I've been stuck in the 170s for 2 months!!! any suggestions??

Hi: I started CC October 14 at 212.  I'm now down to 170-172 but I've been stuck in the 170s for over two months now.  Any suggestions for getting out of the rut?  I've been trying to do between 1200-1400 calories, depending on what exercise I'm doing.  I recently separated from my husband and had to leave the treadmill and bowflex behind.  Most of my exercise at this point is yard work, cutting lawn with push mower (that will reallly burn some calories), etc.  I know I need to shake up my body but don't know really what to try.  Since I've lost those 40 pounds, I've also noticed a marked decline in my physical strength, but that could also be normal menopausal stuff or just age.  I'm 50, 5'6", medium build, pear shaped, healthy as hell, smoker (yeah, I know that's an oxymoron to be healthy and a smoker), I drink but count that in my calorie totals daily.  Any suggestions would be helpful.  Thanks.

You are probably not getting enough calories and your metabolism has slowed down.  I'm 170 and I'm eating 1500+ (on a good day) and exercising like mad.

With 12 years between us, we're weight loss twins.  I'm 5'5 1/2", recently separated, pear shaped.  Can you get workout dvds?  Try calisthenics (jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, etc) and walking/jogging outsides I hear is more challenging then the tread mill.  I don't know, I only walk/jog outside on a 5k track.

But I would definitely try upping the calories and see what happens.

Thanks. I'll try it.  I've been keeping the calories low because I know I'm not doing much exercise but anything is worth a try at this point.  I know as I get closer to my goal weight, it's going to get harder but jiminy Christmas, give me a break!!  Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been in the 170's for two months as well.  but I believe mine is caused by poor eating habits.  I'm going to get better at it.
