Hi,
I'm new to the site but wondered it anyone has similar issues. I sit at a computer all day and would like to eat healthier. I rarely eat fruit and vegetables but do like both. I just wasn't raised to include them at every meal. Does anyone any tips or advice? Thanks!
Yup. For years that was my issue. It was just easier to grab fast food or something else pre-made than to eat healthy. Honestly, it is a life change you have to have the willpower to make the life long commitment.
I eat mostly vegetables now (not a fruit fan). Egg whites and beans for protein (not a meat fan either). I eat breakfast every morning and bought a microwave veggie steamer to bring to the office. They make 'steam in the bag' frozen veggies now too. They're super convenient and quite tasty if you find a brand you like.
My turning point was a 'biggest loser' contest we had in my office. I was determined to win it. We started in January and it ended in Mid March. Initial weigh in I was 145 w/ a bmi of 26.5 (Im 5'4") I was very disheartened seeing that number on the scale. It made me more determined than ever to get healthy. I added weight training 2 days a week and cardio 2 -3 days a week. I am happy to say the plan has worked. I look and feel better than I ever have. I am 41 years old and I weigh 125. Less than I did in high school. I am determined to stay healthy and fit. I hope you're able to make the change and stick with it.
