Thanks in advance.
Many thanks. yes, please. I need help. I am desparate to get some help. the whole thing makes me feel so bad. Basically, I have a yeast infection for a long time. I didn't do anything about it and I do think it is now a serious problem that is affecting my diet.
I started to lose weight for the first time in my life since last March but I was always tired and had fatigue. A blood test showed that I have a yeast and many bacteria.
the big problem now is I carve sweets, bread and any baked food like crazy. do you think this is because of a candida overgrowth? I don't know what to do and I am stuck. I am actually gaining a lot of fat because of the binges on muffins and cakes.
Please help.
There are several really good books about Candida and what to eat/not to eat to get rid of it. You have to cut out all sugar!! My friend had it and had to work very hard to get rid of it, but she did.
Search Amazon.com or visit a health food store or Whole Foods if you have one near you.
the diet is very limited and I couldn't stand it for one day.
Hi again, OK...I did a little reading and here's a few things I found:
http://altmedicine.about.com/od/popularhealth diets/a/candidadiet.htm
The first link has excellent information about candida. Second link looks to be one of the best books to have a look at.
I hope this helps and you get yourself well soon!!
Bringing candida under control is not easy nor is it necessarily pleasant, but with commitment and perseverance, it can be done.
I sincerely hope there was not bacteria and yeast in your blood, or else you'd need to be in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Do you mean in the urine, I hope??
Just as an aside the mainstream medical community thinks sytemic Candida is a load of crap. They may be wrong, but just sayin'.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!
after a urine test, I found out that there is a yeast present. the doctor didn't comment or anything but he just said that I should see a specialist
I have been craving sugar and bread like crazy and gained a lot of weight. I want to find out if this is because of the yeast or it is just that I can't control my appetite?
I also suffered from fatigue most of the time before and after CC. I don't know what to do. I mean is it worth it to give up all the fruit and to be on a STRICT diet ? maybe I am imagining things ? that is why I wanted to ask some one who had similar experience.
kist6084: I wish I could talk to your friend about this:) a year is too long for me to be on a candida diet. some people say it is only 4 weeks. I am really confused.
your fatigue was a major issue when you were dieting (eating LESS sugar + carbs); as you posted before, as soon as you started binging + eating thousands of calories/day, your dizziness and fatigue got better (as everyone had been telling you for a while, your calories were way too low) - based on the "candida theory", if your problems were caused by an overgrowth of yeast, eating more carbs and sugar would make it WORSE, not better.
fatigue is a non-specific, universal symptom. until you try getting more sleep for a prolonged period of time, there's no way to attribute it to ANY illness (e.g. liver disease, candida, etc.)
I have decided to get a normal balanced diet after I tried to follow the strict candida diet and simply I couldn't. whether I have a yeast overgrowth or not, I will not follow this. it is not practical. I was like OK, if i have some yeasts that want to be fed, I will feed them and feed myself.. :))
My biggest challenge now is going back to the gym. It is a bit difficult with the constipation and the bloated gut that I have these days.I also lost my period.
Anyway, I knew that losing weight is not that easy.
i know plenty of people who have had a lot of success with this diet. It should be used as a cleanse and not a "diet" though. Set your goal for a week cleanse following the eating guidelines and using:
grapefruit seed extract: 4 drops or so in a glass of water. (i add lemon juice because it is so bitter)
Activated Charcoal
and pro biotics like acidiphilus.
When you give yourself a timed goal, it's soooo much easier to be success ful.
I personally find it manageable, minus the fact that you can't drink!
I know this post might be a day late + a dollar short....But after finding it I simply had to reply!!!!!!!!
Your symptoms are reallllly common for people who suffer with candida overgrowth in the digestive tract and I have experienced the very same thing!!!! The bloating of the gut and the losing of the period and whatnot....
Sorry to tell you the cold truth but....Although the diet may be impractical, if you don't do it, the symptoms get worse and worse and worse and WORSE til you can't stand life anymore! Supplements help, but they're really not much use to you if you don't change your diet....You're still feeding the yeast and it can become something really debilitating. Probiotics and supplements like olive leaf, oil of oregano, caprylic acid, garlic extract, and grapefruit seed extract are excellent for treating candida overgrowth, but they're just a waste if you're feeding the yeast!
And I don't understand why you're so worried about losing weight and going to the gym but not concerned about doing what you have to do to get the candida overgrowth in check. Simply put: You will not be able to lose weight if you don't take care of the candida overgrowth! Candida, if left untreated, will make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE for you to lose weight. Not just because of the extreme sugar/carb cravings it causes, but because of the digestive problems, water retention and lethargy it causes...It can also cause you to develop insensitivities to foods(which happened to me) and cause you to gain weight. TRUST ME....If you think it's hard to deal with the symptoms now, they'll only get MUCH worse.
The Candida Diet may sound difficult, but you'll find it easier after some time...The reason it's so difficult at the beginning is because the yeast inside you gives you massive sugar + carb cravings. The only way to stop the cravings and make weightloss easier is to STARVE THE YEAST, otherwise the cravings will become much more violent and frequent! And honestly...It can get to a point where you avoid the sugar and carbs and whatnot, and exercise a lot(which happened to me), but the scale won't budge because of the mess in your digestive system...And that my friend, is a HORRIBLE state to put yourself in.
My advice is to swear-off the sugary and processed foods!!! Start embracing VEGETABLES and eating WHOLE FOODS. Start treating the candida with supplements and clean-up your diet, and start healing from the inside....You'll be much happier in the long-run.
I suggest you see a specialist as soon as possible, rather than treating yourself. From a trusted resource such as the Mayo Clinic they say not to outright accept the intestinal candida diagnosis as there is little evidence linking the candida cleansing diet to symptom alleviation etc. Read about it here:
