For some reason I'd thought it was a Brittish comedy and I knew nothing going in. The swearing on the show is particularly funny, not that I normally find it so. I dont know whats funnier - the show or him.
One of the interviews (starts HERE) was 8 video series and I was surfing while listening to it in the background but realized I was missing out on his expressions - he is such a trip to watch that I switched over to actually view them too.
My mate introduced me to Curb Your Enthusiasm and lent me the first two seasons - is there like 10 now? I dunno, I don't think its aired on UK TV anymore/at the moment.
Yeah, so I absolutely wet myself with laughter. But its the kind of thing that doesn't suit everyones fancy, its a certain kind of humour. My favourite moment is when he makes a comment about Wanda's ass when he drives past her( "I'd recognise that ass anywhere") and Wanda and Cheryl confront him at home. I'm like crying thinking about it! Great stuff.
So what are you going to watch now sun? My suggestion would be The Office (UK) and Extras.
I saw Juno two weeks ago or so (BitTorrent). It was alright. I had high hopes for it and was let down a little. That's what I get for having high hopes though huh?
Our tastes are really similar eh? Pretty cool.
I love this show - too many things to point anything specific, but I have loooots of sympathy for Cheryl ;) There are countless moments when I say to myself - "she must REALLY love this guy";)
I unfortunately fell asleep during Comedy Centrals night of too many stars but hope to catch it late late tonight. Its an autism telethon and at one point a caller named Larry (hmmm) called in. The audience didnt even catch his voice which is SO obvious until they put "Larry" with his pic at the bottom of the screen. Apparantly he had issue with the gifts for donations being given but coincidentally Susie from the show took over the call and you can imagine where it went from there. He ends up threatening to come down to the studio and then walks on stage for a brief cameo, still in Curb character.
Regarding Cheryl, a discussion of the show mentioned how having her makes people see this cranky character also as possible a lovable one too.
Best show ever.
I have Curb's theme-song as my ringtone.
Part 1
Part 2
It gets better after starting off too and certain moments are spot on.
