Hey everyone.  Thanks for making the transition over here.  We have to stick together and stay strong.  Bathing suit season and smoldering hot temps are on their way and we wanna look even steamier.  I encourage everyone to still post their weight loss when they weigh in but I'm not going to make it a challenge or a goal for us.  We just want to congratulate your on your triumphant success.  Good luck!

I'm still interested, not only interested but committed.  I'm almost though my third week and still on track.  Tomorrow will be my first no count calorie day, we have out monthly covered dish supper for our Boat-Camping Club.  I plan to have a small serving of everything I want and a piece of dessert. (small).  I have cut back a little this week knowing I am going to over indulge on Saturday. I swam a extra 15 minutes yesterday also and will again tomorrow or Sunday.  I only eat what I plan to, no nibbling between meals or sampling at the stove.  I weigh in on Monday so will post then.

Still with ya'll! Took me bit to find the thread! lol

I check in everyday, but haven't had much time to post. I will try to do better at that tho! I am fine with Monday weigh in's. Another group I joined died off, so I guess the day I weigh in doesn't matter all that much.

Still doing well & found Leslie's 3 mile Walk with belt. Also got a pedometer. I am pretty impressed how excited & determined I am about exercise. It is so wonderful to finally be successful at getting control over food & my life....rather than it controlling me!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! It is supposed to rain all weekend here. yay.

Followed you over jericho...Smile

I only lost one pound this week though. Cry

So here's my stats in case you can't find them...

Starting weight 266 lbs

Weight last week 255 lbs

Weight today 254 lbs

I don't know what happened...I had such a momentum going there for awhile. Well...guess I'll have to start watching my calories a little bit better or something. Cause M-F I'm biking 10 miles now and burning about 419 calories. This next week, for sure, I'm going to start strength training. I've been putting it off...bein' lazy! Undecided

Well, I'm new here and figured I'd say "hello". I'm not sure if this group is exclusive so please feel free to tell me if I'm not supposed to be here.

Anyway, I have approximately 100lbs to lose. I am currently 194lbs - the heaviest I've ever been. (In case you're wondering, I'm only 5' 2"). I'm sick of yo-yo diets and sincerely hope that the lifestyle changes I've chosen to make will lead to my long term success.

Wish me luck! :)

I have 108 pounds to lose.  those 8 pounds, specifically, are killing me.  I've been actively working at losing weight for the past 5 weeks, and I've lost 20.5 pounds, putting my current weight at 268.0.   I'm exercising, eating right, eating vegan, counting calories, and drinking water.  I'm 21 years old (22 next month) and 5' 9.5" (I fight for that half an inch because my mom is 5' 9" and claims to be just as tall/taller than me).

So, Hello!

I am still here as well.  Need some inspiration though..  Todays been kind of a tough day.Cry  It just seem that the bad choices, just snow balled.  I started off ok, but than I really didn't have a meal, but snacked most of the day on junk that I know I don't need and shouldn't have....

Tomorrow will be better..

Indeed tj...tomorrow is a new day! Some days are easier than others aren't they? Undecided Don't worry...just keep tryin. Smile

No worries tj, I had a craptastic day of eating too. (past couple days actually) Dayum old habits are hard to break! ARGH!! But, I am not giving up or giving in. I am gettin back on track & pushin through this minor setback. Crappy mood, crappy weather & crappy eating...a crappy tri-fecta. hmmmph.

Tomorrow will definately be better! ~RM

I am here, too, though I stopped posting on the other thread, I kept reading.  I hought I'd have a better week than I did this week, I gained 2 in spite of doing the 30 day shred.  bummer, and I really mean I'm bummed about it.  I have not cheat veered from my program though--I have kept count of every calorie that goes in.  I don't think I'm going to count activity calories anymore and see what happens.   Hope everyone else has a better WI than I did!

Is this thread still open to newcomers? Please let me know!

I had 131# to lose to get to my goal weight of 170 (i'm 6'0" tall, medium build). I've lost six pounds so far *yay!* but have a long road ahead of me. I'd love to be part of this thread since we're all in approximately the same boat. :)

Is it okay if I poke my head in here every once in a while and be your cheerleader? I love seeing people lose weight like this, because I can get a glimps of the struggles I went through, and are still going through.

173 pounds lost, and maintaining for 6 months. I still have my 'im losing my mind' gotta binge days, and still trying to understand where these emotional eating habits derive from.

{{hugs}} this is a possible journey. the most rewarding hike you'll ever go on.

Hello Embarassed I just started today.. I need to lose 150 pounds in total. >.<; I'm going to be very honest about my eating habits on here as that is the source of my fatty demons! I'm going to slowly remove the unhealthy stuff little by little till there is none left. It's very hard to break a habit and if I break it cold turkey, I will be tempted to cheat and eat something bad. Gotta wean myself off sort to speak. =) I wish I had a pool... I use to swim alot back when I was younger at my parent's house and lost alot of weight then without even trying. But alas... no more pool. =( So hello everyone...you all inspire me...it feels so good to not be alone. Smile

Hi cptbunny! We're pretty close in stats - I have 130 pounds to lose. Let's do it together!

x17star - I saw your before and after pics, OMG. You are totally an inspiration. I don't speak for the thread, since I'm new to it, but I personally sure would love to have your input in this struggle!

Well, I didn't see any "NO WAY, Indi, you are SO not welcome here!" responses ;) so I'm going to assume my being here is ok!

My week 1 total is -6.4 pounds - I KNOW it's mostly water weight and initial body shock, and that those huge numbers won't last forever, but it sure feels good to see!

What I'm doing: I lost 110 pounds when I lived in Japan for a year (see my profile for the full scoop) but gained it all back because the loss was "circumstantial" - it didn't actually reflect a change in my habits or my own willpower. So now I have the "opportunity" to learn the lesson again, and make it stick. Japan did have some good lessons though - while there I had to walk everywhere, which included 2mi to school and back every day, plus another 1.5mi to the train station if I wanted to go anywhere (and I did!).

So, since I live too far away from work to walk to work, I'm walking to "work" and home every day. I've psyched myself into thinking that I HAVE to walk to work and home every day, even though it's just around the neighborhood before and after actually going to the office. This week I walked:

Monday: 1mi in the morning - didn't walk "home" :(

Tues: 1mi in the morning, but then saw the Mars Volta in concert that night and danced, so I'm counting that!

Wed: 1 mi in morning AND 1 mi in evening!! YAY!

Thurs: 1mi in morning, massive thunderstorms that night prevented me from walking and I was seriously pissed!

Fri: 1.5mi in morning AND 1.5mi in evening! 3mi! YAY!!!!

Sat: Didn't walk but went rollerskating for 2 hours at the rink with DH. Weird to be a kidless adult there, but it's just so much fun.

Sun: DH and I walked around the city reservoir - 2.5mi!!!! More leisurely, but still, I was very proud.

So, one week down, infinity left to go - but I'm feeling really good. As far as food, I'm just trying to be more conscious about how I'm eating, and tracking all of my food every day (it's amazing how off you can get when tracking doesn't happen!) to make sure I'm roughly in the right area. I'm trying to maintain a 1000 cal deficit, which is pretty easy right now while I'm so big. I know it will be harder down the road, so I'm not sweating it yet, and focusing mainly on activity. I'm eating what I like (which is mainly healthy and organic stuff), just watching portions.

Good luck everybody! I'd love any feedback or suggestions anyone has.

Hi everyone.  I followed you here too.   It really helps me to read everyone's posts on their ups and downs. This is a long journey and I think it helps us to all stick together.

Jericho - I appreciate you leading this thread and I have been wondering how you were able to keep track of all of us!  Thanks for starting a new one where we all can still track our progress!

I am back too.

I thought I had gained but - well - I was down 0.6 for the week. I still hope there is some water weight in my leg muscles because I had a VERY robust weekend [10 hour driving, 10 hours bushwacking through chest high brambles, trees, and over logs]

Anyway - this week - down 0.6

SW=261.8

CW=255.8

edit: reweighed - changed numbers - need glasses :)

ddparker - hang in there,  I have wondered about that activity meter - does it calibrate calories spent to your actual muscle weight because the fat is not burning calories.   But if you are still below your resting calorie requirements you should not gain.  Is it possible that, for this week, it is water weight?

So you are still counting regular calories, just not adjusting for your burn meter, right?

Hi mommalori!

I know! The weekends are so hard. I'm either not eating enough or I eat too much. *doh*

I like to take the weekends off from exercise too...might have to start doing a little something on Saturdays I guess. I only lost one pound this week too...though it was probably a little more than that. My scale is kinda goofy...hard to get specific numbers.

I'm thinking of getting a new scale. Any suggestions?
