If anyone abuses dogs or any pets I thing they should be in prison for life actually executed because prison isn't bad

And according to  anything I've read in the real crime section of the library..these 'children' are so disconnected, that killing/torturing animals is a symptom of a serial killer in the making.

*shudders*

In the horrific, awful cases, I completely agree.

No one who drills a puppy's head with a power tool is any good to society.

neither is someone who lights a dog on fire

So, no argument here.

What's the penalty for dressing dogs in silly costumes?

= ) Better a dog be loved too much, than not enough.

Try to think of that when you see some little dog in a poofy dress.

Trust me, they're loved.

No doubt raych, just trying to lighten the mood.....

Are you 7?

I was pretty sure, but then in my gallery, you can see my dogs from Halloween, so I went ahead and defended the costume-dressing, haha.

My babies were so cute..even if Shiloh was the angriest little unicorn ever.

I remember recently that a German shepherd was found walking around somewhere with it's face mangled.  It was determined that someone put a firecracker in it's mouth, duct taped it shut, and lit it.  The report said that for at least 5 days that dog walked around without the ability to eat or drink because of the severe damage to it's face. It was finally picked up and taken to a vet where it was put down.

My heart broke for that poor dog and I hope that if they ever do catch the idiots that did that to it the punishment is severe.

I saw the photo, and it made me so angry I shook. It also made me cry.

They say it was 'kids' (teens or around that age) who did it.

If that's not a sad commentary on our society..I just don't know what would be.

My gut reaction is kill the little bastards.

This was intentionally, horrifically, horribly cruel.

This wasn't oh, I tripped over a dog, or..oops..I left a door open and my dog was hit by a car.

This was pretty flippin evil.

An eye for an eye?  Does it make me just as evil that I would like these guys to spend their last moments watching the wick of a firecracker burn down after being put in their mouth and taping it shut before blowing their head off?  And if they survive let them go 5 days without food, water, or medical attention before finally giving them lethal injection.   In my opinion that's the only way that dogs death can truly be avenged and it can have justice.

While some would probably disagree or sort of pale at that extreme kind of rage, I feel exactly the same way you do.

There is never enough justice for those who hurt or horribly kill animals. It's always a slap on the hand. Maybe we wouldn't be so frustrated and angry if it was considered an actual crime and taken seriously, but until it is..yeah, believe me I would love to see horrible things like that happen to those who deserve it.

I feel the same way about murderers who do horrific things, too.

All of us who care just have to keep pushing our representatives for better laws and tougher sentences, and also keep our eye on our local shelters and governments as they can be little better sometimes.

I've written the mayor of a given city before to notify him of things I saw at his shelter. He said he'd had no idea..that for instance, any dog with simple, treatable kennel cough was not given medication, but simply deemed 'unadoptable' and left to wait out their few days and die.

Otherwise healthy dogs who were very adoptable..for lack of simple antibiotics..only rescues could go in there and pull them, which is how I knew. I was sent there to get my first foster dog, and when I arrived it was very cold, early morning, and they were spraying his cage out with water..with him IN it.

And these are the animal shelters who 'save' them.

It's a nightmare.

While I do not feel the same emotional vengeance as many of the posters here, I would like these people to be put away so that I can go on living in a peaceful society.  I don't care to make them suffer for what they did.  I just want them out so I can live as I want and society can be closer to my ideal.

Sociopaths cannot emotionally suffer and feel badly the way non-sociopaths do anyways.  Physical torture or even death is likely not the have the same punishment or regret impact.

I would think differently if this was my own pet or family member.

Maybe that's my weakness..I think of them all as mine. Any dog or other animal could easily have been one of my own, you know? Someone could have done that to one of mine.

It goes directly there for me emotionally when I see things, as I'm sure it does with others as well. People have a hard time hearing about horrible cases, be it human or animal victims, because it's all too easy to imagine it happening to someone you love.

I'm a little too sensitive, maybe..I could hear about a case of elder abuse and think of how it would be if someone did that to my grandpa, and then I get very upset.

I just hate cruelty, and that there is so much of it in the world..so needlessly.

That kills me.

My daughter sent this to me yesterday from Africa:

"How can you ever think it's ok to NOT feed the kids on the malnutrition ward for 3 days??!"

Should we execute all the health care people at that hospital? They are health care people and should know better.

I am not advocating for animal abuse. I'm just asking you to expand you view a little bit from demanding that every one must have perfect moral judgement regardless of their upbringing, their mental competence, their health, and in some cases, their dire circumstances.

The crazy cat lady may not be abusing the cats. She may love them too much and got in way over her head. Nevertheless - Crucify her!

Do not call me a hypocrite I'm not one Jeremy Kyle is but not me

For me I save my rage for those who are strong, who are in power, who are in the position to protect the weak, the young, etc., and chose to exploit and abuse instead.

I mentioned this on another thread.. but I do feel its a type of animal abuse..Have you seen the Panda Dogs.. ??  Tiger Dogs.. Horse Dogs.. These animals are dyed and styled to look like any number of other animals.. I am certain they are loved and cherished and now even valuable pets.. (the procedure can cost thousands)_ but the process seems cruel. I understand they are careful to use safe coloring.. but still..

People where I live keep hunting dogs like beagles in rabbit hutches.. (slightly bigger)..I am sure they are cared for.  To them these animals are not pets, but hunting partners or tools, just like a rifle..  I feel really sorry for them... but I wouldn't call it abuse..

Oh for the love of...chocolate! Can we not have pleasant stuff to talk about...really I hear enough of this stuff on the news to trouble my brain!

*Goes to happy place, cuddles teddy*

I would. Because no dog should be kept in such small confinements for long periods of time. A dog has feelings and needs... they are not met in the confines of a rabbit hutch. Nor are they rabbits.

Rabbits shouldn't even be kept in hutches for long periods of time. They need to run around too.

I always feel ill for "cage" pets. Ie hamsters/small rodents, rats, ferrets, guinea pigs, and rabbits. They all need outside-of-cage time. Most don't even get the chance. My hamster runs in his little ball every day and sits in my hands for a bit before hand (because he's tired after all the running around).

On a brighter note there are many people who are out there doing the right thing.  Watch this video and cry tears of joy for Tiger.

Allergy Remedies
Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
