Monumental Moment!

All right, this is probably silly to share with you guys, but I had a special moment! Let me start from the beginning... There is this hiking trail about 45 minutes from where I live and my family and I would hike up it every Summer. My entire family on my dad's side, so lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles. We've been doing it ever since I was 4 years old, and it's just a nice family thing, we'd all take up a picnic lunch, hike up the trail and come back down. It's only a 2 mile hike and there's a nice lookout up top. Anyway, I remember my last year of High School I was unable to make it up. It was absolutely heart-breaking, I had to stop every few minutes and sit down, everyone got tired of waiting so a few stayed behind with me. I didn't cry but I wanted to, and I cried when I got home. It was odd because a lot of people in my family are overweight, but I guess I was just completely out of shape. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to make me want to lose weight, I ended up gaining 50 more pounds over the next 2 years. Since I moved out of my parents, I stopped going up with them, but since I've lost weight, 110 pounds so far, I was really excited this year to do it, and I did! I just about ran up that mountain!! It felt so great! I was leaving other people behind, lol. Not really, we all kept up with eachother, but I just wanted to cry with joy! I never got tired! Something I had done with my family for so long and then was unable to do hurt so much, but now I feel so great, my endurance level has really changed and it felt so good! I just wanted to share, thanks for reading people! Hehe

What an awesome achievement!!  And it's not silly at all!

Losing the weight is commendable and I admire anyone with the drive and discipline to make it happen and take control of their lives.    I firmly believe there's no 'final destination', whether it be the ideal weight or happiness - it's all in the journey and the milestones along the way.

You rock!!   Good for you!!Laughing

Congratulations! And I don't think it's silly at all. :-) I think it's awesome, as well as really healthy (for the body and mind) when people measure/see success in ways other than the number on the scale.

It sure isn't a silly thing to share. We all love to hear the good stories...and we all love to get some acknowledgement and praise for jobs well done. I'm sure your family was glad to have you back.

That is terrific. You should be so proud of yourself!

Do you have any tips for the rest of us trying to get where you are?

Congratulations!

It's not silly at all.

You should be very proud of yourself!

Fabulous!!  Good for you!  Thank you for sharing a successful and uplifting accomplishment of yours!!

Fantastic achievement!  And that's really why we all want to lose weight isn't it?  To be healthy, fit, and be able to do things like hike and climb mountains as easily as others.  The numbers on the scale are just numbers, but health and fitness are real tangibles.  Congratulations on your achievement, you have done wonderfully.

That's great!  You should be very proud.

Not silly at all! That rocks .... YOU rock!!!

Not silly! Very inspiring! Good for you, congrats!!!

What a great feeling!!  I am so happy for you!
