Hi all
I've been on this site for nearly a month now and have lost 6 pounds. I'm still learning all the wonderful things you can do on the site and have just started to reply to some posts....and then I realised...I'm a billy-no-mates!
I am 35 (mentally about 12), have one gorgeous 11 year old daughter, been divorced twice and am now finally in a healthy relationship. I work in IT, like netball and want a dog. I talk too much and sneeze too loud.
I'm enjoying giving other people support, so if you want to be one of the many kicks up my a@* then 'friend me' (or whatever it is).
Take care and good luck everyone xxx
Hi and congrats on losing 6lbs!
I'm in England as well, but San Francisco is home! :)
Hi Redkitty
San Francisco sounds wonderful, I'd love to do a proper tour of the States one day. Poor you being over here, you must like rain or something :-)
Hi, I am also from UK, and also a billy no mates! I have been reading forums here for a few weeks but have only just posted.
I started on the diet on 7th jan, and have lost 9 lb so far. I decided it was time to do something when my latest jeans were too tight after xmas and i only got them in sept! i am studying and working from home so i had started to become a lazy slob. I have got off my butt now and i am doing 2 mile walks a couple of times a week and a fitness DVD on 2 other days. i feel much better for it already.
i am also 35, been married for just under 2 years., no kids. i have 2 guinea pigs that get more of their 5 a day (fruit and veg) than i do!! I am currently writing up my PhD thesis and i hope to work in medical research.
Hi there!
I'm Vicki, aged 34, have 3 kids (son 11, daughter 9 and another daughter 7) been divorced and now remarried.
You sound like a fun gal so I'm gonna add you seeing as you said it was OK ![]()
Cheers!
Vicki ~
Hello All, I'm also from the UK and a newbie, I've been reading some very helpful forums and now i've decided to post. ![]()
I started my 'healthy eating' plan, (i've been told not to call it a diet, as you're more likely to fail, don't know why myself) the beginning of Jan and so far lost 7lbs.
I decided it was time to start 'healthy eating' when i saw pictures of myself looking a bit larger than normal. My driving instructor told me of this website as his wife is currently on here and she lost 1 stone in 3 weeks, so i thought i'd give it ago.
Good luck to you all XxX
Hi everyone. Another here from the UK - I don't think there are too many of us on this site ! I am the person Laura (above post) mentioned. I joined on Jan 11th and have lost 18 lbs so far. I think this site is wonderful - I love the journals and the support and motivation from all the other people. I fill in my food log religiously and the only time I have gone over my 1200 cals was last night (too much wine) but I think I was allowed as it's my birthday today !
Good luck to all x
Is that it? Just 6 people from the UK? Well I'm the 7th, and hey guess what? I'm not a girl!!!! Good luck everyone with the calorie counting. It's the only method that ever works for me. Problem is - when I reach my target I usually spend 18 months putting it all back on again. A pound a week gain and before you know it you are back in that wobbly zone.
I've been counting now for 6 weeks and I'm driving everyone mad with the religious approach I have taken, but if I don't take an interest like this then it becomes a chore, and we all hate chores don't we.
Happy counting. Ian.
Hello all and thank god there are a few more us on here. I've been on for a month and did begin to think I was the only one. I'm 5ft 3 210lbs or in our lovely English terms 15st im 28 and have one hell of a way to go. I've lost 7lbs so far but if I am really honest my calorie counting is poor to say the least. I have now joined a gym and have a regular programme 4 times a week. Its all cardio so far but I'm going by what the instructors there say as I am no expert and that is what they are paid for. . I'm with you flora_laura diet / lifestyle change same difference if you ask me, it all basically means watching what goes in that mouth of mine and trying to take the healthy choice rather than the bad one my husband wafts under my nose!
Good luck to you all on this lifestyle quest lets hope we all stay on the wagon.
Hey cherrywild, I just loved Granada! Spain is my favorite country, we plan on retiring there eventually! My icon picture is from our trip to Ibiza last year. ![]()
We have a UK thread in the lounge somewhere, we should all try to post on it and keep it active! I'll go find it and bump it up!
Hi! I'm in Wales and started here a few weeks ago to help shift a few pounds that didn't want to budge before I could get into my ball dress, but more so to get fit and healthy, and to find out if I have actually been eating enough (I have to have a very restricted diet as I'm sensitive to a LOT of foods) This site is amazing! Quite often I've found someone who's asked the same question I wanted to :)
Anyways I'm 29, divorced, at university, and have a wonderful 9yr old daughter who is now bi-lingual. I'm also going to start the Couch to 5K challenge that was recommended in another thread.... coolrunning.com
Good luck!
