If one food could be banished what should it be?

Quote  |  Reply

There is one food that single handedly put many of these pounds on me. If it were banished from the face of the earth loosing those pounds would be soooo much easier!!!

What's yours?

Mine: crackers!

wow, 5 pages and nobody mentioned sodas! it's technically not food, but even more to the point. do you guys know how much sugar is in just one can of soda?! and forget the diet sodas - loaded with nasty chemicals. nutra-sweet is actually considered a bio-hazard once it reaches a certain temp - not sure what it is exactly, but it's below boiling. they are completely devoid of any nutritional value whatsoever, have detrimental effects on digestion (carbonic acid), are the leading dietary cause of diabetes in the US and are mass produced in containers that, despite the popularity of recycling, still sit in landfills. yea, nasty stuff. BE GONE SODAS!

i mentioned soda. pepsi in general,. but still soda!

Banish...FOODS!???

Nevar!

Oh...I see where I have been going wrong...Embarassed

There are several things that should be banned. I'd have to say my top one would be Chinese (because I like all the worse ones for you). It's soooooo full of sodium and they usually have a buffet! ACK! Plus, when I finish, i get kind of ill afterwards...probably because I can't stop and overeat... Cry

However, I can say any form of take out AND soda of any kind would be best banned....can you imagine how quickly the obesity epidemic would come to a screeching halt! Sheesh!

On a side note, pizza and ice cream are two more things that would be better off not existing in my world. However...if someone told me tomorrow there would be no more mass production of ice cream, I may have to set up shop with a secret ice cream making center of my own! *muahahaha* I can never say no to ice cream...truly!

If I were to banish a food that tempts me---I would have to saaay----
good quality cheeses paired with artisan breads and aged  balsamic--
I COULD EAT IT NON-STOP

If I were to banish a food that I absolutely hate----I would then say--OLIVES--eww

i say BANISH ALL PROCESSED and unnatural foods... i think they are what is giving the world obesity and cancer... keep what was put here and work with that... NATURAL FOODS... i say keep the amazing fancy cheeses, eggs, meat milk...etc etc all the fruits/veggies....get rid of all the extra crap!

LORD WE would all be so darned healthy!

Just one Laughing?

I'd have to say anything from iHop! To treat myself, I had breakfast there today and I thought I didn't do TOO bad...but then I came home and googled up some of the nutrition values and, well, let's just say my day was ruined Frown. No wonder they don't post up any of the nutrition info voluntarily!

Carbs, specifically baby potatoes boiled, with melting butter-salt-pepper, rice, any way, any time, chocolate chip cookies (carbs+++!) and anything with melting butter-salt-pepper, doesn't food exist to hold the melting butter-salt-pepper? BUT the reason I'm back here is because I hurt my knee back in January and started buying rip and serve food because I couldn't cook standing for long periods. I always enjoyed Progresso Chickarina soup, but with the injury it was practically the only thing I was eating - sometime 5 cans a day!!! And I wonder how I gained an additional 12 pounds in just a couple of months!

doritos

i cannot buy a bag without it mysteriously dissapearing within hours (and that's the family size bag)...i really think they may be the reason i weigh about 50 lbs more than i would like to...maybe i will try and give them up for a few days and see what happens

ok, i don't know if i can do that! Sealed

ice cream

Ditto!

Well, for me it is only Baskin-Robbins ice cream. I have no interest in any other ice cream on the planet. In fact, a lot of it, like Cold Stone, I can't even stand. But put BR in front of me and I can chow down like there is no tomorrow.

That being said, though, I would never want it banned. I can eat it in moderation: I just wish I didn't have to. Wink

Ah! Same here! BR ice cream and Haagen Daz are the only brands I will eat. But they are heavenly! xD And I can eat in moderation too; 1 scoop of BR is already plenty and pushing it for me =3 So I guess I wouldn't want it banned haha

Actually, now that I think of it, I can eat everything in moderation...it's just that when I drink a lot, I start eating baked goods like there's no tomorrow, even though completely sober, I can eat just one brownie or one chocolate chip cookie xD; So I guess my banned good would be alcohol =[

definately banoffee pie !

Desert and chips.  Cry Ok, I know that is not just one. Probably brownies and cake are the worst.

I love pancakes too and pizza and fries. Stupid good food. Yell

oh so delicious breads... and even peanut butter... It's my biggest nemesis. Anything else I get grossed out on (junk food; haven't eaten fast food or soda in years; sweets... I can totally say no thanks and eww that's fat people food). But bread? PB?? awww, man!!! Yell

Fresh baked brownies and  cinnamon buns.

Woe to the super fudgey, practically molten chocolate laden brownies...pulled straight from the oven. When my grandma used to bake them per request, she would make them REALLY moist and rich.

They would be gone before they got the chance to cool.

bk whoppers! the best

Trail mix & peanut butter!

I can eat tons of both of them & thankfully now purchase Naturally More peanut butter so I can allow it back into my house

=)

Oh man, I'm totally with you on this one! I buy the bigger bag too, and I can seriously eat the whole thing in one day. Do you guys think they put addiction-forming drugs in some of these foods?? J/K but some others that should be banned are: Pizza, ice cream, sodas, ANY kind of chips, puffy cheez doodles, spaghettios!

 Ok, I'm hungry now... LOL

Chips. It doesn't matter what kind of chips they are, I love them and I will eat them by the bag. Though I must say, I've had 6 cans of Pringles sitting on my desk here for a couple weeks and I've only had two servings of one can. WILLPOWER BABY!!!

Real French croissants -- particularly almond or chocolate!  Cry

That  (and ice cream) put 20 pounds back on me after I lost it a few years ago.  Funny, though, after just a few days of saying no to both, I lost the craving for them and have lost 11 pounds by focusing on eating healthy foods and doing sweets and fat in extreme moderation!

nachos. they're just....there. and i don't think they're even that good, but i used to eat them anyway, and they sure as hell aren't healthy.

along with that, cinnamon buns & nutella. those are also 2 things that i usually have control around, but then sometimes i just start picking at it, then can't stop going back for more. well, not really nutella, i don't even buy any or keep it in the house, but it's still not that healthy. oh and Ben & Jerry's ice cream. same as those 2 i just mentioned, i barely ever have it, but when i do, i can't control myself.

but foods that i don't like- raisins, onions, & olives. just go away.

Cheese, chocolate, chips... all evil (and aliterative). If these foods didn't exist, life would be much easier and my waist would be much smaller.

 I agree 100%
