late night bites!

Confessions time...who else is muching after midnight?

It's 12.50am and I'd gone to bed about an hour ago with a 1000 calorie deficit for the day (wohoo). But I have a job interview tomorrow and nerves are keeping me awake. I'm snacking to the tune of 150cals.... groan.

Any tips on avoiding the midnight munchies? x

Get up as soon as you feel munchy, get a cup of veggie soup for about 100 cals, and then make yourself go back to bed until you fall asleep.

drink water instead.

150 cal? you should be happier because there is someone out there who is worse than you! I just ate 220 cal granola bar. not just one but three of them! There goes my hard work out of the window! Cry

I get the late night munchies, so I make up baggies of cucumber slices that equal 25 cals each--which is about two cups of cucumber! It really curbs my appetite/oral fixation, and doesn't set me back.

I understand your problem. I used to have problems snacking around midnight too. My suggestion is you set up a curfew for the kitchen. Tell yourself you can't go to the kitchen during a certain time. It can be 5, 7, 8, whenever you want. Right now I set the curfew at around 11, but I'm working up to making it earlier.

Can't help you there. I deliver newspapers for a living. Midnight's when my day kicks in :D The messed up circadian rhythm I have because of this actually helps my late-in-sleep-cycle cravings.

I always have some sugar free ice lollies or make some myself.  Then I always have something to nibble on if I find myself hungry late at night and sometimes you can mistake being thirsty for being hungry so they quench your thirst aswell.
