Reason: Set as Sticky
For Breakfast and lunch sometimes. Soy Shake taste good, keeps me filled, gives me energy boost, and was told help with hot flashes during menopause. Have been making soy shake going on 10 years now off and on. Started back making them this past week and am getting energy back after being sick.
Chocolate raspberry oatmeal: 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 cup water, 1/3 cup milk, 1/2-1 cup raspberries (or blackberries, which is what I had on hand when I made this), 1 heaping tbsp cocoa powder, sweetener
I love chocolate and raspberry!
I love browsing through all these oatmeal recipes!
Apple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal - 1 serving
1/2 small granny smith apple, chopped (1/2 = about 1oz)
1/2 cup quick oats (not packaged - the kind you cook)
1 cup of water
1/2 pad of butter (add more to taste, i'm just being careful)
2 teaspoons brown sugar (I use light brown sugar)
cinnamon to taste
very little vanilla (not necessary)
1/2 teaspoon (for the apples - see below)
First I caramelize the apples - In a small pot add your apple, 1/2 teaspoon of water, half of the butter, brown sugar. I heat those up until there's a thin syrup made - I remove it from the stove and put it in a cup or plate for later (this is your topping)
Next are the quick oats. This will only take a minute to cook. Add your cup of water, your 1/2 cup oats, and the rest of the butter and brown sugar. Add cinnamon and/or drops of vanilla (to taste).
I use a rounded mug to eat my oatmeal from then top it off with the caramelized apples.
Its a healthy meal that I look forward to - keeps me full throughout the morning and early afternoon, and minimal calories. You can cut out some of the butter if needed...sometimes I don't add butter to the oatmeal...just the apples. Hope you enjoy :3
Pumpkin Oatmeal!
5oz quick oats, sliced up banana, 1.5tbsp canned pumpkin, 1tsp pumpkin butter and apple butter w/ cinnamon and nutmeg on top. <3 (can also add some peanut butter too!)
Try adding pumpkin pie spice, craisins and pecans.
1/2 cup of oats 1/2 cup of soy milk 1/3 of water 1 - 2 sunsweet dates 1 tsp coconut butter
You have to use soy milk, don't use cows milk. The soy milk is sweet and soo good!
Directions:
Put oats, water and milk in a pot and shred the dates. Cook it up, the oats will soak up the liquid, and you turn it off when you get the thickness you like, I like it when it's a little bit thick but still watery :) put coconut butter in the middle or stir it in :)
If you are not fan of too sweet oatmeal (I'm talking about honey, banana and things like that, it just gets too sweet for me) this is PERFECT! I love it, has a nice sweetness to it, from the milk and the dates and the coconuts...
It's my newest oatmeal obsession ;)
Until I saw this post, I never thought you could really microwave any oatmeal besides instant. Even lower sugar instant oatmeal has a ton of sodium and so many of these recipes seem amazing! I can't wait to try them.
One of my favorite meals with oat meal is as follows:
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup Oatmeal
1 cup egg whites or 2 eggs
1 Tbsp splinda
1/4 cup water. (if needed)
mix together and put in Microwave for 3 min. Stir and enjoy. reminds me of a blue berry muffin. It doesn't look pretty but taste very good.
Add 1/4 cup of chopped almonds, 1/2 cup of blueberries (I use frozen), 1/2 tsp cinnamon, a tiny splash of vanilla, and (optional) sweetener to a serving of regular oats. My favorite high fiber meal! :)
ps: I'm definitely gonna try the pumpkin pie recipe!
this is the same thing that I eat but I add raisins in the water to start so they cook while the water boils .... YUMMY
try a spoon of apple butter it's really yummy that way.
BAKED OATMEAL! Oh. Lord. 1/2 cup oatmeal, milk/water/almond/coconut milk eh ~2 cups, add whatevvver you want - vanilla, craisins, chocolate chips, pecans, protein powder, canned pumpkin, eggs/whites, pumpkin pie spice, maple syrup, strawberries, or all of the above.
THEN toss into a dish, bake ~350 for 30 minutes or until you hit your desired thickness. If you leave it in longer, it comes out like a thick pudding, or oatmeal cake. Totally a good option to make a big batch at the beginning of the week and spoon and nuke as necessary.

strawberries, protein powder, egg whites, almonds
chocolate protein powder, stevia, almond butter, sliced bananas after finished cooking
