I'm hoping someone can help me out with this!

On my screen it says:

 Burn Meter

Total Est: 2300

Then under that it says 1982 calories, or something of that nature...

 I updated my activities with working out on the elliptical and basic every day stuff like playing with my little one.

Can someone please explain to me what these numbers mean?
