Hi I'm 5'2 1/2 and 105lbs and I want to get back to where I was last summer at an even 100. I feel the most comfortable there, because being so small, a little fat goes a looong way, and it's mostly concentrated in my back - so now I have this bra overhang stuff I never had before and it's bothering me. Also, my jeans are a little tight, and anymore inches and I'll be in the next size. So 5lbs by the end of the month or early Aug. would be great for me. I'm signing up at my local gym tomorrow to have access to machines that I don't have at home. I usually do 45 minutes of morning aerobics, and that has targeted my legs, and arms, and my stomach, so-so, but I really think I need more advanced machines to help me along the rest of the way.
What do you say?...I'm a little shorter, but I'm pretty much in the same ballpark! :D
but we can both do this!!!
How old are you guys?
Anyways, I just wanted to say that you guys shouldn't panic over a little weight gain (depending on your ages)
Assuming by your stats you've given (and that you posted in the YCC forum) that you're pretty young, keep in mind that YOU ARE STILL GROWING! Your bones are getting more dense, your brain is still developing, and weight gain is needed to change from a kid/young teen to an adult. You might THINK you're done growing, but YOU'RE NOT!
Wanting to be healthy is one thing, but obsessing over a little weight gain is another. PLEASE be careful and stay healthy!
im in! im 5'4 and a half, and 113 pounds. i want to drop down to 110 to finish my weight loss : )

HA I feel Heavy next to you guys. Im 5"4 From what I know and 114 Pounds. It's Okay. I mean I'd Like to lose about 5 pounds, But I don't want to feel weak and depressed either.
How old are you guys?
I'm 20. This is the first time in my life I have ever GAINED weight. I used to come home from high school, eat mac n cheese as a snack, maybe do some rollerblading for 30 minutes on most days, and not gain a pound. Last summer I also lost a few more lbs and ended up in the 90's because I began aerboics - something I had never done before - and I was not even actively trying to lose weight. I didn't even notice how much weight I had lost until someone pointed it out to me. Then over the winter I became a vegetarian and I really wasn't prepared, so I ate a lot of cheese in place of the meat, and did next to no exercise and put on some lbs. Now while I know I am not fat, or anywhere near overweight, I just want to shed 5lbs to feel 100% comfortable, and get rid of that little extra flab...mainly on my back...why it's *there*, I'll never know!
So far I have gotten my legs and arms back into shape for the most part, and I'm happy about that because leg muscles burn a lot of calories, and things ust look better when they are toned
, so it's not so much the scale I'm paying attention to, beause if I end up with more muscle, then I'm going to weigh more anyway...I just want the inches gone, and the clothes to feel better. Once that occurs, then I will know when I have reached my goal!

yay! we can all help eachother out then if anyone's struggling or at a point of halting weight and everything :) right now im working on upping my calorie intake, how much should i be intaking a day? i'm new to healthy eating hah i used to just...not eat, bad i know. but ive been doin pretty well with the healthy foods lately :) just gotta make sure i eating enough because i workout everyday
From what I have read, you should be taking in no less than 1200 calories (any less than that is basically starvation mode), because that is what one needs just to live and function as a human. If you are doing exercise, I would suggest taking in around 1500-1700 a day depending on how much you do. I'm no expert and these are mrerely estimates, but this seems to be the most common range I have seen. Plus, we are short, so we don't need as many cals as someone who is 5'10![]()
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to pop in and drop this link for you all:
Calculator and calorie information for Teens
I assume that as small as you all are, you are probably teens, which means that you guys need to follow a different set of calorie-intake rules than adults do. The information on CC about not going below 1200 is for adults. For people your age, you really need to get more than that because your body is taking in calories to build itself. You don't want to stunt your growth or send your metabolism sinking down. (Been there, done that and it sucks...)
Hope that that helps you each figure out what's right for you! I wish you all luck in reaching your reasonable goals! :) Try not to be too hard on yourselves!
okay what?
you're recovering from an EATING DISORDER and you are asking on advice on how to lose more weight? you are already too low of a weight for your height AND a teenager.. you are not done growing yet dear child.
why dont you focus on eating ENOUGH and not so much as losing weight.
but hey IF you lose and maintain on a healthy amount of calories to provide adequate growth and organ/body function then I guess go ahead.. but if not I suggest you stop now while your ahead, something about this topic screams 'relasping' to me...

binkymimo- wow you were tiny! hah i used to be tiny too, but now i grew a little so the chances of me gettin back in my old clothes is pretty slim, i just wanna look good in my new ones :) hah ive been workin on toning my legs too! but im struggling with the upper thigh, the lower legs, around the knee and below are doin great though!...any suggestions?
svkas09 and binkymomo-
you guys are so so tiny and young still ( I'm pretty young myself) but just ENJOY your metabolism while you have it! it makes me sad to think of how young you both are and SO small are you are still trying to lose weight! Pleaaseee be careful! Your body is still growing and being at an unhealthy BMI is one of the worst things you can do! My mom had an ED and she had to get a pacemaker at age 29 and she is 98% positive its because of her past ED. relax and enjoy your ability to eat during youth cause it's not going to stay like that forever!
svkas- from my classes(in school) I learned it takes around 12 weeks of consistent working out to see significant appearance changes, but you should be feeling the difference around 6 weeks...and toning the upper leg issues haha I'm right there with you! Maybe try some exercise ball squats and you can never ever go wrong with lunges! Maybe mix up your cardio from just running..the elliptical is good fro toning as well as the stairmaster Also have patience! Are you eating a lot of lean meats like chicken? The lean protein will also help in your toning efforts![]()
i'm 5'3" and 103 lbs. i just lost 2 pounds over a few months. i'm looking to lose a few more pounds to feel comfortable... because i'm at a point in my life where, for the first time, i need to be conscious about what i eat. similar to a post above, i used to eat crap all the time and maybe do some activities here and there whenever i felt like it--meanwhile never gaining any weight. since i have a small asian-build, being 99-100 lbs is my ideal.
oh yeah, i used to be a vegetarian too! i kept it up for 2 years, but i realized a huuuuuge part of my slight weight gain was because of my unhealthy lifestyle. i replaced meat with excessive junkfood and that, in combination with quitting track (where i was used to eating carbscarbscarbs and never gaining), made me gain weight and realize that i was unhealthy.
this forum seems slightly unhealthy...you girls are already at a very dangerously low weight, i am 5'4 110-112 lbs and am very thin but healthy.
if you mean unhealthy as in my weight, let me tell you i'm perfectly "average" for an asian. though i'm well-muscled, i have a really small bone structure which explains my lower weight.
