I have a teeth/cavity/calcium question

Okay so its been 5 years since I have been to the dentist, I haven't had dental insurance Undecided, I still don't actually. But the other day I noticed I have a cavity, not in the normal "cavity zones" like not inside a tooth. Its actually on my lower tooth by my gun in the front of the tooth (hope that makes sense). I brush my teeth all the time and I use Listerine so I'm not quite sure how this happened. So I am trying to keep it really clean because I can't get into see the dentist until the 30th of this month! Ridiculous if you ask me, but what else can I do? Do you think it could be because I cut down on my calcium? Everyone I've talked to has never had a cavity there before, has anyone here? Is it unreasonable to be afraid my tooth could fall out before I get to the dentist? Lol, I have been brushing 3 times a day and rinsing with mouth wash after snacks and after I smoke is there anything else I should do? I know I sound paranoid but I have really good teeth and I hate that something is wrong with one. Thanks for the help/advice!

the smoking isn't helping your situation and I have to tell you that quitting would be a really good idea. It will improve your overall health and save you money (cigarettes are expensive and so are the medical problems they cause). Discuss it with your doctor.

Once a cavity is there there isn't much you can do to make it go away. Keep up the dental hygiene and you should probably use a soft bristle brush if you are brushing 3x a day (it is possible to wear your enamel by brushing to much or too hard), but call and ask your dentist's office first, I could be wrong.

Cutting down on calcium really shouldn't have led to the problem. If you are that calcium deficient you'd probable be have bone problems first.

May I asked why you cut down on your calcium?

Nothing in this post should be construed as medical advice and all suggestions should be personally discussed with a licensed healthcare provider (which, I'm not) before using them (i.e. face-to-face).
