Burn Meter Question

Quote  |  Reply

Can anyone explain why the burn meter keeps changing?  Let me explain..

I have just started, and will only officially start counting calories tomorrow (set up account today and needed to become familiar with process).

So given that I have not started to log any food...calorie intake remains at 0...but the burn meter keeps changing everytime I happen to look at my account.

Comments...and apologize in advance if this is not making any sense/

speaking of the burn meter, do you add your job as an additional activity or is that taken into account when you set up your profile?

The top Burn Meter number is your estimated calories burned for the day.

The bottom number (bigger number) is the estimated calories burned up to the point that you are looking at the Burn Meter.  So the more into the day you are, the more calories you have burned.

 Surprised

Thanks a bunch!

DID you account for workouts when you set your burn meter.  It is based on the information you gave.  i.e. height, weight, age, whether you are active, sedentary, all those questions go into the figure at the top of the burn meter.

I, personally, did not account for my workouts.  So, when I do workout I add the approximate calories burned on that day. When I am not working out I do a lot of sitting around so I chose to put my life as sedentary, and then on days I do work out (which is 5x a week) I add that to by burn meter.

My basic burn meter number is 1500.  On days I workout that can, and does go over 2100!

I hope, by explaining what I do gives you a better idea!

Good luck and Happy New Year!
