Granola cereal math question

Quote  |  Reply

I might be a teacher, but my kindergarteners don't do conversions like this :)

I use granola for my yogurt. There are 230 calories in 2/3 c. of the cereal. I use 1/8c. in my yogurt. How many calories is this?!

42.91 calories!  ;)

Anyway, simple proportions:  (0.67 cup / 230 calories) = (0.125 cup / x calories)

Cross multiply and solve for x:  0.67x = 28.75... So, x = 42.91

:)

thank you! Cool
