Always wondered something,
Hey Everyone!
I've always wondered something and thought I would post it.
I'm a 6'4 female, my friend is a 5'4 female.
Every second day we go for a run together. I've always wondered do I burn more calories because i'm bigger than her? I do weigh 30lbs more than her, but weight aside, does size burn more calories? Sorry if it sounds like a stupid question, but I've always wondered!
Thanks!

It takes more energy to move a heavier object.
So, leaving weight aside, size only matters to the extent you have higher wind resistance than she does.
But you can't leave weight aside.
Another thought is that your roomie probably takes many more steps than you. This is like your being in 5th gear, while she is in second. So, she might be burning more gas.
Lots of variables here.
woahhh i totally admire you :) i'm 5'9 1/2 but i'd like to be a bit taller.
anyway to answer your question, yes you do burn more, probably a TON more than her.
I just looked at your pics and wow! You have gorgeous long legs! Congrats on your awesome weight loss, by the way! You look stunning!
Thus, tall people will burn more calories than short people while walking and running because of the increased muscle contraction energy required to move the longer limbs.
According to this tall people burn more calories than short people.
