Wow! Ok. I was sceptical about trying these, but I am telling you, if you are an oatmeal lover, you have to try these!  I wasn't sure about cold oats, but I made them last night & they were delicious! Enjoy.

Overnight Oats


Ingredients:
1/2 cup of old fashioned oats
1/2 cup of almond milk

1 tbsp of honey
1 spoon of peanut butter (optional)
 
Stir & let sit overnight in refrigerator & enjoy the next morning.  Mix in favorite fruits or yogurt if desired.  If you like it sweeter, add more honey, sweetner, or maple syrup.  You can also add a scoop of cocoa powder for chocolate oats!

haha it feels like I'm on BB.com right now and not cc, since these often come up. But yeah I've heard good things about these. I'll try them soon

I actually do something similar, but with yogurt. 1/2 yogurt, 1/2 cup of oats. Let it sit overnight.

Adding you recipe will be a nice variation though. :)

And these are regular oats, not instant or anything?  No need to cook?

That is correct, romancoat, no need to cook them. I use the old fashioned oats.  Soaking them overnight cooks them!  It's very cool.

Yeah old fashioned comes out the creamiest!  I love love love Overnight Oats!  Slighly fanatical.  Have recipes on my blog (see profile), but my base is always oats, vanilla yogurt, almond milk and most times cottage cheese.  

Chia seeds make a great addition too if you have not tried that!

I tried this!  Well, it turned out that the only oatmeal I had left in the house was a single-serving packet of Apple-flavored Instant Oatmeal.  Added my lactose-free milk, and a drop of almond extract, and it was yummy and creamy!

Will be getting "real" oatmeal on my next grocery run and will try this with some soy milk.

Yum yum yum, I love overnight oats!

My favourite recipe of late:

-1/3 - 1/2 cup oatmeal

-1 cup Silk soy milk

-200g strawberries, sliced

-1 tbsp chia seeds

-1/3 cup pumpkin puree

-Pumpkin spice and cacao powder to taste!

 

Comes in at around ~350 calories and keeps me full forever!

love love the pumpkin version!  unfortunately I am on pumpkin detox for the next month.  feet and palms were turning orange from too much carotene.   Looked like a bad fake tan!  LOL  Cant wait to be able to eat it again!
