Barbecue Recipes!
i'm gonna barbecue tonight!!!! this is a huge deal because this is the
first day warm enough to do it!!! i have a charcoal grill (i hate the
gas kinds) and they don't get hot enough in the winter to cook
anything.. I'm making:
turkey filets in an oriental marinade: 2 T. soy sauce, 1T. lemon juice, 2 T. sherry, 1 T. olive oil, 1 T. crushed onion, 1/8 t. ground ginger, Fresh ground black pepper to taste and garlic powder or salt to taste marinade the turkey in a shallow dish for several hours turning about every 1/2 hour
veggie skewers: 2 skewers with cut up onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes sprayed with olive oil and i'll probably dust them with seasonings of some sort
potato packets: a layer of bacon (i'll be using 1 T. of those real bacon bits for flavor and not many calories) then shredded potatoes (mine is regular hubbies is sweet potato) lots of onion, salt and pepper (the regular recipe calls for 2 T. of butter on top.. not gonna do that), and a quick spray of olive oil, wrap it all up in foil and grill it.
Anyone else care to post any good grilling recipes? i love to grill and try new things.. :)

Get the Turkey or chicken sausages that come in the various flavors and I slice them in to bite size pieces and I microwave baby potatoes for a little while, and chop up red onions and red, yellow and green pepper pieces I skewer them and BBQ and use flavored mustards for dipping. Cherry tomatoes are good on these too. This is also great for companY!!
that sounds yummy....I think I will do some veggie kabobs...giggles....I like the potato idea too
I BBQ'ed ground turkey burgers yesterday.....delicious!
i need an idea for tonight's barbaque.. i don't have any ground turkey here and i don't wanna go to the store.. any suggestions?
whatcha got ????
pork chops, chicken, ground sirloin, salmon, tilapia (don't know how good that would grill though, i've never tried it), steak (but just had a steak the other day and don't really want red meat again this soon.. i try to limit it to 1 time a week)
i'm actually thinking of making my pizza and cooking it on the grill (just thought about that like 1 minute ago) grilled pizza is to die for! :) but i'm not sure so if anyone has suggestions i'll be glad to entertain ideas.. :)

I had a grilled salmon the other day with a mango salsa that was to die for! I love pork chops on the grill. never had grilled pizza either!
it's good.. gets all smokey! mmm.. i used to make the crust too.. but i got super large tortillas and i thought i'd use that as the crust and add veggies and stuff.. i have this thing called ZaGrill and you put it on the grill to heat up and take the pizza pan that comes with it and then put it on the heated thing cover the grill and it cooks pretty quick.. tis good.. :) but i'm not sure if that's what i'm gonna do.. salmon also sounds super good to me..
that pizza thing sounds awesome!
i've decided.. pizza on the grill.. :)
I love fish on the grill I just wrap it in foil and season it add some ff margarine and wala...lol..
Grilled Pizza:
1 large flour tortilla (i used a 12 incher)
1 jar (i make my own) pizza sauce.. as much as you need to cover the "crust"
1 1/2 cups raw spinach
1/2 medium onion chopped
1/2 large green pepper chopped
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup low fat mozzarella cheese
2 servings turkey pepperoni (1 serving is 17 slices)
Cook green pepper, onion and mushroom until done (if you don't do this they WILL come off the pizza still raw and crunchy.. it doesn't cook for long). spray your pizza pan (i would definatly suggest getting a ZaGrill) with cooking spray. Put down the tortilla and spray with cooking spray around the edge that will be exposed (this will help brown and crisp it up). Layer like this: sauce, spinach, veggie mixture, cheese, and top with pepperoni. Cook on a medium hot grill for 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crunchy.
This is really good.. gets all smokey flavored and it's so good for you! :) Plus you can put any toppings on it you want.. the ones i put on are my favorites though.. :)
forgot to add.. you can eat 1/2 guilt free (it's really thin)
