Question about Crockpot soup with Pasta
Does anyone know ow long the pasta needs to cook? I have had issues with things coming out mushy. I am using egg noodles.

Pasta is the one thing I've never slow cooked. It's going to get mushy because it's the nature of pasta to need fast cooking in rapidly boiling water. I hope somebody else has some experience with this and can advise you (and me!).
Claire...I think if you don't know then maybe it isn't going to work! You always have advice for these things!
I haven't cooked pasta in my crock pot either, but I did get a new 6-qt crock pot for Christmas this year and I read through both the user's guide and the recipe book that came with it and for those recipes that call for pasta, the directions say to add the pasta near then end of the cooking. Turn the heat to high, add the pasta. It may take a little longer to cook than in boiling water, but not too much longer because the liquid should be simmering anyway.
When I try a recipe with pasta for the first time I am going to be flexible in my serving time so I can test the timing.

Thanks cgolly I will try adding it 1/2 hour before. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
I put the pasta in and checked i tabout 20 minutes in and it si perfect! YAY! I saw some stuff online that said to double the nromal cooking time.
Thank you cgolly! and pygirl, believe me when I say that I still have a lot to learn. I'm a good basic cook and I'm good at creating and improvising, but I'm deficient in knowledge about things like crockpot and microwave cooking.
