I'm going all out and just -eating- today (healthily, mind, but EATING) because my numbers seem to be going down, and will continue this the next few days, but wanted to know so the initial shock doesn't terrify me: how fast did your initial weight gain go on? I've been told a lot of it should be internal rebuilding so I'm trying not to wig out and think I'll balloon up, but a rough idea of what I should expect will have me calmer because I can brace myself that way. (: Apologies if the question might be a bit upsetting to anyone. x:
HAHA WOW. Okay. So, I just got back from my therapist and she told me I had two options after my assessment: "Daypatient" or "keep going for a couple of weeks. If you see no improvement - daypatient". Hospital = scarier than weight gain. I would still like maybe a rough idea of what to expect to see gain wise in the next week just so I can determine what might be water, but holy crud - if I needed ANYTHING to scare me more I just got it. D:
Fairly quickly. It's sad, and a little hard to deal with, but it DOES stop. After I hit my lowest weight of 95 pounds, I struggled to eat again. I actually got into a binging cycle because I had missed food so much and my body was starving, which may have helped me along a bit. Within 3-4 weeks I had gained enough weight back.
Some of the weight you gain will be water weight, and some will be internal repair, and some will be real weight. That's what we get for depriving for so long, the body clings on to all this lovely fat/food that it's getting cause it doesn't know when it will get it again..
I'm still struggling with it.
YOU CAN DO THIS...it will be scary at first, when I went above the 100 marker I freaked, but it is okay, you are capable of gaining healthy weight on healthy foods. Just take one day at a time and add tons. Weight my pile on at first, but it will level out!
Good luck!
