16. Anything Else You'd Like To Share? Sure.....I am doing the old Weight Watchers with my 79 year old mother. We did it together about 15 years ago and lost alot of weight. (80 lbs each) Life has changed alot since then, my kids are grown (youngest is currently serving in Iraq) I have 7 sweet grandchildren, and I find myself with too much time and not enough energy. I am really obese, got a stomach roll bigger than 3loaves of bread, YIKES. My back hurts, my knees hurt and my poor feet....I know it is a sign to do something NOW. My sister passed away in April and was bedridden morbidly obese. What a wake up call that was to me. To watch her teen sons mourn was heart wretching. She was such a sweet person, with many talents that were so covered up due to her weight. I feel like I am under cover with this excess weight. My new theme song is "Cool Change". hehehe

Hi - Kimbee1960 here - new member, and am here because I've finally hit my fat ceiling...I went shopping today, put a skirt on, zipped it, the zipper split on me, and I had to struggle to get out of the skirt, I was so mortified, I crawled out of the store and took the first exit I saw out of the mall - I'm tired of being overweight...in 1999, I joined WW, and lost 40 beautiful pounds, I looked amazing but by 2004 I was on my way back to fat land...so here I am and really excited about meeting new folks here, and sharing, and maybe helping folks out while i help me too! BTW - On 12/31/2005 at 11:45PM, I smoked the last cigarette of a 30+ year addiction - did it cold turkey, and just did rather abruptly...I've become a happy non-smoker - so I can contribute in other ways to this community, and will happily {hold} the hand of someone looking to stop smoking....

I went to the meeting moderator for some assistance, showed her my food journal, but I hadn't ticked off the water boxes at the end of the page, so the moderator asked me if I was drinking my water, and I said of course, other than a morning coffee and an afternoon black tea, I only drink water (more than 8 cups a day)...and she looked me straight in the eye, and said that if I spent the time to tick off the boxes of the water I consumed I would lose weight...I never went back to WW...how did you come to calorie count?

I found it by accident though a web search. It certainly is a great site. I had great leaders during Weight Watchers so I didn't have that problem but with WW it seemed like that had to be my main focus every second. Now I just type the food in and this little tool does the work for me. I know WW on line will do the same thing but then you have to pay for that and I love the analysis tool on here also. So far I've had B+ or A- days. If I could kick my little 100 calorie sweets per day I could probably make it an A but you gotta live! LOL and I find if I do without a little something sweet then I'll binge on a huge dessert.

Wow Kim, that sounds really ridiculous, I was always kinda curious about WW, my mom did it back when I was little but gained everything back and more when she had my kid brother and quit WW >.< and I've heard from others too that it seems that you gain it back asap when you quit WW is that true? I think for now I'm going to try the cal counting here and see where that gets me, and hopefully make some friends to help along the way :)
