today's weight was 141 :D Maybe that means that I'm finally beginning to lose? I know it's just a pound, but still! lol

YAY. I am losing water weight right now, but its fun because I was 124.6 today.

Hows your week going? Ha. No one is talking. This is what happens to groups; they start, and they end.

Haha I know.  I've been checking up on it, but since nobody else had posted I just let it be for a while.  My weeks been going well, I've just been doing the usual.  But, I increased my weight, and lowered my reps.  I heard that that's supposed to help build muscle.  I'm trying to work on that, lol.  How has your week been?

I went to check and see if we had the scale this morning, and we didn't :/
But, I weighed the other day, and the scale read 139.6!!

How has everyone else been?

I weighed myself today and I was 122.6

So 5.6 - 7.6 more pounds to go.

I need to start walking! I haven't worked out in a month eeek. Haha.

Maybbbe I will go swimming today, or for a walk we'll see.
