Hi Everyone,
I'm 31 years old with approximately 30lbs to loose (well 32lbs to be exact!). I've yo-yo dieted for as long as I can remember. About 7yrs ago I lost about 75lbs and since then I've been up and down the same 15lbs. I just can't seem to stick with anything. The only thing I'm dedicated too - is working out - whether I'm eating like crap or not, I ALWAYS work out.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Punta Cana in March and I sure would love to loose at least 15lbs before than!
More than anything - I think I need to be accountable. So if I've got a buddy that I'm reporting to and someone that is checking in on me and making me accountable, I think I'll have much greater success.
I look forward to adding some new friends!
Good luck to all!
Hey there, welcome. More that happy to be a buddy to help you get to your goal.
I have around 20 lbs to loose already lost 20 lbs. I have struggled with the yo-yo effect most of my adult life. Man the crap diets I've tired. I guess we could all put our hands up to that one I seem to have the all or nothing approach to food and exercise.
Let me know if you want to be a buddy
I just added you!
So... Your job as a buddy is to kick my ass as needed! LOL... Remind me of how awful it is to be in a bathing suit with jiggly white thighs!
Hopefully that will keep me in line!!!
Hi - I am 34 (35 in less than a month) and I have 25 lbs to lose!! There is another group of us that have been talking, too, about this same age group. I will find the thread and send you the link :-)
Good luck everyone!!
Amy
Hi Carsha
i am 31 years old too and want to loose 40lbs i would love to be your buddy, lets do it together! Goodluck!
Hey
I'm 29 and have about 38 more to lose. I'm going on a cruise in February and figure that at 2 lbs a week I have about another 12 lbs that I should be able to hopefully squeeze off by then. I have managed to maintain over Christmas so now back to taking off the lbs!
My goal is 180 by my 30th birthday in June - down from the 235 I was in November. (I'm now about 218.) I'm also about 6' tall. So eventually I need to be either a toned 180 or a skinnier 160. I'm aiming for the former once I get back to weights in the gym.
Buddies are always helpful - since it helps to have more than just myself to be accountable to!
Hi,
I'm 32 and am planning to lose about 15 pounds. My husabnd bought me my favorite pair of jeans for Christmas in my style and size and they didn't fit. It was pretty eye openning for both of us. I guess we have been eating nonstop since our wedding in September. He didin't fit into any of his new stuff eather. Time to get things back on track before the real baby making talk gets started. I'd love to be your buddy and help you get to Punta Cana at your goal. I could use some support. I am ususally gung ho, up until about 6:30 in the evening or after I lose a few pounds. Keep me on the staight and NARROW and I'll do the same for you guys.
Hey Carsha - Yeah I started at about 175 lbs also. I quickly lost 10 lbs then it's been more difficult. Everyone says the closer you get to goal the harder it is to take the weight off. And of course the holidays do not help :-)
I did 2 hours of exercise yesterday and burned about 600 cals, and I ate quite a lot yesterday too. I wish exercise didn't cause me to be so freakin hungry!! :) Today I am planning on working out again, I am just waiting for my friend to call me.
For me one of the biggest things that helps me is logging my food here. Even if I eat poorly I am so much more conscious of how much I am eating, if I log it. I had fallen off that wago for a few weeks but now I am doing it again.
That's so nice! I got like 15 pounds to loose. I went from 180 to 150 then to 142 and then up to 150 again and the past 3 days I haven't ran at ALL and now I'm a bit nervous for tomorrow but hopefully it all goes well.
I would like to be your buddy even though I'm like half your age.
I need help with over eating. I tend to snack on cakes and sweets through out the day. Like I'll finish a meal and then I feel like some cake or something and then I get eating again. It's totally annoying by afternoon I've eaten more calories than I'm supposed to.
Good luck with weight loss!

I'm just waiting til I get back home on Thursday, then I have about 5 weeks until my sister's wedding so it will be time to get serious again.
Hope you all are having a good day, (not even going to talk about what I've been eating today, indian buffet lunch, need I say more...)

Hi everyone! I went to the gym and did 2 classes yesterday. I was super duper sore today so I went walking. I ended up walking for 2 hours and then eating 2 homemade grilled cheese sandwiches!! YUM!! I am doing everything in 2's this weekend :-)
It feels to get active again, and I've been logging my food consistently for the past few days too. Yesterday I ate a ton but I logged everything so I think even though I pigged out, I ate less than I otherwise would have...
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!! I will check in again later tonight.

I am a 31 yr old also trying to lose weight, 37lbs for my goal weight of 135. I would love some support as well!
This sounds just like me!
I lost 54 lbs in '05, then gained 80 during pregnancy. And I keep yo-yo dieting. I eat so much, then I LOATHE the eating and starve for a while. It's a terrible cycle.
I'm just starting today!
I'm with ya girl!

very similar stuff :) I wonder if we should try to combine forces???
Hi Carsha,
Our stories are quite similar. 5 years ago, I weighed 246 lbs. Now I'm at 167 and have been trying to lose the final 30 for at least two years...unsuccessfully. While I'm thankful not to have ballooned back up to my original weight, I struggle to push past "maintenance mode." I'll lose 3-4 lbs, then gain it back, lose it, gain it...the cycle is ongoing.
I also work out frequently. It makes me feel healthy, strong, and positive. However, I find it sometimes causes me to allow myself too much liberty with what I eat. I'll tell myself, "You ran 45 minutes...have some cookies...again!" And thus I've negated the benefit of my exercise.
I'm also a teacher, and there are perpetual dessert trays in the teacher's lounge; sweets are my weakness! Help! I need a buddy too...the final 30 must come off...it's high time!
Wow today running was killer but I made it through! How's everyone else's weight loss going through?
I told myself yesterday that I will start eating right and today I managed to eat a pretty good breakfast: Pita bread, yogurt, poached egg, 1/2 tbs olive oil and an orange. I barely eat eggs but they always leave me feeling full. A trainer from school told me you should eat protein first so your body doesn't quickly take in the sugar from the food you eat right after.
Hope everyone's doing well. =)
