Attention Horrible Drivers!!!

Quote  |  Reply

This means you if:

  • you deliberately drive 5mph under the speed limit (especially in the fast lane)
  • you pull up to a stop light you stop 6 car lengths from the line or car in front of you
  • don't use turn signals
  • I'm going 80 frickin mph why is this not fast enough? get off my a**!
  • cut me off and then drive slower than I was to begin with
  • flashing your headlights or high beams will not make me go faster or move out of your lane so just deal with it
  • I don't know what the laws are in other states but in MD as long as there is no sign indicating otherwise, you can turn right on red
  • if you can't drive at least 55mph you don't belong on an interstate or beltway!
  • why are 3 and 4 way stops so hard for you? first come first served baby!
  • circles are not that confusing! yield to the left!
  • stop slamming on your brakes in front of me. I'm going the posted speed limit and you are going 10mph under!
  • lastly, if I piss you off just stay in your car I'm armed! although I do enjoy the look on your face when you find that out.

You know who you are! Just stop it! Stop It Right Now!

Your contradictory pet peeves (e.g., complaining about those going slower than you and then complaining about those going faster than you) would indicate that you yourself are a horrible driver.

You're one of us! :>

I have yet to see anyone in Maryland actually do the speed limit (other than myself) let alone driving 10 miles under it. Their usual MO is a minimum 20 miles over it while erratically changing lanes to pass cars so they don't have to step on their brakes.

I don't feel like anyone is doing the speed limit anymore around here.

I'll be doing 10 or 15 over myself and have people riding my tail or rushing to get around me and then speed off.  The few stray people I see who are doing the speed limit seem like they are going sooo incredibly slow in comparison.

My traffic pet peeve of the day:

If you are in the wrong lane to make your exit or go in the direction you need to go, it's really not my job to remedy that for you.  Also, if there is a traffic accident blocking the lane of traffic you are in, once you realize that, put your blinker on and wait for someone to slow and leave room for you to pull over.  Don't stay in that lane until you are practically on top of the accident, and then jerk your vehicle over in between the two cars nearby.  They might hit you.  There isn't enough room for your vehicle in the space between my front bumper and their rear, therefore you should not be attempting to get into this lane.

No it is not contradictory. I refer to the drivers that can't just drive at a reasonable speed for their given situation. For example on a 70mph Interstate I'm driving between 75-79mph to keep with the flow of traffic unlike the jacka**ses that try to run you off the road easily hitting 90-95mph. On a smaller side road 40mph I drive 40-45 not 25-30 like the slower drivers.

Hah! You should try VA! I can't stand it! They actually go slower than the posted limit, slam on their brakes, AND erratically change lanes. This is in Fredericksburg/Chancellorsville.

In NC they will run you off the road like in FL. GA and SC I have the least amount of trouble.

Your definition of "reasonable" is arbitrary.  You're just as much in the way of the faster drivers as the slower drivers are in yours.

No I'm not. How am I in the way? I don't use the fast lane on the interstate if I drive at a reasonable speed. Which, to me, is between the posted and 9 over limit. I use the middle or right lanes and yet people still need to cut me off instead of just driving like rational people.

If you want to drive like a maniac stay in the fast lane. If someone in front of you is going too "slow" for you just pass. Don't be a jerk and almost run them off the road or into another vehicle because you can't possibly take 5 extra seconds to get to where you need to go!

Why is this an argument for you anyway? Do you believe that common sense and obeying traffic laws is just not for you?

Sounds like you're in the way to me.

Speeding is speeding.  Anyone travelling over the speed limit is breaking the law.

Wow, you just like to argue don't you? You're definitely one of those horrible drivers! : )

Takes one to know one.

Perhaps taking a more zen-like attitude to driving and your fellow road-mates is in order?  In my experience that has always worked best for me.

Beautiful cat, btw.

I complete stop at stop signs. I use my turn signal for any kind of movement (lane changes, turning, even at a turn only red light). I follow the speed limit (I'm terrified of being stopped by a cop). I've never broken a speed limit in my life yet. :o

I don't drive on the highway yet.

I'm 27 years old and have only started driving since I last drove at 16 years old to get my license. I think I'm an ok driver, but I'm always afraid I'm terrible and will anger people.

Question: Our highways here have a max speed of 65mph. If I do 65mph, am I not allowed in the "fast" lane?

I don't understand road rage and road anger... I just don't get it. :P

Depends on whether or not your state has a Keep Right Except to Pass law ("KRETP").  If you're traveling in the left lane without passing, you could get pulled over.

Even then, it's just common courtesy to not block the passing lane, unless you're in Ohio.  Ohioans are the absolute worst when it comes to blocking the left lane, in my opinion.  Bunch of jerks.

i wouldn't recommend the fast lane if you're doing the limit.

What about people that get to a 4 way stop 5 seconds before you do but instead of just going they wait until you get there and come to a full stop before going through the intersection?
