Looking for Accountability Buddy?

Quote  |  Reply

I'm 28 years old, and have about 40 lbs to lose.  My baby is now 2 yrs old so I can't really blame it on him anymore :)  I am a very avid exerciser and now need to concentrate on my caloric intake.  Anyone want to hang with me through this?  The slow weight loss is very difficult for me.  Its hard to stay motivated.  I am also battling emotional eating/bingeing.  I am giving up the scale (leads to my binges). I plan to do a 10K in April and plan on focusing on that instead of the numbers on the scale.

Talk to me!

I'm here for you if you need me . I also need an accountability Buddy lol. I tried another site similar to this one (it's called spark people) and I quit before I even started. I have an 8 month old and I can't blame her for my weight any more. I have a serious problem with controling my sweet intake. I have to lose 20lbs and i'm having a real hard time remembering my diet when i see a pack of cookies.

Maybe if we have each other we can follow through..

Karian

Sounds good, Karian.  I remember after having my son I was out of control with sweets for at least a year.  I was afraid I'd developed diabetes or something.  It did pass, but it took a diet of shakes to do it.  I drank shakes everyday for 2 weeks and it sure cured my sweet tooth!  Here's my plan:

1) 2 high intensity workouts per day (30 min each)

2) More protein, less refined carbs

3) No carbs right after workouts

4) Drink green tea

5) More fruits, veggies and beans

Good luck to us!

I would love to join you guys too! My name is Shannon and I am 25. My baby is now 5 months old (this is my second, my other is 4) and I need to lose 25-30 lbs. I just started "dieting" again yesterday. I have found the South Beach Diet frozen entrees and I am in love!!! I take them to work and they are good and keep me full. Let me know if I can join you for accountability!!!

I would also love to join if the offer is still there!  My name is Lynette and I am 22.  I have been able to lose 20 lbs in the past year and just need a little help for that final 10lbs.  I have a 2 year old and after having her I started having trouble losing the baby weight.  I am a very active person who downhill skis, swims, and plays softball, I also love going to the gym and have a goal of running 10K by the summer.  I have ran a few 5K's in the past and would like to step it up a bit.  My long term goal a half marathon but I have a long way to go.  Time is one of my problems as I am in university and very busy.  Also, diet is a major weakness.  I love fast food and treats and really need to work on staying within my calorie limits.  Just let me know if I can join you guys and how it works:)

Lynn

Count me in. I need an accountability partner really bad!!!!! I sent 2 invites and hope to hear from them oon. While I wait you can add me please. I would love it.

All are welcome!  What should we call our thread so we can recognize it?  How about FitMommas on a mission?

Small victories count:  parked in far corner of parking lot and took the 4 flights of stairs to my floor instead of the elevator!  Off to a great start of the day!  Already had my some green tea and I'm signing up for a 10K today!

Have a healthy and fit day, Ladies!

Hey!  I'm the mom of 4 so I get the whole moms on a mission thing!  I had my last pregnancy 6 years ago (twins) so I also gave up blaming my weight on the boys.  I love to exercise but can't always fit it into my schedule.  I ran a marathon in 2005 (a gift to myself) and then stopped running.  I'm trying to get back to my old motivated ways so I'd be proud to join the group.

Today is my first time ever loggin on to a site like this, so I may be slow with the process.  How do I join the thread?

I think we just look for this thread each day and keep on replying.  Sorry, I'm new at this too.  Anyone know a better way to get on this thread daily?

Welcome, mom of four!  Gracious!  I thought my house was crazy!

Sorry I'm new at this too and am not sure how everything works.  Do we just click on your profile to find the thread FitMomma's on a mission? (ps I like the name:) )

Hi I'm new here.  Just discovered this site yesterday.

I think Paige and I are the same person.  I have all the same issues as you.  I'm 29, with a 3 1/2 year old.  I'm 165 lbs with my first goal of 140.  So 25lbs to lose.  I work out about 3 times and week and can easily run a 5K, but I'm an emotional eater.  I need someone to be accountable too.  Also I want to train to run a 10K right now with the hopes of maybe even someday doing a marathon.

I also would love to join in with you guys! I am a mother of two, my youngest is 4 1/2 months old. I have found that the older I get, the harder it is to keep off. I def need an accountability partner because my husband and son are both thin, so I am the only one in the house with a weight issue-- that makes it harder to stick with my diet and exercise! I would like to lose about 25 pounds, if not more.
Love the name. Good thinking Paige! I think just adding on to this thread is a great idea. I think we can start a group somehow, which may make it easier. I'll look into it. Looks like we all have about 25 lbs to lose, which is what I have to lose too! I'll let you all know on the group thing...

So, the group function is "coming soon" it says. So adding to the thread it is! So, when is eveyone's goal weight date? Or any other goals besides weight? I see Paige you are running a 10K in April...maybe a goal finish time?  I'm at 158 right now, hoping to be 135 by April 15th. Wishful thinking, but doable I think!!! I just picked up some of the Kirkland weight loss shakes at Costco last night, It was a great breakfast on the go this morning! And I have South Beach frozen meals at work to resist the fast food trips everyone always takes for lunch.
