I'm super! I feel so great that I dont feel pregnant except that now, my shorts are all getting to tight. I think I will have to switch to maternity clothing soon...
I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow!
I'm starting to feel the baby move! Not a lot and I have to be perfectly still but it's so exciting! My next appointment is next week with my doctor and my next ultrasoud at 20 weeks is on July 19. I hope we will get to see if it's a boy or girl!
Good day to everyone!
Hey everyone! Hubby and I are expecting our first 2/24/12, so I'm about 7 weeks along. This little booger was unplanned, but we increasingly becoming more excited.
I feel sick pretty much every day around 2, and I also get really tired around that time. I've started coming in to work early so I can sneak out and nap in the afternoons...I'm ready to be done with the 1st trimester already!
We had our 1st ultra sound last week, where we saw a heartbeat on the little gummy bear. Dr said everything is looking good so far.
Kellywood, so sorry to hear of your loss. -massive hugs- xoxox
Welcome new members, I've been a bit AWOL! Busy week.
It's outlined in my journal - longest entry ever? - but needless to say, I'll cut it short here to say we had an ER room run last night and thankfully, everything is fine with the baby. PHEW. Major cramping is scary as all get-out for anyone, especially a first-timer. They treated me like gold, though, and reassured me that I was fine in coming in fearfully over such immense pain like that which I had yesterday.
Baby is 2.35 cm, heart rate of 171. All looks good! So breathing sighs of relief here. I can handle the pain, just as long as it's not hurting the baby!
Hope all is well with everyone else! claudiek - can't wait to hear your gender news!!!! :D that's so exciting! I just met someone on BNB whose gender scan is at... 16 weeks? Um, talk about jealous, she's due after me and will find out a whole month before me! lmao. Patience, clearly not my forte.
>.<
hi, ladies!! and welcome newcomers!! so excited to have you on board with us!
first appointment was just fine and dandy! i peed in a cup, got a pap, and my doctor poked around looking for signs of a baby, which she found! so, hooray!! still not the verification i would have liked, lol! but i'm sure i'll feel more satisfied when my bloodwork comes back.
if i can get more than one ultrasound with my insurance, i will schedule one for august/september so DH can have a peek at what's going on in there :) right now he's only seeing the sick/hormonal side of pregnancy... and so far, he isn't a huge fan, lmao!!
claudiek! yay for possible gender scan in a few weeks!! and how exciting that you are feeling the baby bouncing around!! :D
me234 - welcome!! glad everything is looking good for you so far!! i think the nausea and exhaustion is pretty crappy, lol!!
I just had my first ultrasound. They moved my due date to Mar 3. Heartbeat was strong. I'm a lil disappointed to have to wait longer...but it does mean my lil alcoholic indiscretion...that happened before I knew about the baby...possibly didn't even get to the baby at all because it happened right around the time of probable implantation. So that's good news anyway. The doctor said it was often hard to detect a heartbeat this early (was 5wks 6days at sonogram) so the fact that it was easy to find and beating strongly at 109 was certainly encouraging. Have a good one ladies
Hi everyone, I'm Evonne and just found out I am expecting - Due Mar. 8, 2012 based on my calculations. Have my first Dr. visit next week to confirm. This is my first and my husband and I are excited and anxious about everything that is going to come. At 5'2" and 157 before pregnancy, my biggest concern is not gaining too much and accepting my starting weight. Overall, I'm feeling pretty good, no nausea as of yet, minimal cramping and just ravishingly hungry at meal time. My goal is to for the first trimester keep the hunger in check, eat balanced, healthy, reasonably portioned food and stay within my calorie allotment. Overeatting is my biggest worry.
Swanx- The ER trip sounds terrifying! I've gotten some cramping, but never anything that bad. I'd most likely have done the same thing.
Krrpt- What kind of signs did they look for? At my appt, they gave me a vaginal ultrasound, which showed the gummy bear (the pic is on our fridge). That made both of us feel better than any of the blood work did! Hubby also is not a fan of the sick/hormonal side. He's trying to be good about it, but I think before the pregnancy is over, he may sleep on the couch more than once just for his own safety :)
Schitester- I wouldn't worry too much about the alcoholic indiscretion. I had drinks the night before I did my tests (I didn't think I was pregnant, I was just a few days late) and the dr. assured me it was ok, as long as I didn't continue.
marie- I am nervous about weight gain as well, especially since I've gained 6 pounds in 4 weeks (eek!) but I'm not going to make it a central point of my life. Health is far more important...
Other than that...how long did/is everyone waiting to share news? We were trying to wait until the end of the first trimester to tell (besides close friends and family) but the rumor mill around town is going nuts, SO I told my boss who was excited and told me to take time as needed, make it up, and to take care of myself. Yay for amazing bosses! I don't think I'll ever announce it on Facebook, but will be okay telling others (co-workers, aquaintences, etc) after 12 weeks.
schitester - glad the ultrasound went so well!! i did the same thing with booze... i ovulated 5/21 and got my BFP 6/2... uh, weekend before the BFP was Memorial Day weekend and DH's birthday... so i drank way too much.... but so far i'm okay, too :)
hi, Evonne! it sounds like you have some good goals!! i'm trying to go on more walks so i can keep the weight gain to the necessary minimum :)
me234 - none, really! she checked how big my uterus was, i guess. i'm hoping to find out more info about what my insurance covers soon. i refuse to talk to the HR woman at work because i hate her and she's a gossip. so i emailed my insurance company to try and get some info so hopefully i hear back from them soon. lol! i almost sent DH to the couch on Friday ;)
pretty much everyone knows now, lol! but we have a pretty close-knit group of friends and are really close with our family. so hopefully everything goes well :) i'll tell my boss when i need to. i think i'll tell him after 12 weeks. i know he won't really mind either way, but i swear i work at a high school and news travels pretty quickly. so i'd like to keep it on the DL. i'm thinking about putting it on facebook when we find out the sex of the bebbeh. i've got some friends and family that i don't see often. i have a pretty limited amount of friends and will be cutting a lot before i put that info up. i think i have 90 friends... lol
hi ladies! you'll have to remove me from the list. i had a miscarriage this morning.
happy and healthy 9 months to all of you!! i will still be stalking your journeys ;)
krrpt08 - I'm sorry to hear your news. My thoughts are with you.
I hope everyone one else is doing relatively well. Munchkin, my nickname for the little one inside, has been doing a good job of reminding me when meal time is approaching and when I have to go in the middle of the night. Not so happy with the second set of reminders, but such is the sacrifice for carrying and growing the little munchkin. I'm getting a little anxious about my doctor visit this week. As a result of my religious background, I have never seen a medical doctor for health care before. However, out of respect for my husband's concern about staying healthy during this journey and some of the legal requirements relating to giving birth and pre-natal/post-natal care expectations, I have to work with a doctor or certified midwife. Gratefully, I am covered under DH insurance, so cost is less of a concern. My anxiousness relates to the poking, proding and other unfamiliar invasion of my personal space. other than weight, I consider myself relatively healthy and my family health history is strong and healthy. This is just a whole realm I have never entered before. As a result, I actually have 2 different initial consults scheduled with different doctors recommended to me by girlfriends. I figured it is worth my discomfort to find someone who will work with my religious beliefs and provide the assurance of care my DH wishes to have.
Thanks for the reassurance....I certainly did stop the drinking once I got the BFP. Not that I was a profuse drinker anyway...but I was having a very bad, stressfull weekend at the time....it was the following Tuesday that I tested again and got a positive. I had tested a week earlier and got a negative...so I had thought I was not pregnant at the time. Oh well. Nothing to be done now but hope for the best.
I am very disappointed to announce my no puking streak is officially over. I am quite miserable and had a horrible attack of allergies yesterday that left me with a very sore nose and achy sinuses today. That led to coughing which contributed to the upchucking this morning. And now some dolt is spraying something at work...I can hear it...i swear if I smell any air freshener I am going to go puke on their desk. I can't stand the smell normally and today my tummy is just not in the mood.
krrpt: I hate hearing about this, my thoughts are with you and your husband.
Evonne: I don't think anybody is a big fan of the poking and prodding, but I'm ok with it since they are looking out for the health of both me and the baby!
Schitester: That sounds miserable! I'm glad my pukey feeling only happens every so often! It usually is at the most inconvenient times, but nothing like what you are describing.
I bought my first maternity clothes yesterday--I spent about $70 on 5 pairs of pants and 8 shirts. Best find was a pair of dress pants (with tags still on them) that were $.26! I'm not wearing any of them yet, but don't think it will be too long. My pants are all getting tight, and I'm only 8 weeks along!
Hope mamas and babies are all doing well!
It's a boy! I had a gut feeling, I don't know why, that it would by a boy. We'll start thinking of names now :) We have Lucas in mind but we may think of something else on the way to december...
So how is everyone doing? I also bought my first maternity pants this week..
Only one week left and I'm starting month 6! Time flyes by... even more in the summer!
Good week to everyone!
Congrats claudiek on the boy!
Hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated in this horrible heat that we've been having.
Hey everyone, so had my first appt this morning. Its confirmed that my is 3/8. It was a pretty good appt and the doctor respected that I was interviewing her as much as she was examining me, which ended up meaning very few lab tests since it would be a waste of time if i end up going elsewhere for my exam. I have another exam/interview Tuesday with a different doctor to see how that feels/goes. Gratefully, my DH is right by my side supportive, though anxious that I find someone who will work with my religious beliefs of relaying on pray-based care first, and medical assistance second. This first doctor was totally cool with our wishes and really supportive and understanding of what we want for our care. I am grateful this first visit went so well, makes me feel optimistic that we'll get a good fit.
Well, this thread isn't too happening...is everyone doing ok!?
DH and I had our 10 week check up last Friday. The doctor checked for a heartbeat--he let us know beforehand that it might not be easy to find and he may have to do an ultra sound to be sure everything is going ok. He put the little microphone up to my belly and immediately found the heartbeat. He even commented that the baby was being extremely cooperative (for now). :)
I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but hearing the heartbeat wasn't a drop in my tracks, crying, and never going to come down from the high kind of feeling. We are both excited, but seeing the plus sign on the stick(s) felt a little bit more exciting/shocking/real than this was to me (and him, I asked). I also felt the same way about seeing the first US where it looks like a whole lot of nothing...Am I alone in this?
Only 9 more weeks until we find out if we will be painting pink or blue!
rebepi- Thanks for the reassurance...
Hubby and I want to find out the sex, which we will find out at 20 weeks. We talked about it, and decided that since it is our first, we would like to get as much stuff as possible beforehand and there are only so much gender neutral things.
Also, yes because we will have a heck of a time agreeing on a name...
I've been pretty awol from CC in general, but things here are good. due 2/7/11 now - got moved a bit haha - and will find out the sex of the baby at the anatomy scan on 9/19. looking forward to that! :)
hope everyone else is doing well! xoxo
Swanxsong - glad to hear things are going well. I just had my second appt. this afternoon. I got a surprise peek at the munchkin since the doppler didn't pick up the heartbeat yet. The little one was facing straightforward and almost looked like there was a grin. Due date is still set at 3/8/11 - just getting to the 12wk point and nearly ready to announce it to the great wide FB world.
