What's your weight loss pet pieve?

Quote  |  Reply

I have a couple

1. My roommate LOST weight by not thinking about calories and only eating when she was hungry. She would eat until she's full, and just stop. And this would account to like, 1200 calories. She's like, 5'5" and 108 right now. She went abroad last spring to Spain and she was 115 then.. she said that was when she would constantly thing about weight. It pisses me off how losing weight can come natural for her!

2. When eating a SMALL piece of cheesecake takes an hour of vigorous running on the elliptical to redeem myself.

3. When losing water weight isn't actually fat.

When people are afriad to push themselves to the brink to get "good" results, then complain that things aren't working at all for them.

Lean Cuisine.

'nuff said.

when people say they're fat when they're already at the low end of a healthy weight!

When food chains won't make their food nutrition available!

-when someone else in my family is losing more weight than I am. It makes me all cranky and competitive.

-skinny girls eating muffins

-when no one comments on your weight loss even though it's obvious and you really, really wish they would.

I hate always having to weigh stuff and work out calories of things all the time. It was ok at first but now I'm just bored and annoyed at it.

1. Over weight friends who tell me "you dont need to loose weight you look good"

thanks for the compliment but i'd look better if i finished loosing the weight, its my body i know what i'm comfortable at and you dont see me naked! i know what jiggles that shouldn't

2. People who tell me i'm starving/depriving myself for superficial reasons!

i eat anywhere from 1200-1500 cal a day thats my range to still loose weight, have wiggle room, not feel starved and i can eat alot of nutritional food with in those limits and yes i want to look good but i'd prefer to not develope diabetes heart disease ect before i turn 30 both of which run in my immediate family

3. Over weight people who are always saying i need to loose weight, i need to work out, i'm fat

stop complaining get off your but and do something about it! i'm not gonna tell you your not fat or over weight to make you feel better.  its unhealthy and i'm working very hard to change it so why would i justify your unhealthy life style if i'm working so hard to change mine

hehe i hav a couple i could add

1) when people take the mick out of overweight people at the gym, at least they're trying to do something about it

2) when the food nutrition is nt avalible somewhere

3)people who complain that they're fat when they know darn well they arent

4) the way friends tell me off for drinking diet drinks as apposed to full sugar ones and are really serious

My roommate likes to eat poptars, hop&go's, nacho's, sugary cereal (she's only 115).  I mean, it sucks cuz all that food is there on top of the regular food, and its soo hard not to eat it since I've paid my share for it too.

Two Bite Brownies who have 90 calories in one tiny brownie Frown.

1. People that are more focussed on other people when they should actually be thinking of their own health and achievements.

2. People that would rather go without a treat and be unhappy than put some additional effort in across a week and treat themselves and be happy.

3. People that forget they are a person and not a statistic based on numbers.

4. People that tell me I am losing weight when it is in fact a side effect of becoming healthier to me.

someone just said to me (i lost about 38 pounds) that it is good that she has pushed me to do it.

SHE DID NOT!

she wanted to lose some weight at about the same time as me, and i found it motivating to talk about it with her, but she never ever said "go lose weight", just complained about hers, and that was it.

SHE IS TAKING CREDIT FOR YM HARD WORK

The fact that it takes so long (for me, anyway)

Friends who insist on going out to eat practically every day

Cookies.

Where do I start....

big one for me...people who have unrealistic goals...'oh I am 5'7 and want to be 115 lbs'...that bugs me alot and unfortunately as much as I love this site and find it helpful, it is flooded with people who want to do that to themselves...

I like more realistic goals..5"3 start 184lbs Jan 2, currently 155lbs, and a goal weight of 135-140 (age 34 mother of three and medium build with D's)

girlfriends of mine who are younger who can shovel the food in and not see an ounce...go figure :)

My rant for the day!  Whew

I love feeling the weightloss in my clothes, but I hate being at an inbetween stage. My clothes are too baggy (probably need to invest in a belt for these times) and other jeans are so tight I give myself the muffin top.

But I sure love my new energy, and my body although I am only half way there.

My boyfriend is like this, and I used to be jealous but I now outshine him in physical activities. Not to mention his family is notorious for Diabetes. I tell him all the time that although you are skinny it doesn't mean you aren't ruining your body in the long run.

1. portions, everywhere, be it made at home, bought at grocery, eating out..  portions are always too big.  (on the bright side, they never were big enough for me)... as a side note, unrealistic serving sizes (a 12 oz bottle of soda with an 8 oz serving size)

2. as has already been stated... availability of nutritional information.  Yes, I know I went out and ate the rack of lamb with bread and veggies and it was a lot of calories, but how bad was it really?  I don't want to look at your recommendations for eating healthy at your establishment, I want to know what to put in my log without guessing!

3. people that eat my food (not the fruit that I bought too much of, my yogurt that should have been 1/2 my breakfast for a week and a half)

4. people that complain about needing to goto the gym but never make the time for it.  (specifically when they have time for it and you know it)

My husband.

Who can eat three times as much as me, and that huge three-person serving is of calorie and fat-laden foods that I can't touch, and never gains a damn pound.

(I do love his skinny ass, though.)

hello this is my first post so.....i thought it would be good to vent a littleYell

1. i absolutely hate when someone that is smaller or thinner or more fit than me talks like they are whales and how crappy they are cus they weigh what they do.........what must they think of me then????????

2. i also dislike when a thin person (who has NEVER had a weight problem) thinks just because you are trying to lose weight that they can tell you exactly what you are doing wrong and how to fix it..........like i may not have thought of just....i don't know, eating less like i have no brain

3. but i think my biggest peeve is when someone says they will be there as a support system and help through the ruff spots and then tries to sabotage you so they don't feel bad for trying so hard or giving up.

thanks for the rant!!!Sealedi'm done now!!!

1) When someone is upset because they've "only" lost 4 pounds in three weeks. You're doing great averaging one pound weight loss per week. You should feel great about your success.

2) When I suddenly gain weight because it's that time of the month and I have to remind myself it's fine. There's nothing wrong, but I still feel disheartened

3) When the judges on Dancing with the Stars over score and overpraise a performance.  Off topic and nothing to do with weight loss, but a pet peeve of mine. :)

1. People who say they CAN'T lose weight, CAN'T eat healthy or CAN'T exercise. Don't say you CAN'T say "I don't WANT to!" At least that is honest.

2. People who make comments about what I eat or don't eat. "Oh right, YOU don't eat sugar or cake or french fries." How about being supportive people!!!

3. People who act like my children are somehow deprived because I don't let them eat fast food or a lot of junk food.

oh god, i HATE when i say that i don't eat fast food or junk food people look at me like i'm crazy because obviously i'm overweight so i must eat all of that s**t, right? WRONGGG. I am on a well balanced diet and i only eat foods that are healthy for me. just because i'm not super skinny doesn't mean i don't eat right! i just haven't lost ALL the weight yet.

oh, and i can't talk about food with my dad any more. i called him yesterday because i was eating almonds and getting hives, and my sister is allergic to walnuts but i thought it was almonds and i was calling to make sure. i said i've been eating a lot of almonds lately and RIGHT away he says "oh god alex, dont you know how fattening almonds are for you?" yes dad, i do know that, but having a handful of almonds after my workout for protein to help build muscle is NOT fattening. i don't tell my dad that i'm dieting because he will scrutinize everything i do because he lost 12 pounds after stopping drinking soda so he obviously is the weight loss king. UGH! and i make sure i can eat a LOT when i go to my dads because hes a great cook, so i conserve my calories before i head to his house, and when i eat a lot, automatically i am fat, but little does he know i've only eaten 500-600 calories so far that day AND worked out for an hour haha he's such a downer!
