What the **** do you do when you're so pissed that you could punch out a wall? I'm seriously just so angry right now and need to calm down...

So, what do you do?

I exercise!  Cardio-kickboxing comes in handy when I get like that =)

I don't get mad like that anymore, it sort of fades as you get out of teenagehood. However, when I was like that I used to smash bottles. The sound of breaking glass calmed me down. Now when I get angry I listen to offensive rap music with a strong beat really loud and hit the punching bag.

Don't hold it in.  If you're mad at someone you should let them know.  You should practice expressing yourself without yelling or cursing.  It will make you feel better regardless of there reaction.  People will also start treating you differently.  Try writing it down first and practice if you need to.   Then talk to them alone in private and let them know how upset you are.  You'll gain a lot of respect and you'll feel better about putting them in there place.  Speak to them firmly and let them know where you stand.

If it's not a person and it's an incident.....try meditation.  Listen to some music, take a long bath, light up some fancy candle...relax.  Watch a rerun of your favorite show or movie.  It's not worth stressing out about if you can't change it.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference" -Niebuhr

Just remember, things and people don't make you angry. It's your interpretation of words and actions that make you angry. Take control of your thoughts and you won't be angry anymore.

Up until very recently (within the last month), I had a lot of trouble controlling my anger. I would curse and yell until I ran out of energy. How productive was that? I'm now learning to channel my thoughts so if I start getting angry, I try to concentrate on something good that happened that day. And I rationalize that if someone said something I didn't like, that's their problem. Why should I care that they have no manners? They're the ones that have to deal with that. I can just ignore it.

If you want to punch something why not punch your bed or pillow? When I get really mad I cuddle with my dog and talk to her. Lol, this usually means I use a lot of obscene language and tell her whats the matter. Hahaha, then I just tell her how pretty she is and that I love her. You could..... cry? I do that too when I get really angry. Don't hit people, smash things at are expensive, or yell and scream. Lol, I use to have a pretty bad temper trust me thats not the best way to handle things

Write down what would make you happy (ie if that person who wronged you fell down in a pile of maple syrup and had ants crawl into her ear and lay eggs in her brain ...) in graphic detail.  Then tear it up/burn it tomorrow.

I punch stuff. i'm a guy I dont hold it in... I've done what vegetariangeek has done i write something really horrible about them. then delete it off the computer

Go take a long walk somewhere by yourself. Or write down everything that you're feeling, with as many intense words and statements as you need. (Just make sure you don't show anyone what you wrote, or godforbid mail it to the person you're mad at).

Actually,  I spend about an hour going through the Yang Long form of Tai Chi then mediate for another hour.  After, that I call my mom or sister and vent.

Iam seriosuly the ost unrelaxed, overly stressed, and overly angriest person I've met So far.  Anyways what I am trying to stop but usually do is get really pissed at people like my sisters and Mom, But dont follow this advice its a little mean.  And then I throw something thats just annoying to me (Like glasses perhaps) it makes e feel a little better....for half a minute.  But then I decided that this anger wasnt good for me, It was making me feel a little psyhotic...so...I read anna Karenina.

Try that.

write an angry letter to whoever made you mad. Feel free to curse, insult them, write in all caps, etc. Then remember NOT to send it to them.

This almost always makes me feel better in the end-- and in the meantime, distracted.

Have a few shots and a lot of awkward, drunken sex.

if i'm not in the mood or so angry.. i just eat and eat and eat.. ;) til i come down.. ;)

Fun! im gonna try that,

I stare at my fish tanks!  They really are the best stress relief.  That, and, as stated before, snuggling a puppy.

wow, there's some real good ones up there...

me?  I watch my favorite sitcoms/humorous tv shows.  the mindless humor calms me down.  that 70s show works well.  weird, i know....

honestly?  I run up the stairs loudly and quickly, jack up the AC, run under the covers and scream and breathe (and yes-  sometimes limbs will flail).  It beats putting my foot into the wall of throwing something that I'll regreat later.  It's a new process.  When I'm not home and I"m angry; or get angry "on the spot" I breathe like I'm in labor-  very deep breaths -  I try to get away from everyone to do this and if there is a bathroom around; I'll splash cold water on my face.
