So I had my baby on oct 20th and I had my 6 week check yesterday and now it's time to shift this baby weight and then some! I'm hoping my running round all day will help me shift some lbs, as I can't go into the full blown gym routine just yet! (c-section birth!)

So ladies, I ask you, how did you find loosing weight after you gave birth!? Xxxxx

Hey there I had my son via c section on sept 22 . You need to wait for your dr to give you the go ahead before you exercise but I would recommend getting a post partum belt to pull your tummy in and start jogging or doing aerobics. Once you feel you can handle it start doing exercises for your belly. Muscles are weak after pregnancy and c sections make it harder to get the muscles to go back as fast as a regular pregnancy so you will need to work a bit harder on your belly! I just started my hard workout 4 weeks after working out lightly. I can't do a lot of the tummy exercises at my aerobics class but I do what I can and I have felt a difference just after a week!!! Good luck!!

Losing weight while breastfeeding has been tricky for me each time.  I am currently 8 weeks post-delivery with my 3rd baby.  I still have about 10-15 lbs to get to my goal weight, but 20 to get to my pre-preg weight.

I have been running/walking my way through a couch to 5K program to get back into my running shape.  I hope to run a half-marathon in May.  I run 3 days a week.  Then 2 days I week I've been doing strength training with kettlebells.

With my last baby I gained weight while breastfeeding.  This time I'm trying to accept my body for what it is now so I don't get frustrated wanting it to be where it was right now.  Some days that works.

I found this website that helps figure out calorie intakes for breastfeeding.  I don't know if it really works or not, but I'm trying to go by their calculations.  We will see what happens!

Good luck to you!

Breast-feeding seemed to help me a lot. I always felt hungry but I forced myself to drink some water first and usually found that it killed my hunger pains. Not too much physical activity til about 6 months postpartum and I'd already lost about half the weight is gained (25lb).
After breastfeeding, if you felt hunger, that was your body telling you that it needed nourishment, not hydration.

Breastfeeding for 13 months now, made me lose 20lb within all that time. I do yoga too, and I eat very good but breastfeeding is taking away more calories than I put back in on top of the other stuff I do on a daily basis to burn calories. I have to add more to my meals, so I have the opposite problem now. I'm trying to get some of that weight back, without having to stop breastfeeding because it's healthy for the baby.
