155 lb 17-year-old looking to be 130 :) anyone have similar goals + want to be my buddy?

hey everyone :)

my name is sonya, and i'm new here. i'm 5'8", 17 years old, and looking to lose about 25 pounds in a maintainable way. i've tried calorie restriction before, and although i lost a lot of weight initially, I gained it all back the minute i went back to a normal diet (predictably enough haha).

soo..does anybody have similar goals who wants to be my online buddy? or..anyone have a success story or motivational tips to share?

thanks!

Wow, i totally understand how you feel, i lost 10 pounds it took me 3 weeks and i gained it right back on again in less then 1 week. I'm 5'2" 165 pounds hoping to get to at least 135 pounds in 3 months. Seems like a long shot, its hard for me my mom doesn't get lots of healthy food like fruits or veggies because we don't have lots of money. and i don't have time for breakfast some days so that doesn't help at all. but if you eat right watch your calories and exercise at least a little bit like i walk my dogs for 20 min a day and that doesn't help me but my matobulism is very slow. just hang in and remember to drink lots of water to wash the toxins out of your body and eat things like pineapple and lemons, then you will be healthy and eat spinach and things with fiber and iron to boost your mastabulism and you will do better.

Make sure you're getting enough calories a day - around 1800 - but try getting more of your calories from proteins and less from carbs and sugars.

Try eating more lean meats and more veggies, but cut out any starchy foods like potatoes and rice if you usually eat that for dinner. Also cut out fried foods and if you have a sweet tooth, save desserts for a reward at the end of the week for eating healthy during the week.

Also pay attention to portion sizes. You can eat what you want, in moderation, and still lose weight.

If you try getting more protein and fiber in your diet you will fill full on fewer calories and you won't feel like you're "dieting" or restricting yourself in any way and you'll be less likely to "yo-yo" then.

I have a slow metabolism too, but I find that I lose weight more easily when I cut as much sugar from my diet as possible, drink a lot of water,  and try to walk at least 30 minutes a day.

Good Luck!

I'm 17 (be 18 on the 26th woohoo!) and I'm 5'3" and weigh 147 lbs as of right now.  I'm trying to get down to 120.  I weighed about 140 like 2 years ago then lost down to 118 and was a normal healthy weight for my height.  Then I got a job at an ice/cream dairy store and gained it all back plus some lol.

so i'm determined to lose it and keep it off this time.

my tip?  Lots of water (like drink it constantly throughout the day) it helps curb hunger and flushes out your body.  Lots of fruits and veggies and plenty of protein.  Don't forget the exercise!  :]
