Foods that you thought were High caloric but nope :P
Well i saw there were posts of food that you thought it was low caloric but they are extremely high caloric, now name some foods that you thought were extremely high caloric but they are actualy not :P
Ill start:
Custard =D!
Custard is AWESOME its just 100 kcal per 100 grams and it tastes AMAZING on bread!! its waay better than butter! and you can use it instead of chocolate spread :P. Also it could be in a low caloric dessert with fruits!!! :)
Edit*
Strawberries! <-- i knew they didnt have that many calories as they are a fruit but i thought they had like 150 kcal per 100g... but no :L! and they rule!
Cheese <-- well... i do know that cheese is realy high caloric, but im putting it here because the difference in calories between a normal cheese and a "light" or "reduced in fat" one is MASSIVE! A whole fat cheese can have 500 kcal per 100g while the light one can even go down to 200 - 250 kcal and still having the same amount of protein :P!!
Guinness. For as thick and creamy as it is I'm pretty sure a single serving is less than a 100 calories? Please correct me if I'm wrong!
O yeaaa haha its actualy like 200 kcal per can haha!
actualy i thought it was waaay more high caloric as its soooo thik :L
Crappola! That never happens for me! ![]()
Artichokes! I always assumed they were along the same lines as avocados, really good for you but high in calories. I mean, the hearts are just SO good!
In fact, they're quite low. I guess it's because there is not much edible mass to them. All the leaf meat couldn't amass to more than a few tablespoons, I'd think. Hooray, artichokes!
(If anyone eats Vegenaise, mix a tablespoon of it w/ a little lemon juice and chopped dill. Best artichoke dipping sauce ever!)
Libby's pure pumpkin. THere is just 140 cals in the entire can. I just add a little cinnamon on it and Its a very filling and tasty dessert.
OOOOO ARTICHOKES!!!
i always wanted to know the name of this veggie in english!!! haha
THEY ARE SOOO GOOOOOOD!!!
Solero Tropical Fruit Icecream - only 99 kcal. <3 I was offered one yesterday but I thought that they would be extremely high-calorie but my friend (who's also quite health-conscious) showed me the box - a HUGE amount and only 99 cals!!
Okay don't laugh:
Shrimps.
I thought the white part was ''fat'' xD

I know! They are my fave diet desserts!
hmm well popcorns pretty low calorie, as long as you're not eating mindlessly and finish a couple bowls before realizing...
this isnt me, but my mom used to be convinced that carrots, berries, and strawberries were high calorie because of their high sugar content. boy, was she wrong!
egg whites. i never considered them any different than the whole egg. not that i thought they were high calorie, but didnt realise how low it was.
deli meats, some are about 20 cals per slice - never would have thought.
Lipton's noodle soup. A whole packet (3 servings) has only 240 calories. Tons of sodium, but no calories.
Paypaya, and cantalope. one the size of my head is only 300-400 cals.
and like you said fat free cheese is a good low cal source of protein.
Pancakes. Always thought they were sinnful but if you have just one its not at all.
English Muffins - you know that bagels are hugely caloric, but it turns out these are much more reasonable at 100 calories
Twinkies - the "evil" Twinkie has only 150 calories, 4.5 grams of fat and 19 grams (ack) of sugar. HOWEVER - A Nutrigrain bar has 140 calories, 3 grams of fat, and 13 grams of sugar. They're so similar!
Greek yogurt - it's so creamy and thicker than sour cream, but Fage total 0% is really low-cal and full of protein.
Gravy!!
Durkee, French's or other gravy mix. 1Tbsp + 1 c Water = 22 calories.
That's enough to drench a few lean slices of Roast beef.
or sliced Turkey
or Chicken...
Yum.
If you get good tasting sugarfree maple syrup, eating pancakes can come back in your life. I brought my own syrup to a diner, had breakfast for dinner, only spent $13 (good for this economy eating dinner out) and stayed w/in my calorie range w/ 3 HUGE PANCAKES. It's the calories in the syrup that's evil!
Do you warm it up or just eat it cold out of the can with the cinnamon? Never thought to just eat canned pumpkin, but I know it's really good for you.

I warm it up for 1 min. Then I just add one pack of equal and some cinnamon. Its like a thanksgiving dessert.
