Paul McKenna
Okay I know this is a calorie counting site however I was wondering if any here has tried Paul McKenna's I can make you thin and if it worked for them, how long it took etc?
I can't seem to stick with calorie counting but this thing just seems to have no control at all. I'm sceptical and don't want to submit my brain to the hypnosis of paul without doing some research. So hit me people.

Okay well, i searched paul's name...and watched some really good clips on youtube!!!!can't wait for tommorrow to see if it helps...He has a really good theory, of eating conciously , eating when your hungry, eating what you want, but stop eat eating when your full, with lots of visualization...ooo i think it will work...
and it was so interesting, he did an experiment where five people got a big breakfast one day, they ate everything on their plate, the next day they got the exact same breakfast, but ate with blindfolds on, and ate alot less!
Glad I saw this post, and glad I watched those videos!thanx

i thought about this a while ago, posted on here but no one had used him. A few people came back with info on hypnotherapists that had successfully used. I was going to book a session he was holding in London but at £300 i wanted some positive feedback first
I think the Paul idea is about changing your mindset and thinking positivley so i guess its a long term change to your attitude which should help if you have long term over eating problems.
If you do give it a go please do post back your results as id love to know what happened.

His book is fairly fascinating and his case studies are great but I dunno it all seems a little too good to be true. He's got like 4 golden rules which are like, eat what you want, when you want, eat when your hungry, stop when you're full, conciously enjot every mouth. along those lines. It just seems so easy and then stupidly difficult to put into practice lol. I'll give it a go and post my results, health addict if you're giving it a go please keep updating me.
Okay well..today was the first day i tried it...and i must say i did good....after lunch i had huge cravings for something sweet....i had an oatmeal to go in my hand, openened it, took one small bite, stopped myself...and did the tapping thing...and my craving was gone, hah i threw it in the garbage...felt good!
Okay well....i must say, i am eating mostly veggies, complex carbs, vegetarian proteins, and fruits and exercising.....and im trying to cut down my portions with his golden rules......
I think if your eating junk, and using his golden rules you'll lose wieght, but without exercise and a healthy diet you won't get to the weight that is ideal...also you'll feel like crap!!!

:)
I tried the hypnosis CD and It was mightily relaxing. I haven't tried the tapping thing yet. I'm just trying to slowly adjust to the rules.

I tried out his four golden rules on breakfast this morning after watching the show last night and I have to say I was pretty impressed.
I made the same size portion that I have been normally eating every morning. I took my time and put down my fork after each bite and concentrated on what I was eating with no distractions. I ate just under half of what I had been eating! I was full. I felt satisfied and didn't feel like I wanted to take another bite. I was a bit shocked to be honest. I'm going to keep at it for at least the next few weeks and see if I drop any pounds from this.
Any one else try it?
