I have had a few health problems but I am in great shape and healthy now and want to get this weight.
Could use any and all help. Would anyone care to join me in my new adventure?
lab tec? I'll bet that is very interesting. My daughter is a nurse. She started at the age of 15 working in a nursing home-told them she was 16- and loved it-nursing is in her blood now.
Abused your body? Me too. Years of smoking and drinking. Well I quit-- many, many times- but my real stopper was my heart attack- think my body was telling me something? haha
Sure you may use the wolves-and anything else I post here, feel free to use. I have been to 2 movies in the last maybe 30 yrs. The last one I remember I went to was "porky one"then I went to one about 10 yrs ago when we got a new theater. Well now that was a big deal. I live in a town of 6,000 people. Neighbors and strangers know you or anyway your private life. We're all spy on our neighbors. haha
Talk about motivation- did you see the video link I posted 212 - I think on page 1. That's a great one.
Hope to see you around often. I love posting- I guess I'm a gabber.
How many times did I open the fridge? What did I take out? How many bites didI take I forgot to write down? A calorie is a calorie! But 100 calories of one thing can be good while a 100 bad ones is poison to me. Did I eat my good foods? Chicken, fish, turkey,Lean is the key machine, how about fruits, and veggies, did I drink water? No not coffee, pop or protein drinks. I mean good ,cold, poison flushing water. Did I eat poison ? Name your poison- just think "did I" or "didn't I?" The choice is mine. Did I exercise today? DidI set and watch T.V.? What did I do in my spare time? OK that's it for now, just a little "let's think about it" time.
My Mom use to say this and you know I think it's true.
Positive attitude is so important! If I'm concentrating on my food addiction I'm living in the problem; if I'm concentrating on exercise and healthy eating, I'm living in the Solution!
Today I watched the sun paint the morning sky with it's firey light as I walked! This morning I've opened the office windows to let in fresh air, and I can hear cicadas buzzing...another sunny day to enjoy!
When I think of all the mornings I dragged myself out of the bed to get to a job that I disliked...all that Negative energy! What a waste of effort! Today, as I concentrate on all the things I'm grateful for, I feel Alive!!
Gratitude is a positive action word. I must respond with action to show my appreciation for the power of creation!

Got our firt night out in the RV this weekend at a Wellbriety Day of Sharing on the Tuscarora Reservation. We enjoyed it, but found we still have a lot to learn and clean!
The Day was full of speakers, dancing and eating! I tried to stay somewhat near my plan, but so many temptations!
But that was yesterday, and today I'm back on CC+ monitoring my calories and activities.
Hi twin clwhit! Glad you found me. It been slow on this site. Now you know a little about me and I know a little about you. I will tell you on this site Congratulations on your weight loss. I am so far behind on the weight loss buddy site it will take awhile to catch up.
I have been sick, sick, sick. My cold (from DH) turned into ear and sinus infection so haven’t felt like typing or doing anything.
Hi Krismasself Do you travel a lot? Were you gone for just the weekend? I find it is extremely difficult to eat away from home and in public situations. I was very very bad yesterday. I had a birthday party for my sister-in-law to go to and I ate 2 pieces of cake and two scoop of ice cream. Then I had three pieces of pizza!
Where is kansasgal?
Lora
This post is dead I think I will try the senior corner.
Bye
Lora
I'm far from dead, but not feeling too lively today ;( It's a grey, dreary, drizzly AM, and I can't seem to get up enough enthusiasm to do anything except sit here at the computer. Too dark and damp to walk outside before work this AM, thought I'd go to mall on the way in to walk. But couldn't even rev up enough to do that.
This too shall pass, and may be the consequences of overeating on Sunday.
Lora, yes we do travle a lot, and it has been a real problem for me as far as eating well. I'm hoping having the RV, where I can store and prepare my own meals, will make a difference. Restaurant eating is expensive, both in dollars and in calories!!
Family parties are hard too. Seems food is the center of all family traditions! And we both have "well fed" families...lol! It's not easy to say No Thank You, but it can be done.
The weather is the same here. Rain all week as a matter of fact. It looks like just you and me krismasself! We have a fifth wheel and I love to go camping. I only stock healthy food in it when we go anywhere it does help. I have a husband that isn’t a pound over weight. He loves to buy all the goodies and then never eats them.
I got some good news today, I am going to be a grandma again! My Son Cory and his wife are going to have a baby.
I have been good today and watching what I eat. Wonder where everyone else is.
Lora
OK have you found that you have lost this week? I haven't but been out of town, eating out 3 meals a day and no exercise. I didn't get on scales but my clothes say" nope, no loss this week"
I worked at a local college for 5 ys as hostess-so I know the way you feel about getting to know the kids, but that age they can be so sweet one miutes and "OH MY" the next.
My hubby is 6 foot and weighed 145. Muscles all the way. He retired a little over a year ago- now hitting the 200 mark. He told me last week he needed new jeans-AGAIN! I tried to get him to c.c. but don't think that will work. He does his own cooking now. If he going to kill himself with a fork- I'll not load it for him.
OK heading to Wichita- see you tomorrow- anyway hope you haven't given up on me.
"if he's going to kill himself with a fork-I'll not load it for him."
WOW, did that hit a nerve for me. I do my best to provide healthy meals and set the example, but I can't be in control of how he eats, especially when he's into the sweets at an AA meeting or on the road doing "fast food." Bernie had a warning from the MD last visit about diabetes, as he'd gained 16 lbs in 6 months! He's knows a lot about compulsive eating because of my being in OA, but he hasn't accepted yet that he's got a problem with food, and hasn't found the willingness to change his diet.
We bought bicycles early in the summer, and at first he was very enthusiastic about using his, more than I was. His schedule allowed him time to ride while I was at work. But since the hunt for the RV began in earnest last month, the bikes have sat unused. I walk alone, hoping to maybe inspire him, but that's up to him to chose for himself.
It's difficult to watch them put on the pounds, isn't it? We worry so about their health, but didn't we also neglect ours for so long?
I was worried avout you kanassgal. I thought you had abandond us. Seem that there are only the 4 of us on this forum. Wonder what happened to the person that started it. I have had those stress test and they do take awhile don't they. I only have to go 50 miles for mine. I hope every thing turns out OK.
Hi krismaself. How are you doing today?
How do you guys handle the temptation of having "bad" food around the house with your husbands?
Lora
You bet we neglected ours for so long. I wrote a piece about "Hello Body" how I had abused myself so. Want to read it? It's an eye opener for me.
Lora- We just made a day of it today. My grand sons lives in Wichita where I had my stress test.So after we got finished we went to Ryans for luncj- a BIG lunch they have a buffet that should be against the law to have. More food than 2 eating places should have. One buffet nothing but desserts. We I did fair about it-- not good by no means. We have one family resertant here 1 chinese and 2 Mexican places. That's it- so when we get out of town we eat way too much. And I've eaten out everyday for a week. Hate to get on the scales. Beside it's been one week today sense I did any exercise. this is the longest in several yrs without any good sweat breaking exercise.
What is epstein bar syndrom? Never heard of it. sounds like we have about the same problems all three of us..
The 2 heart attacks- how long ago? Mine was in 2001. No probles at all sense. thank God.
Well don't want to talk you ear off- see you later. Night and happy dreams.
Epstein bar syndrome is a non contagious virus that never goes away. It affects the immune system and is like having “ Mono” all the time. It is not treatable and the symptoms come and go. It flares up and goes away and all they can do is treat the symptoms. I have had it for around 20 years. It was caused by an infection that was not treated. This causes your white blood cells to go out of control and so you always have a high white blood count. Symptoms are Sore throat, Enlarged lymph nodes, Chills, Joint aches, Extreme fatigue, Nausea and vomiting, A red rash, Abdominal pain, and Enlarged spleen. It also affect the heart and internal organs. Causing diabetes, heart problems, irritable bowels and a lot of other complications.
I had a heart attack that almost killed me in May of 1993 ( when I was 38) and again in December of 2003.
I try to count my blessing and I am still alive. I see so many other people that are worst than me out there.
Lora
Count my blessings indeed! I thought I was having a heart attack years back (15 maybe) when I had this horrible pain in my jaw. Turned out to be Mitral Valve Prolapse (dad & brother also have heart murmurs) and a hiatal hernia (esophagus pushing back thru the muscle that separates chest cavity from abdominal organs). Over the years, I've been treated for high blood pressure and low-thyroid (which also runs in my family). Each time I take off lbs, health improves; each time I gain, problems reutrn. Wouldn't you think I'd learn that lesson and not repeat the process?? That's what I'm hoping for this time.
I shared with my man at dinner last night the exchange we've had here about hubbies eating disturbing us. He listened politely and didn't comment, probably because I said it kindly and with a note that I know I have no control over his actions. He never complains about the food I cook, often compliments, but occasionally changes the plan if he's not in a mood for fish or chicken. I try to be flexible, as I do enjoy his cooking, as bad as it may be nutrionally! I just take smaller portions, or skip a side dish. He's very good about not bringing binge foods into the house, but he's out so much that I have no idea what he eats, where. I do know he has a wicked sweet tooth, and he has gained steadily over the past 5 years since we first met. But then, so did I ![]()
Lori- Yes when I was 50 pounds less I was off my blood pressure now that I gained they put me back on yesterday. So we really need to get with the program. this morning for breakfast I had grapefrui and 4 oz of chicken breast. I need to cook- that's my problem, eating out and over eating when I do. and we have eaten out so much this last week- and I got on the scales this AM-- not pretty- uo 4 pounds. so back to fish, turkey, chicken and drink bunches of water. Of course all my healthy fruits and veggies.
Well heading to the gym- one week yesterday sense I exercised- and I feel it to.
Won't know about my stress test for a week or so- but sure all is fine.
BBL (be back later)
