first week
So I did this for a full week. It wasn't the best week to record considering I ate at summer festivals going on in the area most nights. It is a big week where I live for these events and spent the week eating carnival like food, but I learned a lot!
I am not planning on weighing myself for a week or two after doing this. I weigh 138 so it's hard for me to lose a pound and I don't want to get discouraged...yet anyway.
I don't know how you do it, but I wrote down my deficit every day and figured it out for the week. I had a little less than 3,000 for the week, so I didn't quite make a pound loss. :(
One thing I learned about where the extra calories comes from is eating out! We grabbed Boston market yesterday for lunch...thought this was a better alternative tan Mighty Taco...and I ordered the chicken carver sandwich on multi grain THINKING I was doing a good thing.well 640 calories later..not so much. It is insane how many calories are in restaurant food!

It is an eye-opener! There's a thread going at the moment about NYC posting calorie-counts in restaurant menus which I think rather misses the point. Which is that if you're serious about losing weight it pays not to eat out too often... anywhere! :-) Stated calorie counts only have to be 80% accurate anyway so a 640 cal sandwich could be anything up to 800 in reality. All adds up.
BTW... losing 1/2 - 1lb a week is a respectable weight-loss if you've got less than 10% of your body-weight to lose.
