Hey everyone! I decided to make a group for those who need to lose anywhere from 50 to 70 lbs. I think if we do weigh-ins once a week (whatever day works for each person), we can all keep each other motivated. It is possible for most people who join this group to lose mostly all of the extra weight by the end of 2008! We can all use tomorrow as our first weigh-in. Who's with me

thanks for organizing! i'm in another short-term challenge (-15 by Spring)... but it would be amazing if i could lose all the weight by the end of the year... so this is my long-term challenge. (i'll be weighing in on mondays... have to weigh-in at the gym).

So what is everyone doing for exercise? I hit the gym mon and wed for 30 minutes treadmill and 10 minutes stairclimber at lunch. Then tues and Thurs I hit the gym for 25 min treadmill and 15 elliptcal followed by 45 minutes or so of weights. Tuesdays legs and back and Thursdays arms and chest.
I wish I had time to go to the gym, I have to do everything in my own time...so, I try to fit in 2 miles of Leslie Sansone at least 3 times a week, more if it will fit. Then I also am taking care of some cattle for some people and I consider that some of my workout...walking in the mud, carrying bags of feed, throwing hay...etc. Right now, that is all I have time to do.

I know what you mean about having the time. My lifestyle did not allow me to do that until I made it a priority. (the Doctor and wife actually made it a priority) That is why I go during lunch for some cardio and only go two days after work. It can be a scheduling nightmare on the wife as well. But we have it worked out that she goes to the gym early on tuesdays and then pick up kids and I do the same on thursday so we can both go. I does dound like you are gettinga pretty decent work out with your routine though. Good luck.

I know that it is nothing too serious but I have been stuck now for the past 3 1/2 months and it is really starting to drive me crazy. I am doing the same things that I was when I was losing weight. I have changed my work out routine. eaten more calories and less to try and jump start things and it does not seem to work. I know it just takes time but it would be nice to see some results once in a while.

Hey Phinman, don't discount yourself yet brother. If you are hitting the weights hard you will pick up lean mass which will offset your fat loss on the scale. I would suggest taking some simple measurements and logging those as well. When my mom started at the gym she wasn't losing much on the scales, but she was losing inches of fat.
You could also be retaining water. Make sure you are hydrating enough :)

No worries. I know I have come along way already but someitmes it just feels good to vent a little about this slow progress. I do lift weights pretty hard and I know I have gained alot of muscle mass by the way my clothes fit and the amount of weight that I can now lift. I hope I get enough water, I have been drinking at least 3 liters a day. Thanks for the support. Man I love this site.
