Heyy everyone!  I'm new here and was just wondering if you had any advice I need to gain weight immediately.  My parents have restricted me from exercising which is completely understandable because Im looking pretty hurrendous.  Anyways, Im 5'0 and am currently 82 lbs.  I know I need to gain atleast 15 pounds.  The CC says I should be eating almost 3000 calories a day to gain...does that sound right/safe? At what weight do you think it is logical for me to start exercising again?  Also, I know this is a long way away, but once I gain the weight is there a way of figuring out how much I will need to maintain?  Sorry to bombard you all, just want to gain weight safely!! Thanks so much in advance.  Congratulations to all those who have gained their desired weight, so inspirational to hear, good job overcoming it all!!

Well aeropink, eveyone has a different metabolism and CC is just a guide, but some people actually need more than 3000 cals a day to gain. I think that you could aim for that starting and then see after a week if you do gain anything. I would cut out the exercising unless you do strength training without too much cardio.

Once you do gain, maintanence is a good place to begin exercising a bit more and then staying at a level of calories atleast maintanence level for you and your body to adjust.

I would just stop exercising and eat more for starters!!
