That is what I would have said three months ago. I just hopped on the scales there, and it read 112lbs.
Before, seeing that reading would have caused me to
(a) Cry uncontrollably, then binge on chocolate and icecream
(b) Cry uncontrollably, then exercise like a maniac for two hours
Thankfully, I now have more sense!
I have finally realised, I am 14, I am still growing. So what if I am 14lbs heavier than I was a few months ago. I have also grown an inch and an half. I am now 5'4''. I am happy. I am healthy!
This website has also helped me to finally be comfortable in my own skin due to the different user profiles. I can look at two people who are the exact same height and weight, but look completely different. I should be refer to the image I see in the mirror, not the weighing scales. All my old clothes fit, I am not sure why, I am obviously heavier, but I'm not complaining!!!
112lbs is thin. I am thin!!
Sorry if this post seems pointless, I am on a high, and I wanted to have some record I could look when I don't feel quite so great.
lmao. I was gunna smack you upside the head! =P
GOOD FOR YOU! Hugs going your way!
I'm happy too, lets spread the happyness
Congratulations! You have a great outlook and a healthy attitude! I really think the way you look is influenced more by the way you see yourself than the number of pounds you weigh.
Oh, and you probably gained muscle and lost fat--muscle weighs more! That way your clothes still fit, but you look better in them! Yaay!
Best,
Emily

I was right there with you until I read the rest
!
Your body is still growing into a beautiful WOMAN! Keep up the EXCELLENT work!
This thread has made me happy :) I'm glad you're happy, you should be x
Do this for me..
DONT STEP ON A SCALE AGAIN UNTIL YOU ARE AT LEAST 18!!!
lol, thank you
The reason your clothes still fit, is because you grew an inch and a half. my 7 year old is overweight. She knows everyone else is tiny compared to her. She knows mom and dad went on a diet. I won't let her. I keep telling her to just wait it out. Its more important that she maintains the weight she is because as she gets taller and older her weight will eventually balance out with her height and age. This is true for you as well. In fact, if you grow any more your going to want to gain more. My 15 year old daughter, is an inch taller than you wears a size 6 jean and weighs 136 lbs. She isn't obviously strong, You wouldn't suspect that under her girly girl exterior she can flip a 200 lb man but she can. She weighs as much as she does because she has a lot of muscle but not so much that she forgot that she needs a bit of fat in order for all of her female stuff to work.
Don't you forget that either. Fat for women is good. you just have to know where to draw the line between good fat and to much fat.
I am happy that you realized that you are just fine. Remember that you are still growing and, as another post said, don't step on another scale until you are 18. Or even 20. Please. Don't set yourself up for a lifetime of self doubt by locking into a number when you have a few more growth spurts ahead of you. Hang on to the feeling that you have today!! It is right on no matter what the negative voices are saying in the back of your mind. Love yourself and be proud!!! ![]()
Congrats, gurlywurly! Just out of curiousity, are you recovering from an eating disorder? Either way, I applaud your welcoming attitude to the weight gain. And you are right - 112 IS thin! Gaining weight as you grow up is a part of normal living and is completely healthy.
(cheers you on)
YAY! good for you, very nice and inspiring to hear... 112lbs is a great weight for your height, on the low side, but yet still healthy!
I just hope that you stick with it and let your body continue to mature, and that you don't got back trying to achieve unrealistic goals like your profile implies... enjoy your teenage years!
You are just wonderful! This post has just made my heart jump a little jump and I feel like dancing around my desk with joy!!!
Stay this way ok? I won't repeat what the others have said- but I agree with them all!!!
b - who thinks you are inspirational!
By the way- your clothes might still fit now- but I'll bet my bottom dollar that those trousers and shirts will be to short in the sleeve and leg pretty soon!!! You're growing girl!
Thanks so much to everyone who answered!!! You're all so sweet, and really know how to make a girl feel happy!!!
I have basically decided the scales are EVIL!!! They may work for some, but not for this girl!!
I am finally able to start enjoying the food I love, but along with healthy foods too. (Takes a bite of chicken. Apple next. Then chocolate for Home and Away!!!!!)
No_audience: I would not consider myself as being a sufferer of an eating disorder, but I do know I had developed unhealthy attitudes to food. Thankfully, I have managed to regain control over my relationship with food, otherwise the story could be a lot worse.
Actually, just a question. Can body fat analysers ever be completetly off??? Like 5 - 6%???? Because, I have one, which I bought for around €40 ($60), The thing is, it gives readings of around 12% body fat. Now, I thought that a female was meant to have at least 18%????? And, 12% seems to be very little for me, in fact, if I had to guess I'd say I had a high body fat percentage. So, do you think the analyser is faulty or could this actually be a moderately accurate reading?? Don't worry, I'm not trying to lower my percentage or anything, I'm just wondering!!!
