Hey all...
My sister is getting married July 12th and I need some motivation and some challenge from others to shed the last of my baby weight to look hot in the dress! SOOO starting this Saturday I am going to start weighing in every Saturday in hopes of losing 16 lbs in the next 8 weeks! I would hope for more but I know it is only safe to hope for 2 lbs a week!!
So, who is in? Please only reply if you are serious to committing to the whole 8 weeks. The other challenge I joined has fizzled by week 6 and has left me unmotivated!!

Week 1and 2: Water challenge
drink half your body weight in water (e.g. for 180 pounds, you would drink 90 oz)

__According to the Mayo Clinic the recommended water intake for men is 3.0 liters (13 cups) and women is 2.2 liters (9 cups/75 ounces).
Week 3: Fiber Challenge:
*Fiber is the part of plant foods that your body doesn't digest and absorb. There are two basic types: soluble and insoluble. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to your stool and can help prevent constipation. Vegetables, wheat bran and other whole grains are good sources of insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber may help improve your cholesterol and blood sugar levels. According to the Mayo Clinic ,
*Women need 21 to 25 grams of fiber* a day. So that's the goal! Eating fiber helps you feel full too!

I'm currently at 185.2. Apparently the site thinks its safe for me to get to a healthy bmi (168lbs) by July 18th. So, that's my goal... anything I get between now and the 12th is all good to me (as long as it stays on track).
I am in!!!! I am going on a family vacation in july and want to drop some pounds.

Oh yay! i am so glad so many people are excited about this challenge! I agree with mosweet...I need small increments at a time to get me motivated. I am going to see if my husband will watch the baby so I can go to my neighbors apartment 2 blocks away that has a gym! I was running 3 miles a day in march and ever since I went back to work after maternity leave it has been sooo hard to keep up!

ok, yesterday was a great start for me! I ate really well and ran 2 miles! Although it is not pretty having all my flab flopping around as I run around Central Park, I know it will be worth it eventually when I am running with my hot skinny healthy body!! yay! Let's hope the scale reflects my efforts!
Anyone else have any awesome days or struggles we can encourage you through? I am serious about being a support system for each other! It is how I stay motivated so lets do this!!
I have no idea how much I weigh. I've been avoiding that scale for a year! But I will plan on losing 12 pounds - 1.5 a week is a good goal for me. I'll brave the scale on Saturday and let you guys know what I am starting at.
Get ready girls! Get out your "good food" lists or make one up! I'll try to post some of mine soon!
I've been pretty solid about getting my exercise and eating an appropriate amount, but its getting annoying.
What I've learned:
As you lose weight, you're daily burn rate gets smaller and the amount of burn you get from the same amount of exercise gets smaller....
What this means... I'm not allowed to drop my calories anymore and I have to do more exercise just to maintain my same deficit... at least I enjoy the water.
Major success: I was able to pull off enough exercise yesterday to maintain my deficit (1000) and eat at outback with the wife!
