Welcome wkndhick, I've added you to our list. Do you know what gender you're having?

Wow- TB, can't believe you're 19 weeks already! Time is flying! Sorry to hear about your appointment getting postponed- but it will be neat to see the baby at 22 weeks. My doc wouldn't even consider doing the scan before 20 weeks, seemed like forever to wait.

I'm doing OK, starting to have low back pain too and as I am entering the 3rd trimester, things are just generally starting to feel a bit less comfortable. Sometimes the low back pain just kicks in, usually after I've been walking for a while or something. Sitting down and stretching seems to help me.

I haven't really felt like nesting too much yet, at least in the traditional sense, don't know why. Instead my version of "nesting" has been an overwhelming desire to move out of our current house and purchase a small horse property. I can barely fight this off! We are getting our paperwork ready so at least we are positioned if the right place comes along. Wish I was richer.

I guess I also bought a ridiculously fancy and expensive vacuum. That counts as nesting, right?

How's everyone else doing?

I always lose track for some reason when i post here, I was 18 weeks last Thurs and it'll be 19 tomorrow. jeez. Pregnancy brain again.

I have been having back pain for a few weeks now too. I think wearing flip flops all the time probably has something to do with it. Stretching and massaging pressure points is helping.

It wasn't even noon yet and I had already completely re organized my mom's home office, and cataloged all of the things I plan to donate (for taxes). Nesting was in full swing! I had to sit down after all that.

We're supposed to be getting the crib this week, I am hoping between his weekend and next R will get the office cleaned out so we can set it up and then bring over the glider and dresser from my parents house. I feel like I should have so much more done by now.

Over the weekend I had a dream that we had a girl. holy crap. Now I am just confused and really want to get that U/S done so we know for sure!!!!

hey ladies, how are you guys doing?? Any gender updates?

Tb I had dreams that went either way on gender, one dream would be a boy, and the next dream it would be a girl. So you never know! I'm dying to find out if you're actually having a boy, or if we'll all be surprised with a girl.

Where is everyone else and how are you guys doing? I want some gender updates, too!

Things are going well for me, I'm 29 weeks this week (I can't believe it!!!!) and starting to definitely feel like I am in the 3rd trimester. Hooo boy. I've still been staying active, although it's mostly just walking and yoga. I got to have my yoga! It seems to be an important thing that is keeping me sane and not to mention, fairly flexible.

I hope you guys are doing well. Stop by and update us when you get a chance!

Hi! I'm 34 and due November 14 with out first! I am super excited!!

Pregnancy has been pretty smooth besides some issues with some pre-existing conditions (fibromyalgia and spinal stenosis). I've gained 10 lbs so far. I'm actually not much of an eater (which you would never guess by my size) so I am going to try to start tracking my calories.

Good luck to all!

Well I am rapidly approaching week 23 (on Thursday) and for awhile my appetite stayed relatively the same, I ate decent sized meals and snacked on fresh fruits and veggies or dairy products to up my calcium. But in the last week I have been so incredibly hungry, for things I don't even eat that often! This morning I wanted doughnuts so badly!!! I never have doughnuts, not even when I used to eat really badly did I consume doughnuts on a regular basis. *sigh* I guess it was a legit craving. I HAD to have them fresh from the bakery down the block.

Everyone's been so quiet here lately, hope you're all doing well with your pregnancies!

Good morning! And welcome angie100403, I'll add you to our list. I'm 34, too, and this is my first as well! Do you know what the gender is? 10 pounds is a great gain, good for you.

Tb I know what you mean about the doughnuts. I am eating things I NEVER would eat normally. I don't know what the deal is. I too have been craving sugary things like crazy and baked goods are like heaven. I have even gone so far as to allow myself one treat a day, which is kind of a lot of sugar for me. I've had moments of extreme hunger too, right around when I was 20 weeks or so, too. One night I woke up at 2 am because I was starving! I ate a peanut butter sandwich and went back to sleep.

Everyone has been quiet lately, I hope things are going well for you all. Update us when you get a chance. As for me I'm going to be 31 weeks this week (on Thursday, too, TB- I really am exactly 8 weeks ahead of you!). I feel really lucky because things have been easy for me so far, relatively speaking. I have gained a lot of weight (over 30 pounds, UGH) but I have stayed really active. I haven't gotten any heartburn or back pain, yet. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself.

im due october 15 is gonna be a girl

I haven't posted in a while, I went through a rough couple weeks where I was breaking down/crying every day, just a complete mess. I hadn't gained any weight for weeks, then around week 31-32 I shot up like 6 pounds! Currently at 32.5 weeks and I'm daydreaming for the day when baby girl arrives.

Anyone else starting to get super antsy to have their body back? Part of me loves feeling her move and squirm inside, she's getting so strong! But the other part of me wants to count my calories, go for a run and get back into my old jeans!

Things started to turn around earlier this week...hubby and I comitted to walking the dogs longer at nigh and yesterday I hiked almost 5 miles with a friend (i thought my hip flexors were going to fall off by the time we finished and i had to nap afterwards) and it totally invigorated me.

Our birthing class starts in two weeks, it's getting real...she'll be here in no time!

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Hey Fall ladies,

I know I don't qualify for your group because I'm due on Christmas but I just wanted to pop in and say hi!

joriel - I saw your post about wanting your body back, and I'm only 18 weeks but I already feel that way!! I am gaining weight a little quickly and just miss being able to pick out clothes that make me feel good about myself and my body. Le sigh.

Best of luck to all of you an the rest of your pregnancies! Some of you are getting close!! :)

Jordielg, good to hear from you and have you check in. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a rough couple weeks. I'm really struggling with the weight issues too. It is so hard to gain weight, especially if you're like me and have been struggling with body image issues for a long time. I'm ashamed to admit that I'm 32 weeks and have gained 35 pounds. I'm still exercising as much as I can, but that's tapered off a bit lately. I hear you on being antsy to have my body back!!!! I would LOVE to go for a run. I see people running by my office window and I feel so jealous.

After we have our babies we can all work together at getting back in shape!

My birthing class starts in 2 weeks too- exciting!

5togo, you are welcome to join our group if you like! I don't think there are any rules and after all, winter doesn't "officially" start until the 3rd week of December anyway, so you're close. :) Due on Christmas, how exciting!!!! Are you going to find out if you're having a boy or a girl? That opportunity should be coming up pretty soon, right?

Hey I'd love to join your little group here.  I'm 32 weeks right now too!  :-)  Due on Sept 22 with a little girl.  So happy to have found this...

Katyayer, that's awesome that you've been able to exercise throughout pregnancy.  I'm jealous:-)  Doc has told me no more exercise so I am feeling rather lazy lately.  I'll just have that much more work to do to get back in shape after baby comes, but it's for the best!  (baby is a little behind in growth)...

Does anybody have any tips to spur on a baby growth spurt?  Particular foods, how much protein, etc??  I'd love to be able to use nutrition, rather than "lack of exercise" as a way to get baby to grow!

Hi annerodriguez8 and welcome! Our due dates are so close!

I don't know if what I've been doing is really "exercise" but I've definitely tried to stay active. Mostly lots of walking and hiking, and yoga. It's a long way from my previous workouts before I got pregnant. Some days just walking around the block a few times during my work breaks feels like a challenge.

I'm a first time mom so I don't know much about spurring on a baby growth spurt. How do they know your little girl is behind in growth? From the belly measurements they do or an ultrasound? No one has said anything to me at any of my appointments about how my baby is growing. Maybe a more experienced mom has some ideas for you. I'd guess that eating whole nutritious foods is probably one good bet.

So what counts as "Fall"? The first day of Winter isn't til Dec 21, so I'm going to assume you wouldn't mind me joining, even though I seem to be a little behind the rest of you.

Due: December 11, Team Green!

No of course not... come join us! "Fall" is just a loose way of assembling us pregnant ladies who are expecting babies around the same time. Besides you absolutely qualify as fall, "officially" speaking. I hereby make a motion to include December babies as well in our group. :)

Congrats on your baby!

Glad you joined us AG! :)

I feel like my skin cannot stretch any farther! Jeez. The stretch marks are going crazy below my belly button. And Katy I am exactly like you, only feeling movement below my belly button too. And my belly button is becoming more and more shallow as the weeks pass. I found a piece of fossilized dust in there the other day haha.

I wish the temps would go down so I could do more walking, its been in the 90s/100s for weeks now and the humidity is so oppressive, I might need a PNW getaway.

YAY for all the new members!

Katyayer -- thanks! I don't know what happened to me a few weeks ago! But right after that I got the worst head cold I think I've ever had (darn pregnancy immune system) and I finally just got over the last dregs of it this week. Don't feel ashamed! I would love to still be at a 35 lb gain! Over the last month I totally shot up, 33 weeks now and I somehow got to 50 lbs already! So, I've really been feeling icky about that! yikes! Thankfully, my doctors haven't tried to guilt trip me at all...they barely even mention it! Just say everything looks great and on track. I keep waiting for them to be like, "oh, by the way...stop eating so much" lol...

I decided my first post-partum goal was to get back to running! Obviously, It will take my body some time to heal before I can start making progress towards that goal...Hubby and I ran a marathon in 2010 and after that we took a break from running (don't plan on doing that again!) haha. But I'm anxious to start again...want to try for a sub 2 hour half marathon, that will give me something to work for! For now, I'm going to stick with swimming until baby comes out and my body is healed lol. Hopefully, now that I'm feeling better i can get back in the water/gym and redistribute some of this extra weight to the baby ;)

TBlover -- I feel you with the stretch marks! They bothered me so much at first, but I've finally just accepted them and I'm feeling much better about it! They're already there, and probably more to come...may as well learn to love 'em right?

Is anyone thinking of trying a natural birth? I didn't think I was (at all), but the more I look into it and the more research I do I think I really want to try...I'm at least going to try and go in with an open mind and a birth plan. Started looking into doulas and labor coaches in the area, and looking forward to the birth class to get more info. Obviously, still scared **** though haha.

In theory, I'd like to do a natural birth. I don't know how realistic it is (except that others have done it, so obviously it can be done). I know I'd really like to have a doula -- at least one friend has told me it was the best money she spent on her pregnancy.

Jordielg I hear you on the doctor/weight thing. Mine hasn't said anything either but like you I keep waiting for it to get brought up. I really appreciate the fact that nothing has been mentioned though! I struggle a lot with the weight aspect of this whole journey. Yesterday afternoon I stopped in at Target and decided to get a couple new maternity T shirts, I feel like the selection has been getting pretty slim. Let's just say that the dressing room was a horrible idea. When I left, my self esteem was pretty low. It didn't help that there were two friends trying on clothes in there, and one of them kept saying loudly everytime to her friend in another dressing room "Oh no! I look PREGNANT in this! It's terrible! I don't want to look pregnant!" They couldn't see me or anything but it just kept reiterating the fact that yeah, looking pregnant is not actually a desirable thing.

I'd like to do a natural birth, too. I recently switched from an ob/gyn to a midwifery practice for this reason. I'm the same, the more I read the more I want to give it a go. The hospital I am giving birth at just started offering waterbirths and that idea sounds really nice to me. I love water and it makes you weightless, meaning you don't need help to get into different birthing positions. I strongly dislike the idea of being hooked up to a lot of machines, flat on my back, without being able to feel my legs. I agree though- the whole thing is pretty scary! I can't believe it's only 8 weeks away for me now!!!
