Hi all,im 31 years old, i just need ur advice, i was pregnanct week ago and it was about 9 weeks but when i went to clinic , it was found that there is no heartbeats and the baby didnt gro well so the doctor adviced me to remove the baby, and a week ago i went to removed the baby and at the same day they did a conization to remove the abnormal cell in my cervix. and today i went for a check up to see if the process was done perfectly and the ultrasound showed there is no problem the baby has done well. but bad enough the ultrasound showed that i have a fibroids on the wall of my uterus. So i got confused and losing hope. The doctor told me to wait until 2 months without doing sex, it ok. but my worries is should i have any chances to get pregnancy next time. Because i realy realy want a baby. and i read on the internet that conization can lead to infertility and reduces the chance of getting pregnancy and so many  complications. i need ur advice my dears on when should i wait to get pregnancy after undergone all such troubles and should i have another chance to concieve?considering also my age and all those troubles.  im so much confused and frustrated. Anyone went through such troubles need ur advice and confort. im  so much depressed.

zhunar36:  I have not had to have a D&C or fibroids, but I HAVE had a cone biopsy 7 years ago.  I also turn 36 day after tomorrow.  AND I'm pregnant.  I had all the same concerns you do about what the procedure may or may not have done to my fertility and had the age concerns, but my doctor reassured me that I was healthy starting off, so not too concerned about age and - while the cone biopsy does put me at a slightly higher risk of having an incompetent cervix and creating issues in the pregnancy - having less than 3 cervical procedures is not as high a risk as to make then REALLYworry...  Just makes them cautious.  I would give your body the needed time to heal before trying to get pregnant again, but when the doc said you can I see no reason to no give ti another shot!  I also took evening primrose oil at the beginning of my cycle (until ovulation) and mucinex (guaifanesen) during the time I should have ovulated for about a week or so...  The reason a cone can risk fertility is because it can impact your ability to produce fertile cervical mucus (also known as egg white cervical mucus for it's textures or EWCM) and both of those items are supposed to aid int he body's production of that.  That said, I never really noticed any and still managed to end up pregnant, so even without there is hope!  Let me know if you have any other questions -  I hope this helped!  (I have also known people who have fibroids and have carried a baby just fine.  I believe they keep a closer eye on you and the fibroid during pregnancy, but if your doc doesn't think they are big enough to interfere you are probably okay on that count too!)

Thanx betsyt for ur concerns, you really give me some hope God bless you, can you give me your email so that when i need more advice i can send to you my worries because at least you have experience and you can help me when i want to concieve. sorry what are the uses of guaifanesen aprimrose oil, what do they help? i really want to know! thanx again my dear for responding to my query.

No worries - glad I could be of assistance!

The evening primrose oil is supposed to help your body kick up the creation of cervical mucus, guaifanesen is supposed to help thin it.  The important thing is to stop after ovulation because it can also be a factor in miscarriage or non-implantation if an egg is fertilized...  So use with caution.  Guaifanesen thins mucus everywhere and is usually indicated for things like chest congestion.  Turns out, it does it everywhere!  So, if you are helping your body produce more with the EPO and then thinning it with the guaifanesen, then it theoretically can up your chances!

I have never used the OPKs or kept track of my temp, we just BD'd (baby danced = had sex) every other day as soon as my period was done until I started again...  Until I didn't start again - LOL.  I just figured it gave us as good a chance as any.  We never got and SA (sperm assesment) but if one allots for the possibility that the counts may not be 100%, the suggestion is to go for every other day so there is time in between for build up a decent supply.

An update for me:  I went to the doctor for and ultrasound on the 28th.  The bean is .5 centimeters with a heartrate of 160 beats per minute and is at 6 weeks 4 days gestational age.  The other really great thing was that my cervix was measuring at 3.2 centimeters - which is also excellent!  So don't give up hope!  I'll keep you updated as it gets interesting.  :)

Hi Girls, very happy I found this thread,I'm always looking up blogs & they are from years ago.

I'm 28. I've been married for almost 6 years,& with my husband for 13 years total. Mid-January we decided to start trying for baby so I went off birth control that I had been on for 7 years. No luck yet. I've even been keeping track with some charts online, not taking my temp & all that. People tell me to not stress about it,& it'll just happen. Which is hard to do. Like right now my boobs have gotten bigger, they were tender for awhile,I keep getting headaches & feeling nauseous. Took a preg test this morning which said NEG. could still be too early,or it could just be stress, yet I don't know how that makes me boobs bigger. lol

*Update* Ended up getting my period.

In my first waiting period....we just tried this month. How do you stay positive but not get your hopes up too much? It seems as if all around me all I hear is how long it took this one or how this one can't get preg. Very unnerving. We haven't tried in the past so nothing to compare to. I dont have any major health issues but who knows.

marisa - that is EXACTLY how I felt during the 2WW! I had no real reason to think I would have a hard time getting pregnant but I had heard so much about infertility being so common these days and I was just like, how do I know if that's going to be me or not?!

My best advice (and its advice I was incapable of following) is to try to distract yourself with other things. I had myself so keyed up my period was 3 weeks late that first month I tried (I went through a LOT of negative pregnancy tests in that time frame). The second month, we used an ovulation kit because we realized we wanted more control, and got pregnant. So...that would be my second recommendation if you hate the wait and see approach. I know I did!  Best of luck to you and everyone else trying!!!!

Hi all, I'm 29 and have been married for 5 years. My husband and I have been talking about babies for a long time but we are only now getting in to actively trying.

I have PCOS, I was diagnosed when I was 17 and was told it would be unlikely that I could have kids.

I recently visited my OBGYN and she did blood tests and an ultrasound and told me everything looks good.

I am now using the clear blue fertility monitor to see if I'm ovulating. Today; day 22 of my cycle I got the ovulation sign on the monitor!! You would not believe how happy I am to know that I'm ovulating!!

I am also currently on a mission to lose weight. I currently weigh 296 lbs so I need to lose A LOT! I have already lost 38 lbs, yay me! :-)

I'm keeping everything crossed that I'll be pregnant soon and also that I'll be able to continue with my weight loss to have a healthy baby.

Hi all! I am 30, DH is 39, and we are TTC our third child. Baby #1 was stillborn on August 7 (birthday coming up) 2003. Pregnancy was textbook and no known defects with the baby--doctor guessed that the cord got compressed somewhere between me and baby during labor for an extended period of time and cut off her oxygen. By the time they got in for the emergency c-section it was too late.

Jen, your story naturally jumped out at me right away. Please know that time does help this, it just takes a lot of time. Also, I was a paranoid BASKETCASE when we fell pregnant after TTC daughter #2, so I can relate to that too! Unfortunately in my case, that paranoia gets worse the further along you get--I think I had a panic attack on the operating table the day she was born. ;) She's fine though. Baby #2 born healthy Feb 9, 2005.

I got pregnant on my first cycle going off of BCP to conceive #2. We haven't been so lucky this time around.

I haven't been on BCP in at least 3 years. I'm still not pregnant. We were never good about timing or temps or OPKs or anything like that, though. Just kind of went at it with the mindset of "when it happens, it happens". Well, it's not happening and we want it to happen now!

My cycles unexplainably started getting really irregular a couple years ago. I have gained some weight. I've always been overweight, maybe around 180 when conceiving first 2 babies, but now I am about 215. This is a drop from 235 since I started CC. Still going down--I'm working on it! My OBGYN says the reason for my irregular cycles is most likely just an issue with not ovulating, or not ovulating "correctly" anymore. We are in the process of trying Clomid to see if this will help. I did not ovulate on the lowest dose of Clomid on my last cycle. We're trying a higher dose--I start taking them tomorrow.

Has anyone else tried this medication or know someone who has? It's hard to stay away from all of the forums you find on the internet, but I personally do not know anyone who has used it. Good luck to everyone and congrats to everyone who gets that seemingly ever-elusive BFP! HOPING for mine SOON!!

Hi girls! Last time I wrote was in July when I thought I was pregnant. It's Sept. & I don't know what's going on,my period is late,I had bad cramps for a few days off & on,headache, body ache...mostly everything but tender breasts. I've taken 3 pregnancy test & all came back negative(dollar tree tests) Yes I know I should try a different test, just don't want to spend the money if I'm going to see negative. Last night I had a light brown discharge, which I heard is normal when pregnant, just don't know if I am or not. I'll test again in a couple days. Crossed fingers & baby dust!

After posting I realized today is the 10th,last time I posted it was July 10th. hmm

Hi all,

wish1upon1a1star - sounds like another test is in order! Crossing my fingers for you. Let us know!

amblyga - how are things going with you? I don't have any advice for your medication question but I am hoping things go smoothly for you!

fipotts - how is the weight loss coming along? Any BFP's over there?

To all the PG ladies: how are you feeling? Hopefully you're all doing well. Check in with us!

I thought for sure I was. Not this month Cry baby dust is needed

hmbghettopic - I saw your post and took a peek at your profile, and I think we're due around the same time! I'm due sometime between 12/17-12/25 (docs are being annoying about the due date).

Best of luck to all the ladies on this thread!! It was great support for me earlier this year. Sticky baby dust to all!!

Hey All

My hubby & I have a 3, almost 4 year old daughter. We got pregnant after one try after about 5 years of marriage. I was obese & pregnant, but had zero complications. I've been trying to a lose chunk of the many pounds that I need to lose before I try for baby #2, but it's been a struggle. I have lost very little, but have made huge improvements in what I eat, and I now regularly go to the gym. I am more fit & stronger than I was my last pregnancy, so I guess that is a bonus.

I'm 36 and the ticking of my "biological clock" has been getting loud lately, so we decided to start trying now. I really hope I get pregnant after the first try again. **grabbing some of that baby dust!** Either way, I am glad I found this thread.

Well, obviously this is an dead-ish tread :) BUT, I just had to tell someone! I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant! Took an Clear Blue Easy early test, and although the line was really faint, it was a plus sign.

Online searches also lead me to believe that this is common with the early tests, plus, having been pregnant before I have been suspecting that I am all week from the feelings I've been having.

It's crazy, too. We only tried one time unprotected the day after ovulation. Holy Cow!

I'm gonna take another test on Saturday (the day I would've gotten my period) then make an appt with my doc.

:D

Sarah - that's fantastic! CONGRATULATIONS!!! All it takes is one time.  Surprised I'll be hoping those tests get darker for you.

5togo - yes, I'm due Christmas day. Technically, according to my LMP, I was supposed to be due on 12.19.12. Well, at my first u/s, they clocked me 6 days behind that which put me on the 25th instead. At my 20 week u/s, they said I was already measuring 2 days ahead, so the 23rd instead but they didn't change my due date that time. I make big babies, so we'll see. How are you doing with everything?

Congrats to you, too, Jen! Wow, a Christmas baby. My brother had one on Thanksgiving :) I was due with my first on Halloween, but had my daughter the 4th of November.

I hope for a darker test, too, but I'm convinced it's right. It is a plus sign after all :)

Thank you. I doubt she'll come on or even after Christmas but what do I know? My son was due on Thanksgiving last year (and I found out I was PG on St. Patrick's day) so we went from one holiday to the next. I'm not too worried about the holiday aspect. I've already decided that we'll celebrate her half birthday during the summer anyway that way she gets presents throughout the year instead. Or that's the plan at least.  :-)

I was so nervous that this one wouldn't stick, I went and bought more tests during work one day, even after going through several positives. I literally went into the bathroom and peed on the stick and it instantly turned. I was convinced then. Ha!!

Ha, ha! Half Birthday. That's a good idea.

With my first pregnancy that happened. Hubby & I were not "trying-trying" but not preventing it either.  I was late (super regular periods), and I got a test on Easter Sunday - ha ha, another Holiday - I peed on it, and I thought, ok, I can just sit here for three minutes, and get ready for a possible positive, but right when I looked at it there was a big, solid plus sign. I was like holy cow!

Anyway, I am pretty excited. I have three more test, two are early tests, and I'm sure I'll cave in and take some before Saturday. I initially was going to wait to take any until Saturday, but I just could not contain myself, and ran down to Walgreens today!

It didn't help that I could feel my uterus doing things today. Similar to PMS cramps, but different, like last time.
