I have struggled with anorexia since age 11 or 12 (now 27). In 2006 I ended up admitting myself to an inpatient treatment center (3 months prior I had a heart attack due to the anorexia). I finally decided it was time to get help. 4 months after being released I went to an outpatient facility for 2 months.

I am finally healthy from one eating disorder (anorexia) however have jumped to another (overeating).

I was wondering if anyone was interested in an on-line OA (Over-eaters Anonymous) group in the Forums. I don't mind leading it. I have found live meetings help, however I am unable to attend most due to physical reasons.

Let me know if your interested and I will start one up. After the 3rd step I would close the group due to confidentiality issues.

Just wondering if there is any interest out there.

OMG! you have touched me in so many ways. I particularly love to read the wisdom you have gained from working a spiritual program. I have been in Al-Anon for years, and yet I have always been drawn to women who suffered childhood abuse. I never knew why, my parents were no help--and unlikely candidates for that kind of abuse. Of course, as we learned in the 60's--most women, most children have been abused in some way.

I tried OA for 30 days some years ago, but the f2f meeting was too far away and I did not have the skills to reach out. I am much more comfortable on these blogs. I am also a member on an online Al-Anon meeting that "meets" once a week.

I'd be happy to join you. Whenever 2 or 3 are gathered...blessing abound.

Are you all willing to work the steps of OA (similar to the steps of AA) however more centered toward eating? (I can give you a website)  I'd be willing to lead a forum for the OA group if I can figure out how to open a new one.

Just follow the same steps you did to open this one.  Click on Forums, click on the forum you wish to have this in (I recommend Weight Loss or Motivation), click on new topic and fire away.  Be sure to name it something that clearly identifies what it is and make sure your initial post is clear on the goals and participation requirements.
