Hiya

I'm new here! at last i can talk to people about managing weight and pick up tips etc...

I'm doing exams at the moment and im constantly hungry and need energy food 24/7 ... i always opt for chocolate. i know its a bad choice but its the only thing that seems to wake me up... for an hour or two anyway...

Does anyone have any suggestions??

How about hot chocolate? Swiss Miss makes a low cal version that's pretty tasty. It's the fat and sugar in the chocolate that makes it "bad." And with hot chocolate, you can sip it and make it last! Sometimes I also put a bag of peppermint herb tea in with the water before the cocoa mix... hot peppermint patty!

welcome! i'm pretty new, too. and i can totally relate to your chocolate addiction. sugar-free fudgsicles, 100 calorie jello chocolate pudding, and 100 calorie slim-a-bears ice cream bars always do the trick for me.

hey thanks!! ill give those a try!

I love chocolate - like you - it's a downfall.  But how about nuts?  Like some almonds or pecans - those are supposed to help I think and some protein.  Those may be some other choices you could look into.

Staying up for exams is intense and I have tried pretty much everything from coffee, chocolate, redbull, vitamin b, caffeine pills none of it worked for me well it kept me awake but not alert my body was a mess and my academic performance reflected how poorly I felt. To me what makes the most sense is eating often and eating healthy snacks carrot sticks and other veggies. You are going to eat something lets face facts, munching is a part of studying so it might as well be nutritious munchies. My secret to success is activity not to the point of exhaustion but just enough to keep me alert. If you are anything like me your body is awake but your mind is falling asleep as you reread chapter 89  of 234 for the fourth time because you didn't retain anything the first three times.  Going for a quick jog hitting the gym for a few minutes just seems to wake my mind up and make me all the more effective when studying.

Goodluck in exams!
